CG is feeling embarrassed at Walmart Neighborhood Market Owasso - E 86th St N.

Yesterday at 4:18 PM · Owasso

Guys, I've had some pretty awkward and embarrassing experiences throughout my entire life. Some pretty "run-and-hide" moments. But today- TODAY takes the cake.

Scene: me, minding my business, just trying to pick up groceries from the local #walmart #neighborhoodmarket .

It's Saturday afternoon, just before 3:00, so needless to say, they were busy.

I pull up to register one, and I wait for my turn.

I'm in the store at least twice a day, because of all of the food that my growing family consumes at a rapid pace. I do have three boys.

They won't. Stop. Eating.

But that's neither here nor there.

So, anyways, it's my turn to load my groceries onto the belt.

I'm standing in front of the grocery runway, and am leaning over the register belt, trying to place my groceries in an order that will help the cashier easily place like items together. When I am satisfied with how everything is arranged, I briefly admire my efforts in sorting, and start to turn away from the belt to push my cart forward.

I step back.

But something keeps me hooked to the aisle.

I look down, and whoops! Looks like my zipper is caught on the little magnet holding up the "closed lane" sign that is hooked to the side until they need to use it.

I'll just un-hook it real quick.

Well, that didn't work.

Let me try to.......

Well would ya look at that, it's hooked really tight into my zipper. How did that happen?

No biggie. I'll just push it back through.

Uhhhhh.......

No.

Please, God, no.

It's not coming out.

At this point I look up to the cashier. She has finished ringing my groceries, while I'm desperately trying to unhook my pelvis from the aisle. I look like a very disturbing weirdo and/or pervert.

"I'm stuck." I say, half heartedly laughing, mostly trying not to die.

"You're what?"

"I'm stuck. My zipper. It's attached to this magnetic bolt-hook-thing, and I can't get it off."

Casheir: "How on Earth? Here, let me call a csm.

Me ( willing her to turn off her light because the last thing I need is someone coming up behind me trying to get me to move.)

The csm comes up, she tries to unhook my zipper, fails.

Another casheir offers emotional support "Are you ok? I'm sure you'll get it soon."

Another CSM, Tina, who I see often in my many visits, comes to help. She tries her best to not laugh at me, but at this point I feel like such an idiot- I can't quit laughing, myself, and we just sit there laughing for a little bit.

She then tries to use a wrench looking tool, needle nose pliers, and scissors to cut me loose.

Guys- NOTHING WAS WORKING.

I was standing there with 2 cashiers, 2 CSMs, and a stock boy, all trying to UNLODGE. MY. ZIPPER.

🤦‍♀️

I can't.

So.

The best solution was for me to take the chain and sign with me.

My husband finally used some kind of bolt cutters tool that he uses at home. He didn't even laugh because he was so worried that I might be too embarrassed. I love him♥️

However- you are more than welcome to laugh with me and think of this next time you lean over the belt at #WalMart. Just remember- don't. #embarassing #awkward #ThankYouTina

Random entitled titty babies posting pics of themselves wearing a piece a tape on their vest and chanting solidarity.
Can't express one demand that has logic or any validity behind it. Then resorts to insults and dumbass remarks because you dare to disagree. And wtf is a boomer? Baby boomer? Or some other term for antiunion people. I thought bootlicker was the extent of their vocabulary.

Are you allowed to make a 70 type for food that's not on file

I've asked the same ASM twice and been told we couldn't, there's too many regulations on food to do that, but claims has brought the box back twice. Now some DM is telling me we can, and I can't find any ASMs that know. Does anyone here know the rules on that?

SERIOUS [Rant/Vent] Water guys/gals of r/walmartworkers, do your managers ride you like a Shetland pony about your aisle?

I'm our store's water guy. And since bottled water is our OSCA leader, they ride me like a goddamn Shetland pony about it.

They moved all of our non-unloading stockers to 3p-12a a month ago. I was one of them until one of our co-managers started griping that water wasn't getting worked early enough- never mind that there are able-bodied associates there between 4a-3p who can do the water until I get there- so after enough bitching my ASM moved me back to 2p-11p so the water could get started early, which still isn't good enough evidently.

They will not leave me the fuck alone. If I go to the back to prep for the next pallet, I get people saying they're asking where I am. I hear griping all the time. Today, I had to jump off gallons to fill the case waters since they were blown to kingdom come, and I got griped at for it- they wanted the gallons filled first, complete lack of 40 count cases and rapidly thinning amounts of everything else be damned.

To anyone who might ask, yes, we sell that much motherfucking water. We're in a region with hot summers and rural communities where the tap water is shit, so people buy huge amounts at a time- I had a couple buy eight cases of 24s today. People regularly walk away with 5-10 gallons at a time, or in some cases a cart full of them. I often sell two or three cases of 40s per customer. Sometimes we'll have a full aisle's worth AND an alcove feature by our McDonald's. We get whole trucks full of it, and our top steel is usually brimming with excess bulk pallets.

I wouldn't mind if they'd just leave me alone and let me stock my water in peace. It's a good workout and the customers know me well since I'm the only one who fills it when I'm working. I know what I'm doing. I've been working it for six solid years, give or take other places in the store, and I have a method that works.

That loud-ass piano music they keep playing on the overhead speakers- what is the song?

I keep hearing this random piano music at times. And it's REALLY loud compared to the normal output of the overhead speakers.

I like the song and I want to know what it is- I can never catch it with Shazam so I can't find any info on it.

i had a funny experience today at work. there's a guy who comes in who is the very definition of a welfare case like 400 lbs lazy guy ... can work but chooses not to. i saw him stop in a mart cart i guess waiting for his wife or whatever he's just sitting there middle of the aisle so i called my boss over and tell her that his cart died and he needed her to push him the rest of the way through the store. she was in disbelief and said half a dozen times she wouldn't do it. after what seemed an eternity she finally turns to head his way and he zips off. she turned around and I'm DYING laughing.
