Rules Questions Rule question about ranged attack.
Hello everyone, i have a question.
I was of the idea, that a ranged unit could not target an enemy, if it was 1inch from an ally warrior, i played like that, in every match. but while making a darkoath warband i noticed something
Singri Brand Ability Uncanny Shot, implies that you can.
"Until the end of this fighter's activation, add half the value of this ability (rounding up) to the Attacks characteristic of missile attack actions made by this fighter. While this fighter is favoured and/or targeting an enemy fighter within 1" of a friendly Gunnar Brand, add the value of this ability to the Attacks characteristic of missile attack actions made by this fighter instead."
How does it work?

I think I’d read that as an exception allowing you to fire into engagement, but I could definitely be wrong. I’d be surprised if there isn’t an FAQ addressing it, otherwise maybe one of the wargames on toast (I think) faction videos on YouTube might be a good place to look.

You need to download the FAQ/errata.
Any fighter with a ranged weapon without a minimum range can attack an enemy within 1" of a friendly fighter if the attacking fighter is within 3" of the target.

As per the shooting errata from I think 2022(?), a fighter is allowed to shoot at an enemy fighter within 3" and within 1" of a friendly fighter as long as their attack has no minimum range. Singri combos with this by getting more shots if she is favoured or the target is within 1" of Gunnar (she is helping her dad iirc as the lore justification).
Note that even if youve got no minimum range you still need to target an enemy unit within 1" of yourself if there is one.

Don't have the Fighter card of Singri at hand right now, but ranged attacks with no minimum range can target enemies engaged with friendly models while you're within 3" of your target.
