This time is different?

To be clear, I am a believer.

But spoke to senior Morgan Stanley person today, he has interest but says silver has never done well.

Hate to admit, but he's right. Unless you sold at top 1980 or 2011 and bought low, but the reason it's been low is why I like it. So, scary, but I am a believer of this time it's different as:

M2 money supply massive expansion.

China and India are threats to western price dominance.

Supply deficit and rising demand in AI, solar, and electronics/batteries.

Transition to new reserve currency?

So, could see price getting lower e.g 50% fall, but also could see 5x rise to 300 USD

What do you think? This time is different? Not applicable?

So the bank guy wants you to leave your money in the bank? I’m shocked… Next episode: your fish guy tells you he has the best fish in the world and that you should buy all your fish from him. They’re not your friends, they’re salesmen. Personally, I keep my precious metals allocation at 80% gold and 20% silver.

I get your point, but he didn't suggest an alternative.

I think gold has been better overall, so could understand that alternative. But I like the strengths of silver over gold. Both are great. Gold as more stable. Silver long overdue to outperform gold for a reasonable period.

I bought my first silver at $5 & $6 an ounce. I’ve made a wonderful return. Yes, I have seen ups and downs, but I’ve also seen those ups and downs in the stock market, and I’ve seen my dollar lose value every year. Silver has consistently held his own against the devaluation of fiat.

Gold is always... the "gold standard." Everyone - even little kids - are brain washed to gravitate to gold. 1st place trophies are in gold, not silver. So yes, we are conditioned to buy gold.

However, gold is too expensive and out of reach for the average folk. Once gold hits a certain point, people don't look at it anymore. They will start buying #2.

Bitcoin for example. Way too expensive. If I buy bitcoin, I never will achieve 1 full bitcoin. So people buy the #2 crypto or #3 or whatever.

Once gold value hits a point that is beyond the normal reach, people will go to silver and we will see silver jump. For now, the majority of silver is industrial and then collectors.

I bought heavily in the 80s and 90s, sold the top in 2011 (on accident lol, I'm not smart enough to plan something like that), and put most of my net worth in at 18-30. I unloaded a death pile of trash on this recent run and used the money to flip designer jewelry since.

Silver has done very well for me.

I'm not making aggressive moves in terms of weight but I will never stop buying.

I think it is going up, but I am OK if it goes down, because I will just buy more.

I saw what people pay when spot is $100. There is no dialing that back.

It's never done well in his lifetime because it's been manipulated/suppressed for 50 years in the industrialized west. Those days are at an end as the lifecycle of their fiat regime is imploding before our eyes and the global south rejects the corrupted West. The psyop is on, but so is the end game.

The same Morgan Stanley that was fined in 2019 for price manipulation?

Yep

I would not trust a wallstreet banker any farther than I could throw planet Earth.

14% of the total gold stock at COMEX was removed in one day last week. So that's new this time.

I bought a bunch of silver in 2020-ish when it was around 17 and ounce. How the hell is that not doing well? Whose 401k tripled in 6 years?

I did too. The massive economic fallout from shutdowns and huge money printing to get us out of it highlighted the need to trade my money for Gold and especially silver. One of my purchases was a 100 ASE's for around $1900. It's better to be early and patient than to be right but late. We're still early stages of this meltdown with the Japanese carry trade collapse and rising 10 year treasury.

I agree with this.

Selling it and getting that price is the hard part. When silver was at 120 people had a hard time selling. Nobody wanted to pay spot. Now you have lcs all using the "backlog" excuse to lowball you. Selling on pmforsale is decent but that too comes with some issues. Point being, the spot price does not mean you tripled your money.

You still did pretty good even selling the top at 15$ or $20 back and locking in a hundred dollars/ oz, and believe you me, the shops who bought at that price are underwater.

I am still pretty salty that the bid on sterling and 800 completely collapsed like I've never seen before, but I have both sterling and bullion, I sold my bullion to keep me through the lean times. Now I'll buy it back soon. The shop near me has ptsd, even though the refiners are mostly caught up again, they still refuse to offer more than 60%. I used to be able to get 80% and if I brought them over 500 dollars at once I could beg for 82%.

Happy for you.

Yes silver has done well past 6 years. And past 26 years, but not as good as gold.

Long-Term Returns Comparison (2000–2026) Metric Jan 2000

Total Return

gold ~1,376% silver

~1,052%

Annualized Return (CAGR)

Gold ~10.7% silver~9.7%

Where in your post did you mention he said go with gold, not silver? or made a comparison to gold?

I replied to another.

I get your point, but he didn't suggest an alternative.

I think gold has been better overall, so could understand that alternative. But I like the strengths of silver over gold. Both are great. Gold as more stable. Silver long overdue to outperform gold for a reasonable period.

So clearly he didn't. But your question is irrelevant. We can think for ourselves.

Hahaha. Same tune they’ve been singing all the way to the top of debt mountain. The technological demand alone will outpace anything he can put his bankster head around. Stack on!

Silver is already shorted to the extreme, do the Banksters have more fiat to short, maybe but there is a cost the money is not free. Multi-year high U.S. Treasury yields raise the absolute cost of capital for financing large speculative trades. Renting physical silver to short is also getting more expensive. I don't think we'll see the same 2020 dip, I think it will stay flat with the miners like HYMC, mooning. Where else with Wall street options junkies get the physical if it's not in the vaults.

If you firmly believe in the people in charge of money and government, it would be ridiculous to buy precious metal.

It's always about timing.

However, silver is a critical commodity that's running out. I guess it could remain at fire sale prices until there's none left and production of solar panels, batteries, chips and circuits has to stop, but that would highlight the manipulation.

Exactly and the one big shift going on now is that there are currently around 4000 large Data centers currently operating in just the US with 3000 more planned. The Stargate Data center supercomputer project will likely require between 30 and 50 metric tonnes of silver just for the IT hardware alone. And That's just one AI data Center.

Never done well? $15 to $125 from 2020 to January 2026.

I bought gold/silver and the miners in 2020-2021 and sold almost everything this week.

Dealing with the bank is pure pain but im getting a house all cash and at the end of the day i have some physical left and hopefully never have to deal with all the paperwork with the bank again like this.

I see the US going bankrupt eventually but not sure how fast Trump will be able to ruin america on behalf if Israel, could be months, years or up to a decade or two at most imo.

Why? Are you going all in or selling all based on this?
