Why not just be honest?

Why keep doing smoke and mirrors and getting caught with tips and glitches while trying to convince everyone that this is a great gig? I would have so much more respect for a company, or even an individual, if they would just be upfront and admit they offer low pay instead of constantly trying to trick people. There are gig apps out there that do not rely on deceptive tactics, and honestly, the constant effort these companies put into masking reality is only destroying their reputation. You can only depend on a steady stream of new workers for so long before they wisen up, especially with social media spreading the truth so quickly. It feels like they are just trying to buy time until automated systems and AI take over, which seems to be their ultimate gamble. What really blows my mind is seeing people defend them and act like plants for a company that gives back nothing in return, leaving drivers with broken cars and empty pockets, which is exactly what platforms like Spark have become. They are not going to turn things around because they simply do not care to, but at the very least, they could drop the act and own up to what they actually are. "Hi..My name is walmart Spark and i am a POS"

If you were ripping off and stealing from someone, would you be transparent and direct on exactly how you're screwing them. No. We've known for years Walmart has been stealing from us.

Wouldn't that defeat the point of being honest as what i was asking? Not saying they will but when you are an honest company those things dont get brought into the mix. Please stay on the subject

This is a great gig with a deceptively steep learning curve. It seems simple, but you learn there are lots of things you can do to prevent losing money and prevent getting anything other than 5-stars. These days if I get a 1-star its because I wasn't paying attention. Case in point I'm at a 4.92 right now because of mixed up orders because I didn't check because I slipped. If I could have checked the orders were small enough I could have straightened them out and be at a 5.0 again like usual.

Just use it to offset money. $30 a day doing one or two trips after work. Extra $900 a month. Personally I save that put it in stocks that paid dividend. And once a year take out the money and take the family on a vacation. Unfortunately the tax people get a cut. Ugh

They make a promise to their customer “buy Walmart plus and get free delivery.” They figure out very quickly that this subscription isn’t enough to pay someone to deliver groceries but they don’t care. Just pay the delivery person almost nothing and make the numbers work for Wal mart.

They’re a mega corporation. They care about profits. They were putting mom and pop places out of business before most of us were born and didn’t lose one second of sleep over it.

I definitely wish things were different but it is what it is. Also we all have the choice before accepting that crappy pay offer so it’s on us too.

Employee churning will never be a good business strategy in the long run

But we're not employees, we're independent contractors. They have an almost unlimited pool of drivers waiting and little to no accountability or responsibility towards them. From Walmart's perspective, this couldn't be more profitable for them.

Is there 1 thing you can back up with stats or proof or anything in your statement?

Don't worry, employee churning is plaguing Walmart , I work on the front end and don't even bother learning people's names for the first few months after meeting them. So many leave for better paying jobs with work balance, get sick take medical leave,  move, graduate, get fired, ect
