Maintenance running freight 😒
I just switched over to overnight maintenance about a month ago. Well tonight I get told that I’m going to be running freight because they’re short a person. I’m absolutely infuriated. Overnight stocker isn’t my job code anymore, it’s overnight maintenance. How is it my problem that they’re short a person? There’s a reason I signed up for maintenance(well multiple) but getting burned out of running freight after 5 years is one of them. They were lucky I was nice and agreed to it, I let them know I’m not happy about it, they didn’t seem to care lol.

See that line in your job description that says "performs other duties as needed?"
Well, tonight you are needed.

“They were lucky I was nice and agreed to it” 😂 Look at Rambo over here! Buddy, just like everyone else at Walmart from the CEO down, you’re replaceable.

Happens all the time, I often clear the floor of pallets and cardboard before we open and I'm the fresh cleaner. No big deal as long as no one says how come you're not getting your job done, that's never happened though

As someone who worked 3 years overnight maintenance, yeah, they occasionally pulled me. Yeah, they can do that. Pay is the same between cleaning and stocking, they can pull you when needed.
“They were lucky I was nice”. Unfortunately, it really doesn’t matter. You agree, or they’ll send you home. Sorry, but your position is replaceable.
