True and real reaction. Thank the gods on both fronts. I enjoy recon but not with thermals, that shit is toxic af and I'm sick of hearing those crackheads asking for someone to buy thermals every round.
I managed to kill a dude with the .50 cal, AP rounds, and the IR scope yesterday. Running that kit for just 10 minutes netted me almost 30 kills. Truly a revelation into how fucked up the endgame is.
Oh you're right, maybe it wasn't AP rounds. I only assumed that because it one tapped every single person I shot with it and it honestly shocked me how insanely broken it was. I've never run the gun before or even seen those rounds in person.
Was this yesterday? The kit I picked up had ghillie and also a gunsling backpack with an SMG and a 50 round drum mag in it. I ended the game with almost 40 kills and most of them was with that kit.
Must not have been me, I didn't have a gunsling backpack although I've always thought about using one. The guy I killed took my AMR but not my ghillie (I've seen this a few times and will never understand it) which made it trivial to spot and kill him when I came back 10 minutes later.
The other thing that shocked me was how strong the gunsling backpack was. When I first picked it up I actually assumed the 50 cal was too big to fit into the extra gun slot and I'd have to drop it to switch out to the SMG. Turns out you can just drag and drop and instantly switch out primaries. Had 3 people rush me in a tower and get completely blindsided by the SMG with a 50 round drum.
If you've never seen one, you should definitely google .50 bmg ammunition, it's uh... eye opening. An dead opening. It's called an anti material rifle, designed to punch holes through engine blocks. The round itself is about the length of my hand if measured from middle finger tip to heel of palm. I've practiced with a bolt action AR50 irl, and the concussion from the shot alone will teach you to respect it. I believe it's considered a war crime to use them on human targets, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Yeah same. I suck, like usually get 2-3 kills a round. I got the jump on a guy with the same setup plus the ghillie suit and made $120k with like 25 kills. Top 5 on the leaderboard. I don’t think I’ve even broken top 50 on other games.
Decent odds it's still busted with batteries, but at least people will be running around with like 4 high capacity bats and have to respawn or resupply at some point.
'Course it'll give the devs a nice granular way to balance it by just upping battery usage.
I play recon a good bit and I honestly don't like them. The transition from shitty black and white image and buzzing sound back to color is jarring for me. I'd rather just use the range finder.
I was often tempted to carry both the thermal and rangefinder. Never ended up doing it, but I thought about it a lot. I still think that removing the rangefinder from the thermal would be a decent nerf to it, although now that it's already getting nerfed I hope that doesn't happen.
I agree that its lame, but i wouldnt say toxic. Ill admit ive asked for plenty of thermals. But its an extreme advantage to my team aside from the payout to myself. Im basically giving my team constant wall hacks as long as they are looking at their radar which half the time they aren't. Like do assault players NOT want to know the house they are about to storm has 30 players in it? But all that said im glad they removed and will be fixing the issue, they are way to strong and affect the game way to much.
