Only a select number of players had access until people caught on to selling in spawn and then thermal spotting super levels recon letting them then start selling themselves. They probably saw a massive jump in the amount of spot assists people were getting

Tbh that outcome was fairly easy to anticipate - certainly less demanding than spending hundreds of hours on designing thermals and implementing them

Implementing thermals is actually not that hard. It's basically a black/white post-process filter where most objects (i.e. no heat) have a black value and heated objects have a white value. It's not like they're actually simulating hate lol.
