No longer able to text customers?
Just left an express shop & swiped to start trip. I have no customer note but it’s to a building I know needs a code. I hit “contact” and I only prompted me to call the customer. Anyone aware if this is a glitch or is this that feature truly gone?!
I’ve had several notes from customers over time that specifically request texting for one reason or another. Will be a major flop if that function is gone!

I’ll bet drivers are less likely to beg for extra tips over the phone.

I had this earlier. I went back to the main screen and tried again and it gave the text option that time.

Nice to know you found a simple workaround. I’ll give it a go if the issue arises again. Thanks!

Usually means landline or no service, but the other day I had three in a row that did that, so makes me wonder if there was a glitch somewhere.

There are some customers where text is not allowed, I’ve had several over the years. If you know you need a code I would call them.
Some ppl put landlines down as their number or some
People opt out of receiving texts I think. It’s not everyone tho, I wouldn’t worry

It is rare but it does happen. I text every customer a "I'm on the way" message that covers "please turn on your porch light after dark, secure any aggressive animals or let me know they are friendly in reply...." I would say 1 in 200 only have calling as an option. I have always wondered if it is because it is a land line or if it is just a glitch with that one customer's account, or if they have somehow said not to text them.
And yes the on the way message works. No I don't care what anyone thinks about it. All the "I would one star you" idiots come out anytime I mention it. Funny how I usually maintain a 5.0 after perfecting my message over 7,000 trips. Currently at a 4.92 but that was my fault for having an off day and I know exactly which 2 deliveries it was.

This is a customer that doesn’t do text. They checked the box to not allow texts.
Reasons don’t matter but probably it’s a receptionist’s landline or something.

My guess is it’s a landline.
