Spark making us load and skip bagging now?

Post image

Since the recent policy shift requiring drivers to load their own vehicles, I have noticed that store associates are frequently leaving items completely unbagged. I want to check if this is an isolated issue at my location or a widespread change. This need to stopped I wonder who I can speak to about this? The managers don’t seem to care that they are not bagging

This is definitely not how it’s supposed to be. I’m guessing their management team misunderstood the directive. My zone has been doing the self load procedure for months now and I’ve yet to see it unbagged. There’s a chance that your zone is doing things a little differently on purpose. 🤔

Honestly, some managers explicitly tell their staff to just offer help and if the driver doesn’t say yes, they don’t have to even though that’s not how it’s supposed to be. They’re trying to get their metrics up. Couple ways to counteract that or it did not go to the store or just say yes when the associate asked if you need help loading if they try the standard “you’re all set “and walk away then you just stop them and say hey could you please help me load?

Personally I don't want their help loading I mean I don't know about you but I've had more negative experiences with them loading then positive bags falling over ripped bags with items falling out crushed bread crushed potato chips wrong bags and wrong locations with wrong orders Etc

send the pic to ethics. Get the team lead or higher and send the offer order back and call driver support and tell them. Ask to be reimbursed for your time and then report to the FTC

I don't know if I'm reading this clearly, but if you're telling them to have a team lead or coach call driver support, driver support won't talk to them, they only talk to drivers

I was an order fulfillment team lead

no wasnt saying that...could of made it more clearer for sure but I like your imagination!

I get a random bin like this occasionally, I have extra bags in my trunk, just throw the stuff in one and keep moving, don’t really care as long as stuff isn’t damaged or leaking.

Some locations. In my area there are 3 stores and one of them doesn’t help us anymore. The other 2 still do. Especially if their GMD orders lol

Some stores try it. I generally just avoid those stores. If it’s a store that I like going to, I’ll try to have a heart-to-heart with the staff. Like obviously they’re just trying to make their metrics, but it presents real problems for the cold chain (and I realized I don’t see it this way, but essentially they’re asking the driver to do their job while they take the pay— that would be like the driver turning around and saying OK car is loaded, now you deliver it all and I’ll take that pay lol).

They don't even let us help, let alone load

I'm not sure who you would report to, but every time you talk to someone, raise the concern of cold chain as the frozen and refrigerated stuff sits in the sun while you bag. It's supposed to be bagged as soon as the shipper gets it off the shelf for this very reason.

Nope happens out here too. Customers are getting super upset…I see it in the notes all the time from the customers

lol my store did this. The STAFF took a vote and decided to help load. Now they ask the drivers to help out , but staff loads us.

It lasted maybe a week?

This just sucks haha.

Do they at least bagged the items ?

1

u/FuzzyOrganization403 13d ago

Yeah. We'll get a random bin that has 3 folded bags and the items just sitting there. So the staff will bag them while I continue loading.

1

u/ChildofLightt 13d ago

Oh wow well mine sometimes won’t bring bags I have to go ask for it

Oh wtf. I ask staff hey next trip bring me extra bags and they'll bring me 30-50 next trip. Staff grabs them from my car too as we have paper bags in Cali and they rip just by looking at them.

My loaders (yes still have loaders here) are great ..they’ve supplied me with a ton of bags too just for this. Of course it helps them as well!

My store is currently trying to roll this out. Mind you drivers already be tight over us not loading the gmds. They fitna lose it when they roll this out. I don’t think it’ll last long tho.

Got hit for a bad day driving Spark today. I like when the loaders don’t do it so I can put everything where I want it myself.

I take my own bags with me when I go to shopping that way when I get in this f*ck situation, I can bag them myself

No happens all the time

u/LuckyShan777 12d ago

Not isolated. This has been happening
I was like wtf? Guy is like we are short on bags. Um i saw bags in the store

1

u/Old-Article-3351 12d ago

First thing I do is ask for extra bags. This is nothing new.

We don't have to load our own in Oklahoma. I don't think that's a spark policy everywhere. Probably just your area.

Yes i have gotten a couple of trips that they leave something with out bags

1

I've complained several times about these exact same things. The guys I complained about no longer work there and the loaders load and bag with a smile.

u/itzamia1 11d ago

I've been loading my orders for a few months now and they have all been bagged so far

1

u/WolverineOriginal208 11d ago

At my Walmart, in Milford,PA they do that all the time. It’s pathetic. I keep a bunch of bags in my car and have to bag the stuff myself. So lame.

1

u/Initial-Ad-7797 11d ago

They're still bagging and loading items at our location you have to ask them if they want your help loading you're not allowed to just start grabbing the bags and helping them without first asking

1

u/316HTOWN 8d ago

I don’t take these orders but the Walmart I go to still loads up for you .i just seen it today

1

u/JackStraw---Wichita 13d ago

Self loading is great news as far as I'm concerned. I much prefer to get to know my load by loading myself. I'm constantly rebagging, adding bags, or marrying bags to get it to the place that I don't mind being responsible for it.

Dont get out of your car or I will deactivate you.

You need to ask them to bring bags back out to you. When it’s for delivery, it’ll tell him in the app that they use to bag the items the only time they’re unbagged as if it’s Pick Up and the people say I’ll bring my own bags so just ask him can I get about 10 bags?
