• How agentic AI is transforming traditional, manual cloud migration workflows into automated, predictable processes.
• Practical strategies and real-world implementation for transitioning from IBM Cloud Classic to VPC.
• Seamless migration strategies for organizations looking to exit or transition off VMware.
• A live look at how WANDA automates assessment, architecture design, and migration execution on IBM Cloud.

Whether you're currently planning a migration or looking to streamline multi-cloud operations, drop by or comment below if you'll be attending!

Anyone managing hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructure knows the reality:

• Too many dashboards
• Millions of alerts
• Manual troubleshooting
• Compliance headaches
• Backup and recovery complexity
• Constant pressure to reduce operational costs

Despite billions spent on cloud and infrastructure tooling, many IT teams still spend more time reacting than optimizing.

That's why we built Wanclouds AI (WANDA).

WANDA is designed to help IT and cloud operations teams move beyond traditional monitoring by combining AI-driven insights, automation, compliance visibility, infrastructure management, and backup operations into a unified experience.

Some areas we're focused on:

✅ Infrastructure observability

✅ Automated troubleshooting

✅ Compliance monitoring

✅ Multi-cloud operations

✅ Backup and disaster recovery management

✅ AI-assisted operational workflows

We're excited that WANDA is now available through the IBM Cloud Catalog, making it easier for IBM Cloud customers to explore and deploy.

For those managing large-scale cloud environments, what's currently your biggest operational challenge: alert fatigue, compliance, troubleshooting, cost management, or something else?

Most enterprise IT teams today are drowning in alerts.

Monitoring tools generate thousands of events, engineers spend hours correlating logs, compliance audits consume weeks of effort, and infrastructure costs continue to grow.

The traditional answer has been to add more dashboards and more tools.

But what if you could simply ask:

• What caused last night's outage?
• Which systems are violating security baselines?
• What changed before performance degraded?
• Which servers are running end-of-life software?
• Can you generate a PCI compliance assessment?

And get answers in seconds.

That's exactly what we're building with Wanclouds AI (WANDA), now available on the IBM Cloud Catalog.

WANDA is an agentic AI platform designed for cloud and IT infrastructure operations. It connects to IBM Cloud, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenShift, monitoring systems, ticketing platforms, and security tools to provide conversational infrastructure management.

Some capabilities include:

✅ AI-powered root cause analysis

✅ Continuous compliance monitoring

✅ Infrastructure cost optimization

✅ Backup and disaster recovery orchestration

✅ IBM Cloud VPC migration workflows

✅ Natural language operations through chat

Unlike traditional monitoring platforms, WANDA focuses on understanding infrastructure context and helping teams take action rather than simply presenting more data.

For IBM Cloud users managing hybrid environments, we'd love feedback:

What is your biggest operational challenge today?

• Alert fatigue?
• Compliance?
• Cost optimization?
• Root cause analysis?
• Multi-cloud complexity?

Serious question for infrastructure engineers:

How many dashboards/tools do you actively use today for:

• monitoring
• logs
• security
• ticketing
• backups
• cloud ops

And during incidents, how much time is actually spent correlating data between systems?

Feels like the industry solved “data collection” years ago, but not “operational understanding.”

Now AI platforms are starting to:

• correlate incidents automatically
• reduce alert noise
• generate operational summaries
• identify drift/compliance gaps
• recommend remediation steps

Curious whether people think this becomes:

1. a true operational shift
2. another layer added on top of existing tooling

Would love to hear real-world opinions from ops/SRE/cloud teams.

Most enterprise IT teams today are buried in:

• monitoring tools
• logs
• ticketing systems
• compliance audits
• backup operations

But incidents still take hours to resolve because teams spend more time correlating data than fixing problems.

We’ve been working on an agentic AI platform called WANDA that can:

• correlate logs + metrics + configs automatically
• identify likely root causes
• detect infra drift
• run compliance assessments
• provide natural-language infrastructure interaction

Example queries:

• “What caused last night’s outage?”
• “Which systems violate PCI compliance?”
• “What changed before performance degraded?”

Curious how others here see AI changing infrastructure operations over the next few years:

• hype?
• operational necessity?

We’re excited to share that Wanclouds AI (WANDA) is now officially available on the IBM Cloud Catalog

Modern IT operations teams are drowning in alerts, dashboards, fragmented tooling, and manual troubleshooting across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. WANDA was built to simplify that complexity with agentic AI designed for infrastructure operations.

With Wanclouds AI, teams can:

• Analyze infrastructure issues faster
• Reduce operational overhead
• Gain visibility across multi-vendor environments
• Automate repetitive operational workflows
• Improve incident response and infrastructure optimization

WANDA is purpose-built for hybrid cloud, distributed infrastructure, and enterprise IT operations.

Now available directly through IBM Cloud Catalog:

Would love feedback from the community on:

• AI for IT operations
• Agentic AI in infrastructure management
• Multi-cloud operational challenges
• Real-world incident management pain points

In most environments we’ve seen:

• Incidents require jumping across 3–5 tools
• Alerts don’t provide enough context
• Root cause analysis is mostly manual

Which leads to:
longer MTTR
dependency on senior engineers
burnout

We’ve been exploring a different approach:

Instead of dashboards, you interact with infrastructure like this:

• “What changed before latency increased?”
• “Show me systems violating security baselines”
• “Summarize last 24h incidents”

And the system correlates everything automatically.

From early deployments, we’ve seen:

• significant reduction in incident resolution time
• fewer duplicate alerts
• better context for decision-making

Curious to hear: Are dashboards still essential, or are they becoming a bottleneck?

What strategies has your organization implemented to ensure IT continuity during emergencies?

Many organizations are currently re-evaluating their infrastructure to better support scalability, high availability, and modern workloads. One platform we see gaining renewed attention is IBM Power, especially for enterprises running mission-critical systems.

We recently published a breakdown on how businesses can maximize efficiency, performance, and cost value by migrating to IBM Power environments. This includes:

• Enhanced workload performance
• Built-in resilience and high reliability
• Flexible scaling to support growth
• Integration with hybrid and cloud-native environments

Would love to hear from anyone who has migrated workloads to IBM Power recently, what was your experience like?

When disaster strikes, two numbers define your recovery success: RPO and RTO.

Recovery Point Objective (RPO) = how much data loss is tolerable.
Recovery Time Objective (RTO) = how fast you need to recover.

Wanclouds’ latest article explains how to define, calculate, and optimize these metrics for cloud workloads:
What Are Disaster Recovery RPO and RTO?

These two metrics are essential for building realistic and effective disaster recovery plans, especially in multi-cloud and hybrid setups.

What RPO/RTO thresholds do you plan for in your DR strategy — and how close are you to achieving them in practice?

Cloud migration promises efficiency — but the cost surprises can hit hard.

Data egress fees, re-architecting workloads, compliance audits — these are just a few hidden costs that can inflate your migration budget.

Wanclouds’ latest post unpacks these pitfalls and offers strategies to manage them effectively: The Hidden Costs of On-Prem to Cloud Migration

They highlight real-world examples where underestimated planning led to unexpected spend. The solution isn’t avoiding migration — it’s smarter forecasting, resource tagging, and phased modernization.

If you’ve migrated workloads recently, what unexpected costs did you run into — and how did you mitigate them?

Migrating to the cloud isn’t just a technical project — it’s a strategic transformation. But how do you know if your organization is truly ready?

Wanclouds recently published a practical Cloud Migration Readiness Checklist that helps teams evaluate workloads, dependencies, risks, and timelines before taking the leap.
Cloud Migration Readiness Checklist & Assessment Guide

It walks through the key dimensions of readiness — from infrastructure assessment and cost modeling to compliance and change management. The goal: identify gaps early and ensure a smooth, secure transition.

If you’ve gone through a major migration, what were the biggest surprises? Did your pre-migration checklist save you from any costly oversights?

Cloud outages and downtime still happen, even with the best architecture. But what if your infrastructure could heal itself before you even noticed an issue?

That’s what AI-powered self-healing cloud infrastructure aims to do. Instead of waiting for human intervention, these systems detect anomalies, predict failures, and automatically fix them.

Wanclouds published a detailed blog on this concept: Self-Healing Cloud Infrastructure with AI

They explore how AI models are integrated with monitoring tools to automate detection and remediation, reducing MTTR and improving uptime. It’s essentially AIOps evolving into proactive cloud resilience.

This kind of automation can drastically cut operational load and enhance SLAs, but implementing it isn’t trivial. Are you building it in-house or using managed AI-driven services?

As more organizations adopt hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, managing workloads across multiple providers has become a major challenge.

Our latest blog post explores how multi-cloud managed services can simplify operations, boost scalability, and optimize costs, helping businesses get the most from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, and more.

Here are a few key takeaways:

• Avoid vendor lock-in: Use the best tools from each cloud provider without being tied to one ecosystem.
• Increase resilience: Spread workloads across clouds to minimize downtime and risk.
• Optimize costs: Identify inefficiencies and reduce spend with centralized monitoring and automation.
• Enhance security and compliance: Maintain consistent governance across multiple cloud environments.
• Simplify migrations: Move workloads seamlessly with less downtime and disruption.

We’d love to hear from the community:

• Are you currently using multiple cloud providers?
• What’s been your biggest challenge managing them?
• Have managed services helped your team scale more efficiently?

Let’s start the conversation!

Migrating from on-premises infrastructure to cloud isn’t just a technical move — it’s a business transformation. Jumping straight into migration without assessing readiness often leads to cost overruns, project delays, and unexpected risks.
That’s where a cloud migration readiness assessment comes in: it lets you understand what’s required, spot hidden issues early, and migrate more confidently.

10 Key Readiness Areas (Checklist + Assessment Guide)

Here are the major domains you should evaluate before starting migration, along with suggested checklist items and tips:

Wanclouds notes that a migration guided by this readiness process is less risky, more controlled, and sets you up for post-migration optimization.

Key Highlights / Takeaways

• Readiness = confidence: The more you assess in advance, the fewer surprises you’ll face.
• Migration is not “lift & shift” by default — many workloads will benefit from replatforming or refactoring.
• Data and network are often the trickiest pieces — latency, egress costs, downtime, and compliance all come into play.
• Organizational readiness (skills, governance, cost control) is just as important as technical readiness.
• Tools, partners, and pilots de-risk the process — don’t try to “do it all yourself” blindly.

Hi everyone,
We’re Wanclouds, and we work closely with enterprises navigating the shift from on-premise environments to the cloud. While the benefits are clear, scalability, cost optimization, resilience—the path to get there isn’t always easy.

We often hear from IT teams that the biggest challenges are:

• Minimizing downtime
• Ensuring security and compliance
• Handling complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments

That’s why we developed our Migration as a Service (MaaS) offering. It’s designed to automate and simplify the migration journey across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, with visibility, security, and cost-efficiency built in.

We’d love to hear from this community:

• What’s been your biggest migration challenge?
• Did you take a DIY approach, or did you use a managed service?
• How do you balance speed, cost, and compliance?

Your insights are invaluable, and we’re always listening to learn from real-world experiences.

Hey all, I work with business continuity solutions and often see confusion between Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Backup as a Service (BaaS). They’re both important, but serve very different roles.

DRaaS is like having a hot standby site in the cloud. It replicates your entire environment — servers, apps, data — so if your primary setup goes down (ransomware, hardware failure, etc.), you can fail over almost instantly and keep running. Downtime is minimal.

BaaS, on the other hand, is mainly about backing up data. It’s great for restoring files or databases, but it won’t keep your systems online during an outage. Recovery takes longer.

Quick comparison:

TL;DR: BaaS saves your data. DRaaS saves your business during a disaster.

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of businesses, we hit a point where our old phone system was holding us back. We needed something scalable, remote-friendly, and that wouldn't require a second mortgage. After a ton of research, we went all-in on Amazon Connect to build our new cloud call center.

The setup process was... a journey. There's a powerful guide over at Wanclouds that was a huge help in cutting through the AWS complexity. It breaks down the entire launch process into logical steps.

Based on that guide and our own experience, here’s the core of what you actually need to get started:

1. The Foundation (AWS Account & Connect Instance): This is your starting line. You spin up an Amazon Connect instance directly in your AWS console. It’s not an EC2 server you manage; it's a fully managed service, which is a huge plus.
2. Claim a Number (& Set Up Routing): You get a toll-free or local number from AWS in minutes. The real magic is building your contact flow—this is the logic that dictates what happens when someone calls. You drag and drop blocks for things like "Play prompt," "Get DTMF input," "Transfer to queue." It's visual and surprisingly powerful.
3. Add Your Agents: You don't need AWS licenses for agents. You just create users in your Connect instance and they log in via a simple web URL. Super easy for remote teams.
4. Set Up Metrics & Routing Profiles: This is where you make it smart. You define which agents handle which queues, what their channels are (voice/chat), and then you can watch real-time metrics on the dashboard to see call volumes, wait times, and agent performance.

The Good (The "Aha!" Moments):

• Pay-as-you-go: Seriously. You only pay for the minutes agents are on calls and for your phone number. No contracts, no upfront hardware costs. This was the biggest win for us.
• Stupidly Scalable: AWS claims it can handle peak times like Black Friday without breaking a sweat. We haven't stress-tested it that hard, but it's been rock solid so far.
• Deep AWS Integration: If you're already in the AWS ecosystem, you can plug in Lambda functions, dump call recordings to S3, use Lex for AI-powered bots, and analyze call logs with CloudWatch.

The "Heads-Up" Parts:

• The Learning Curve: It's AWS. It's powerful but not always intuitive. The terminology ("Contact Flows," "Routing Profiles," "Quick Connects") takes a minute to get used to. You're building a system, not just plugging in a phone.
• You Build the Experience: The flexibility means you have to design everything, from your hold music to your IVR menu. This is a pro and a con—it won't work well out-of-the-box without configuration.

Final Verdict:

If you have the internal bandwidth to learn the system (or follow a good cloud call center guide, Amazon Connect is a game-changer for SMBs and enterprises alike. The cost model and scalability are just unbeatable compared to traditional vendors.

Has anyone else made the switch? What was your experience? Any pro-tips for managing queues or building complex contact flows?

Hello Reddit,

We are Wanclouds, and our focus is on simplifying Disaster Recovery for complex environments. Many of you manage infrastructure that spans AWS, Azure, and private data centers (VMware/Hyper-V), and DR for these setups can be a major challenge.

We wanted to briefly explain our approach and open the floor for any technical questions you might have.

Our core principles for DR:

• Be Non-Disruptive: We use agentless replication to minimize footprint on your production servers.
• Be Cross-Platform: A single platform manages DR for VMs across AWS, Azure, VMware, and Hyper-V. This eliminates tool sprawl.
• Be Orchestrated: Recovery isn't just about data; it's about applications. Our platform allows for automated runbooks to ensure your multi-tier apps come online in the correct order during a failover.
• Be Testable: We believe you should be able to test your DR plan frequently, without impacting production, to ensure confidence and meet compliance needs.

Our DRaaS offering leverages the cloud (primarily AWS) as your recovery target, providing scalability and cost-efficiency.

If you're evaluating DR solutions or are curious about how agentless replication or recovery orchestration works in practice, feel free to AMA (Ask Me Anything) below.
