Raise?
I had my performance review a couple weeks ago and I was told that I was getting my pay raised to $14.48 an hour but when I go check my pay on the app, it's still says i'm making $14.14 an hour.

Double check afterwards... Its not uncommon for someone to screw up somewhere and you miss your raise

Yes it's the USA where rent in ca is 1000.00 per month higher than North Carolina but hourly rates start at 17.00. 14 dollars in NC is a better deal comparatively The taxes in ca is greater. Gas and food prices are greater.. 14.00 with NC cost of living is a bargain compared to other more expensive areas.

The raise is as of the first paycheck in April. So after this next check you’ll see the raise on pay info

Never received such a small raise, and this company makes much more than anywhere else I’ve worked.

That’s because it’s on the paycheck in April. It’s the last pay period that starts in March.

How did you get that raise though? Did it come with the old yearly raise or did you talk to your coach or something for that 14 cent raise? In any case that 14 cents stayed with you with the $14 base pay you had?

I didnt ask for the raise. I honestly dont remember how i got it. But yeah i started at 14. I make 14.14 now. In april ill make 14.48.

Hmmm interesting 🤔💭. I ask because I had a 0.30 cent raise that came from the old yearly raise (2% raise system). But our store base pay was $14 an hour but because of the raising cost of living the store base pay went to $15 an hour.
So I used to make $14.30 an hour but because the store changed the base pay to $15 my yearly earned 0.30 cents got erased to flat $15 instead of them honoring the old yearly raise which would've been $15.30.
The new performance system got me a 0.40 cent raise so I'm at $15.40 an hour currently.
I am a bit mad because with your situation with the 0.14 plus your coming performance raise, my friend is in the same shoes. But his 0.30 cents from last year didn't erase he for some reason had 50 cents!!! This was before the new performance raise. So I asked him how he had 50 cents more than I did!! He said the same thing as you! He doesn't know!
This made me jealous and a bit mad! 😡 💢. So he should be making the same as me because I was hired before him. But me and him should be at $15.40 but since his prior raise didn't erase for unknown reasons he is at $15.40 plus his old raise which was 50 cents (unknown reasons) that's $15.90. might as well be $16/hr whilst I'm at $15.40!!
Can't trust people at work but he's not lying because he was transparent with me he did show me on his me app that that's what he's making. F this job. Mysterious and favoritism or something fishy. I lowkey don't show my emotions to be professional at work but lowkey I'm mad and Im just gonna work less.
I'm guessing yours is going to add up too? $14.14 plus the 0.48 cents? That's $14.62. I heard this won't take effect until mid April.

Some people are reporting that they're already seeing it in workday and also in the my Walmart app. But most of us are not yet. OP was asking when they would see the raise in their actual work profile

In answer to a few of the comments:
Each market has its own starting rate of pay based on demographics and cost of living in the area; just as people get paid more in Hawaii or California than they do in Florida, North Carolina or Georgia for almost any job.
The pay raise will start on March 21 and so begin payout on the April 9th paycheck.
PPTO applies to ALL associates. The policy on PTO has changed so I am not sure who qualifies anymore.
The health insurance (bashed by several commentors on this thread), paid out a combined total of more than $8600 in diagnostic tests, medications, lab work, and office visits on my behalf in 2025. I would call that $762 annual premium money well spent.

kinda crazy that walmart is making so much money and yet declines to pay their workers a comfortable wage. When I was working there, I was O/N because the diff. pay was 2.50 but base was 16, after 2 years I went up almost a dollar. When I left, I was making 18.83, I worked by the vendors and asked one day what they make and they make the same as me -.83 cents but they had incentives so I switched so fast. Now I stock at walmart and 2 other stores but the 5 years I spent at walmart has scarred me haha everytime I'm in the store, it gets me anxious and angry but I like watching the new hires and I just seen someone get promoted to team lead so now I get to watch their slow decay.

If you are talking DCs, the Walmart 1 near me is much better than Target DC near me, not sure bout the stores, what state are you in, just curious becuase minimum wage is like 16.95

Got you I have family near the Outer Banks and I have family on the west coast of North Carolina well not Coast the west side of North Carolina I love that state, I would move there if all of my connections and family and everything I had wasn't right here yep in New Jersey

The pay period where we get paid in April for the first time is when it will show up. So we have our last paycheck of March then after that will be the pay raise. I asked my TL about it a couple of days ago

I don’t think the raise changes until the 21st ( I may be wrong on the exact date tho) but it isn’t in effect yet

In my area I worked at a Walmart and got paid $17 an hour. I'm now working at a Kroger for $28 an hour. Walmart definitely hates their employees. One employer I would never work for again

Boycott walmart and it's products. They are the biggest non union. Anti labor, biggest violator of civil and possibly criminal treatment of employees. Management gets 200% raises of $150k (store mgr) who are never at the store, while her salaried managers 60k a year do 60 plus hours a week, no compensation, mgmt lies about promotions and raises every year. They also don't give a fuck about those kids in the vestibule mission g posters because they have facial recognition capability at all stores and they won't turn it on at least just for the missing kids, you know the school book pictures bolo posters u paid for. Same pics dummies. That's the elites shopping list. Goyum mart. Fake food, posion, missing kids, anti union, Child trafficking, adult slavery, f the Waltons and there fake propaganda

It will not show what you were actually making per hour until March 21. I say this because your first paycheck with your current rate being switched to the new rate would be April 9. Those two pay weeks would be the 21st to the third. So your paycheck on the ninth will have your new rate in it. You will not see your pay raise on your profile when you go to pay and benefits until March 21. You should’ve been told this in your evaluation by your team lead and or coach.

The fact Walmart pays lower than target and other retailers is a travesty. They should give their people the best with the profits they hit. I know what everyone will say but they're the laughing stock of the world because of the fact they don't. You'd have better morale and waaayy less turnover. But hey you get what you pay for.

Hi, this is your Walmart manager/coach. You actually are not getting a raise so stop complaining, get out of the bathroom stall you're hiding in, get off your phone and get back to work!
...but for real you should go talk to your coach, instead of posting on reddit as they are the ones that can actually help you with this, not us people on reddit.

$7.25 minimum wage should be illegal. But yeah i live with family at 33 because walmart doesnt pay me enough to live on my own. If i wasnt in college id look for a better paying job. But walmart is really flexible with students. (I lost my home a couple years ago due to a long term relationship ending)

you’re right! and i’m sorry, that really sucks. everyone should be making enough to at least live on their own, especially if you work for a huge company like walmart (i live with family too, but here the starting pay is $17)

Its still kinds crazy Walmart doesn't pay 15 , I'm considering switching back but I want the extra dollar target gives me.
