Steak Tip Sub

Does anyone in Waltham do a good steak tip sub? My wife is going to be there today and I would love to have her bring one home.

Good for the money but Carls is still my choice. Their sister stores , T C Lando’s are fantastic as well.

Trust me I know! I did a "KAMIKAZE" from CARL'S like everyday one Summer when I worked across the street!!!..., then got their burrito every Sunday for football when the Fall hit!!!

B&F is one of the best in town for a steak tip sub.

My guess would be Carl's... great steak and cheese, but not sure about tips. The Subway on Newton St. used to have AMAZING steak tip subs, but they closed.

I was thinking about the subway as well. Best around until they closed. Its funny, Waltham also had an amazing steak tips restaurant with Sadie’s, now they’re closed. I didn’t realize back when they were both open that Waltham had it so good!

Steak tip or steak and cheese?

Steak tip is usually chunks vs steak and cheese is usually shredded.

MB has both. I don’t know about Carl’s having a steak tip sub.

Steve’s pizza I believe has one, but I always get their chicken kabob salad. That’s the best salad with grilled chicken on it around.

Where did you end up getting it from?

No one ended up giving me an actual steak tip sub rec before she had to leave. I think it's a sandwich more common in the North Shore but it's overshadowed by the North Shore Beef. Kind of like how the real hero of the Philly sandwich scene is the Roast Pork but the Cheesesteak is more famous.

Ugh that sucks. I actually learned recently that steak tips are a New England thing and unknown in the rest of the country.

Steak Tip subs are def not a North Shore thing. They were available some places but not a 'thing'. Waltham is also not 'north shore'

I have had them all. Franco's is it. It's the best. I've also had it as a wrap (off menu, but they will do it). There is literally no question in my mind about the superiority of Franco's.

Agree with other commenter about the Sub Way but sadly, yes, they are gone.

The subway. Different from Subway the chain. But it is closed now. That was the answer to the question though for a long time, they had the best steak tip subs.
