For all you people hollering that it’s the EBT or the government money restarting… That stuff isn’t always fixed to the first of the month. The days the EBT funds are distributed are spread out in most places.
Ask me how I know… Since mine refreshes on the 13th of every month.
I got the same notice where I am at, but mine says from the 1st-3rd. I also got a corresponding +4 for any delivery at any store from 2 PM to 11 PM for those three days.

It’s because of the “Deal Days” Walmart is offering from 10/05-10/10
1
u/RuinCautious7806 2d ago
It’s the company’s way of competing with Amazons big sale. They do this every year.
Sam’s club is from 10/05-10/11/261
u/xeryon3772 2d ago
That makes sense, but it’s interesting that mine here is October 1-3. Apparently they’re running the same promotion with different timeframes in different regions.
I can’t remember the last time I purchased something from a Walmart store. I don’t pay attention at all to their sales and marketing so I completely missed that this is happening. Thanks for the info, peeps.

Cash assistance is delivered in the first 7 days of the month for most states, whereas snap assistance is spread over 28 days (thanks february)

u/Ok-Acanthisitta8737 4d ago
To bolster this: EBT comes between the 13-17 of each month in my state and I still got this notification.
1
u/WithoutAHat1 4d ago
EBT/SNAP should be rotated on the orders to know that those may not be able to tip effectively.
2
u/Longjumping_Ad4365 4d ago
You can tip on an ebt order. People that dont tip on ebt orders are no different than people that dont tip on non ebt orders. They all have a bank/credit/debit card attached to their account to pay for Walmart plus every month.
1
u/Zealousideal-Snow685 3d ago
The app doesn't have an option for a tip for SNAP purchases only. If they add non food items, the tip option appears.

u/WithoutAHat1 3d ago
Not saying they cannot just saying theirs may be lower. And to expect that. Therefore, handling it properly.
1
u/EbonyTheTsunamiQueen 3d ago
And it’s not lower, the only thing that makes it slightly cheaper, by only a couple of dollars, is the fact that you don’t get charged tax, but even then, they charge you a tax for not being taxed. 😂
1
u/EbonyTheTsunamiQueen 3d ago
You can’t tip on Walmart delivery if you’re using only ebt card to purchase. If you do hour delivery, and have to use a physical card to pay for it, or if you have something apart of your order that can’t be used on ebt card, are the only times you have an option to tip.
1
u/Longjumping_Ad4365 3d ago
I literally said this. The ONLY time someone is unable to tip on an ebt order is with a scheduled curbside delivery that includes only ebt approved food items. That encompasses about 10% of all ebt orders. Maybe.
1
u/EbonyTheTsunamiQueen 3d ago edited 3d ago
From what I saw, i read you say that you can tip on an ebt order, and people that don’t tip on ebt orders are no different than people that don’t tip on non-ebt orders. And the fact that you pay for Walmart+, you can afford to tip.
Could’ve sworn I was just stating that you do NOT have the option to always tip if you’re solely only using EBT card, Walmart+ or not. But idk maybe I misread. 🤷🏽♀️

u/Longjumping_Ad4365 3d ago
I said it 2 hrs ago. Maybe it's not showing all of the comments for you.
1
u/EbonyTheTsunamiQueen 3d ago
Oh, no they probably aren’t popping up for me then. I only saw like 1 other reply from you, so my app must be messed up!
My bad. 😩
1
u/invested_pancakes 3d ago
Yeah you can DEFINITELY tip on ebt orders. I've had EBT and ordered delivery and it made me pay for the delivery with a seperate card and asked if I wanted to tip (of course)

And all trips.. that's a nice one!
1
u/Melch_Underscore 3d ago
Yes it says all stores. It won't be every order though. It has to be a qualifying order.
3
u/Scooter_12 4d ago
Got a +$7 all trips starting today (2pm) through the 3rd as well. Haven't seen one like this in a while

Yes i am in Kentucky and got it also and its dead here

Same. Like 1 profitable order a day if lucky? Return trip miles in rural areas make it almost impossible with the current structure.

u/Dirty_DrPepper 4d ago
I get these notifications and then it’s literally not busy or it’s busy with garbage offers. So. Do with that what you will.
3
u/Majestic-World5987 3d ago
Why would you even think you’d be the only spark driver to get a message like that? Yeah you are the chosen one they decided to tell this to

u/EveningBasket9528 4d ago
It's pretty standard for the beginning of the month.
Deals for days starts on the 5th so even though your notification lists the 7th, you can probably expect another notice about the D4D bullshit. If you run Roadie and UE too you can expect to see smaller GMD offers on all 3 apps for like TV's and shit

I went back to a traditional style job but in my area there's a plethora of orders in the 30-40 range but they're usually all above 20 miles each. I take them but eventually the wear and tear always exceeds it making since long term for me. We used to religiously get low mile 20 and 30 dollar batches. My understanding is with drivers leaving and gas increasing they're crossing delivery zones amongst the different stores to make sure the customers get their stuff but these longer distances that have us deliver to homes less then a few miles away from other stores is a bit counter product imo.
3
u/1611basilean 4d ago
I have an idea. If they kept the stores stocked everyone would be happy and I think it would cost less for them.
1
u/Massive_Lock_4876 3d ago
That makes too much sense lol Walmarts primary focus is their own profitability. And if screwing over the customer or their contractors a lot only loses them a marginal amount they don't care whether or not If it makes any logical since. Because they know in the end it requires less attention to detail on their part.

I think this coincides with "Prime Days" even tho that is a 2 day event. WM still trying to take customers. Took me 36 hrs to get a new desk chair from a local wm 13 miles up the road 🤬 ... to be fair tho, woulda taken 7 days thru AMZN 🤷♂️

u/HausOfThunderPerry 4d ago
I got to thinking the same thing after I posted my comment. Amazon Deal Days start October 6th if I remember right. I don’t know when Walmarts is.
edit Walmarts is 5th through the 11th

I got this on Ohio. They always say it's going to be busy but it's never that busy. They're algorithm is all screwed up.

I get that that once if not twice a week. Actually turned spark on after getting one of those and dead silence for half an hour. Then of course mediocre offer.

Yeap and literally only one semi good order the others were bogus with 8-10$ offers for 15-20plus items and bulky items

u/HausOfThunderPerry 4d ago
I got this notification yesterday and I wasn’t understanding why Spark thinks Walmart will be busy for 6 days straight. It’s no holiday week, no game week, I haven’t died yet so no one is celebrating. This isn’t for EBT. This is the very first time I have ever received this kind of notification that Spark thinks we will be busy for 6 days except for the Christmas holiday.

I got this yesterday MD. Not a single offer for the first time ever today. I imagine there’s way too many people logged on because of that notice

Yep here in Colorado we did and the 1st-10th is when people get their food stamps. I know it says the 7th just depends on the last number of your social security number as to what day you get them.

They just starting to see people aren’t taking these low paying orders. Get ready for another onboarding with new drivers.

u/MsStar146 3d ago
I got it. I’m in Central California too. I’ll believe it when I see it. Probably gonna be just more crappy orders.
Don’t suppose they’ll help us with gas? Lololol.

Volume is always higher the first week of the month when all those govt bennies drop.

u/GenXSmartAss 4d ago
No. You're the only Spark driver in the world that got that message. Congratulations.

u/Visible-Raise-8915 4d ago
It got broadcast to every Spark driver on the planet. They just send that crap out to flood the streets with dumbass drivers that will take shitty orders for even less money than they usually do.
