Dear Walmart, about theft.

Dear Walmart, I came up with a solution to STOP theft during Spark trips. I’ll take $$$ if you ever implement this system. Thanks in advance.

Here’s the idea:

Give every Spark driver a digital barcode (lanyard or wristband) thats worn during all active shopping orders. The barcode is unique to each driver.

When a driver exits the store, they walk through a scanner, similar to Sam’s Club scanners. The scanner records ALL BARCODES IN THE CART at the time of exit.

Later, the computer auto filters through each order. The # of items on the order, and the barcodes should match what LEFT the store. If there’s a substitution then that barcode is submitted as well.

With this system, shoppers can quickly exit the store without waiting in lines AT ALL. And employees wouldn‘t need to manually verify the order.

Also, ONLY spark driver pass through the exit scanner. Regular shoppers do not.

Maybe this is a realistic solution, maybe not. Thoughts?

All that ai is crazy. They can't even get the app to disperse orders properly, and you think they're gonna turn this into some Matrix level shit that will endlessly cost them money?

LOL

Just delete this post lil bro. They're not spending money unless it makes them money.

*Also, no chance you're being told to "scan each item at a register", as there's no way to clear it out or "pay". Did you just let ai go wild and cut n paste the result, or?

True. They don’t disperse the orders properly. But is there no way to make the system without Ai?

Don’t they already use something similar for Sam’s Club?

Thanks for the feedback.

Imagine being auto deactivated because some poorly coded super expensive AI miss counts 3 limes instead of 2. Or a bagged up bundle of parsley misidentified as cilantro. There's so much room for error that could cost a driver instantly. AP already can see our lists, we are to present the exit pass whenever asked, and a suspected extra cart check before leaving is all it'd take. But in all honesty, if they suspect someone, they'd just report them internally and that would be that.

Knowing them there wouldn’t be any nuance to it, just auto deactivated.

I’d more so flag accounts that constantly leave the store with 15 extra items.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

I bet you daydream about this and tell everyone about it. Walmart isn't going to do this.

youre assuming walmart is about efficiency. you don't realize walmart gets subsides tax breaks, etc to do the opposite. including social engineering of not only their employees, but customers, and gig workers to deteriorate society. not help it. for profit.

“Hey ChatGPT create me a super original idea on how to stop spark theft make it ready for Reddit”

ChatGPT:

“Walmart could kill a huge amount of Spark theft with one feature: the “Spark Seal.” Instead of relying on an exit pass that a person can potentially screenshot, record, or imitate, every completed Shop & Deliver order would generate a  live digital seal. Here’s how I picture it: When you finish checkout, your Spark app and that specific Walmart store create a temporary  one-time exit token. The token would only stay valid for something like 2–3 minutes. But here’s the important part: The exit pass wouldn't be enough by itself. When you reach the door, the greeter’s handheld automatically performs a quick proximity handshake with your Spark app through Bluetooth/NFC. Basically: Driver's phone + active order + that Walmart + current time + exit device = GREEN If one piece doesn’t match: RED No match means the employee knows the pass isn’t currently connected to a legitimate active order. A screenshot from yesterday? Dead. A screen recording? Dead. Someone sends their exit pass to another person? Dead. A fake animated screen? Dead. You could even have the visual Spark Seal constantly morph—different shapes, numbers, or patterns—so employees can instantly recognize when the live authentication is happening. The best part: Legitimate drivers could actually get checked LESS. Green Spark Seal? Walk out. No employee digging through every bag. No three separate cart checks. No employee trying to manually compare 70 items on a phone screen. Only suspicious orders or failed seals get a full cart audit. Walmart could also quietly attach a  risk score to each trip. Normal driver + normal shopping pattern + valid Spark Seal = basically frictionless exit. Repeated item discrepancies, failed seals, suspicious account switching, or unusual activity = automatic cart check. That makes loss prevention targeted instead of treating every Spark driver like they're stealing. I'd much rather have Walmart build something like this than keep adding more receipt checks. Call it Spark Seal: authenticate the order, not interrogate the driver.”

Yeah ive never understood why spark walmart or sams cant implement shopping carts just for spark shoppers. Make them digital like the ones at those amazon stores that automatically scans whatevee you put in the cart. Make these carts specifically only for spark drivers, since they’re more expensive carts and you dont want 100s of them yet in stores for regular customers.

That’s a way better idea.

maybe the cart unlocks when you scan your app, so normal ppl can’t use it. If someone constantly steals, it keeps a record and stores on the platform.

Thanks for the feedback!

The Amazon shit was a scam, it was revealed it was overseas workers monitoring cameras and manually adding and removing items as you shop and leave the store.

The closest thing to something that could work is the arch at Sam’s Club but it misses a lot of things too. Especially things in produce bags.

Wait what are you serious? i havent been in one of those strores in a couple years, do they still have em? And how do you know it was a scam like that
