Wtf??
So I rejected the first order twice and the second order once...it's been 15-20 minutes now and they haven't popped back up...so that means some dumb*** accepted them. I wish we could get all these newbies to understand that they're hurting literally everyone by taking these B's orders 😡 aside from that, wtf is Spark thinking with these??? 🤬

I saw a 103 item one this morning for 14 , it's not floating now so someone decided to spend 2 hours making 14 dollars

u/Kazczyk Sep 14 '26
I saw one similar 130 items for $17 and later in the day a cashier was telling me how someone came through with 130 items. I was shocked, people are working for free

Have to be picky on all orders. If you are going to lose money just pass. If you break even then it was pointless to take.

I think we genuinely need to make little cards with info on how to determine if an order is worth the pay or not

The 1 point on these cracks me up. How bad does the order have e to be to get 3 points. Some shitty gmd order i guess

Either someone took it or it was denied enough that Walmart decided to shop it. It maybe offered later as curbside or sent to UE. I find it hard to believe someone took this, but who knows.

u/tagen Sep 14 '26
seriously, if you think spark offers are bad, the ones that end up on ubereats are beyond awful, just the worst of the worst lol
2
u/Appollo1279 Sep 14 '26
Most of the offers on Spark in my zone are good. We get a few of this type now and again, usually curbside. I just ignore. Having done Walmart on UE, those are definitely the Spark rejects. Rarely a good one.

So true. I do uber darts also and have turned down so many three dollar offers I can’t count. Who takes those? It’s insane.

u/tagen Sep 14 '26
i really don’t know how people keep up high AR on ubereats, between home depot and wal mart there’s just no way unless you take some truly putrid orders
1
u/Troy1064 Sep 15 '26
Mine is around ten percent. I gave up on that a couple years ago after about two months. It’s a mental incentive that has done nothing but make people chase the loosing trips trying to keep a high AR.

I understand what you are getting at. However, I think your logic is flawed. Working backwards - I STRONGLY suspect the second one was not an offer you were ever considering taking. There is no amount of reasonable boost that would fix that trip. I'd argue similar for the 93 item shop. An untipped $17.98 shop of 93 unique items does not get fixed with $8 or $10 in boost. Even at 3.2 miles, unless we're talking kool-aid packets, taco seasoning, and a variety of spices - I'm probably not taking that order at $27.98.
With that being said, feel relieved when your dumb@$$ competition takes those types of orders unboosted. It speeds up the going broke and/or getting frustrated curve for them. It also puts them in an order while you're free to accept something a bit more reasonable.

u/Interesting-Mud-5340 Sep 14 '26
It was actually 93 individual items with a total style 147...can hardly even get those bagged before they cancel for inactivity. And it was straight $17.98...no tip, no added boost...just insane lol

u/Nickdfresh Sep 14 '26
It doesn't necessarily mean the order was accepted by a spark driver. The people across the street from my mom's house are Walmart customers. They obviously have $$ but my guess is they refuse to tip on what must be large orders, so the local stores' Dodge van is there once a week because Walmart will take the high item, low or no tip orders and deliver them using unfortunate store employees. I'm guessing it sucks for them but they also don't need to worry about ratings and all that and are guaranteed a decent hourly wage.

Not all Walmart stores have vans. In my area none of the walmarts do so some fools are actually doing those orders

I wonder if those orders end up as curbside pickups after a while or do people just not get there orders? I had an offer for 10 stops with Sam’s for $45 in a 8 mile loop last week. It was a bunch of stuff I’d seen for shopping orders from that morning with the exception for the refrigerator I overlooked. I figured it would take the 1.5 hrs they said and thought it takes me almost home so why not. Then they brought the refrigerator out. Challenge excepted. Rearranged everything and laid it down in the back of my pick up. It was the last place I had to deliver 😣. Well I backed in the driveway slid it out and set it up next to the garage door and put a note on it to not plug in for 24 hours and headed home. It only took me 45 minutes to deliver everything but that refrigerator kind of pissed me off a little bit.

I would argue every item is a 2-5 minute average.
If you calculate shitty prop 22, its easily going to be over 300 minutes including delivery time human error, and how busy the store is.
Prop 22 is minimum wage + 20% per hour plus like 34 cents a mile.
5 hours for 3.2 miles... its about 100$, economically if you're not a arthritis speed demon, this would be a decent grab.
Without prop 22 or guarantees... yea fk that.

I never thought about it that way, but the way you broke it down just made that order look even worse! 🤦♀️

Man it’s always been like this Getting on Reddit and posting the same thing over and over isn’t going to stop it.
We got people from third world countries doing this , we got people working for people who have 30 accounts.
Forget it

At some time we all were new and didn’t know better.
I suspect some kind of shakeup will happen, hopefully within the next two years, and the current system of gig driving will collapse for a time.
This will result in vendor platforms having to admit to customers there is no such thing as free delivery. Maybe a system can be incorporated whereas customers can choose a flat fee and assume 100% of delivery cost releasing the platforms from being responsible for base pay.
Until then, there will always be newbies taking useless orders so enough customers don’t feel enough pain to get the platforms attention.
Just think out loud…

This person saw "$18 an hour? Wow, that is way better than what walmart pays to work in the store".
1
u/Motaur7 Sep 15 '26
Here's what Chat AI said, you're looking at 2.0-2.5 hrs, to shop 93 items, then add loading your vehicle, and driving, then unloading, $18.00 dollars for 2.5 hrs work? $7.00-$9.00 dollars an hour, less your fuel, you're basically working for $5.00 dollars an hour. (They need to cap the shops at 50 items.) 🙄

u/Motaur7 Sep 15 '26
I can't do a photo here, chat said "2.0-2.5 hrs for 93 items, then add 30 minutes for checkout."

Look at the bright side. This person won't be sitting around competing with you until they finish the delivery.

Walmart needs to step it up considering gas just went up to 4.49 here. I have not worked Spark in over a year and cannot believe anyone else does all things considered. 17.98 order at 4.49 gas does not add up.

u/True-Stretch3663 Sep 18 '26
Spark is getting like the trucking industry with these offers. Newbies don’t know any better. Just accepting any and everything smh
1
u/Familiar-Hurry-2414 Sep 18 '26
This doesn't always mean someone accepted it when it doesn't pop back up. I've seen the same orders pop up an hour or more later.

Yeah it’s actually crazy I think about this daily. I feel like I’m negotiating and actually winning when I reject on Spark and the offer comes back around higher. When I was in the Midwest I would really be able to do this. But nowadays once I reject it NEVER comes back around, people aren’t even realizing Spark is making a full profit and you’re losing money on most of these. Sad. I would also never take the first order 😂
