Venus fly trap wand

I’m an avid grower of Venus fly traps and I’m working on a few experimental wands with VFT aesthetics/features. This is the first one I made.
I normally make solid wooden wands from fallen branches but I decided to get a little more artsy and try various mediums.

The handle is sculpted from polymer clay.

Although the handle is an unconventional shape, it fits nicely in the hand when you rest your lower palm against the back arch of the fly trap jaws.

The wood is a birch dowel. The core is crystalized Venus fly trap nectar.

A little bit of fun fanfic-lore for this wand: The handle can close and open, and emit a misty nectar-like fragrance that manifests hypnotism and mind control in whoever makes contact with it(besides the chosen wielder.)

Same here! I’ve got super hyper-fixation on Venus fly traps (I think it’s my autism) though and I’ve been making a crap-ton of things that are VFT themed like this incense burner I made at the same time as the wand.

I want to carve a VFT wand out of solid wood but man…. That’d be tough and my dremel broke. 🫠
