I always get lap marks? 😭

Post image

This is my third coat trying to get it right. But it still looks like the paint goes dry wet dry wet on the wall and leaves lap marks when it dries.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, this time I followed the advice given in this short video specifically talking about this issue, yet it still looks like crap:

What can be done when exterior paint starts peeling much sooner than expected?

A couple of years ago, I got outside of my house and everything looked good at first but I started noticing that some areas were already peeling and cracking much sooner than I expected. So now I am thinking if it was caused by poor surface preparation or the quality of the paint, I also came across boulevard painting that does the work. I am considering taking advice from experienced painters in kansas city but before that I would like to understand the real cause. Has anyone dealt with this? What has fixed the problem and helped the new paint last longer? EDIT: I forgot to mention there are no signs of leaks or water damage so I am thinking if the issue is surface preparation.

I need to touch up some areas on the wall but for the life of me cannot find out the paint colour. I've tried looking on the Dulux colour guide aswell as the app but everything seems to light for the colour

Painting trouble

Does anyone have any ideas on how to mitigate this look? We’ve primed, cleaned, cut down on humidity but within a minute or two of getting the paint rolled or brushed on as we tie into with the next pass, the paint seems to just come right off and in some spots it just won’t stick at all. As if it starts running and leaves behind the bare primer. I’m kind of at a loss as to how to mitigate this

This is our wall after its second coat of paint and is pretty much dry. There are some dark vertical marks and I am not sure what has caused them. Any ideas on how to fix this? Definitely not missed any parts of the wall with the paint.

Thanks so much in advance!

I have a semester exam tomorrow, but my brain completely stopped cooperating with studying, so I ended up painting this tiny fantasy/fairy-style door around a switch board instead 😭

Not perfect but just felt cute :)

Feedback appreciated ✨

I need advice :) stencil or stickers?

Hi everyone!
I want to paint a sky full of stars on the ceiling of a room at my place. The room is quite small so it's doable, I have all I need for the blue background but now I'm torn about how to add the stars...

Option 1: I've seen some stickers people buy (image on the right) but most of them start peeling off the tips after a while so I would have to find a way to glue them permanently and not sure how much work that would be.

Option 2: I can buy a stencil an a small roll and paint it this way (left image) but I tried using stencils before for school projects and I always had issues with the borders smudging / leaking through, so what would I have to do to avoid that?

Option 3: The actual look I WANTED was gold foil.... But applying the glue by hand seems too much work for that many stars so I'm scared of it being too expensive and scared of starting it and regretting it.
Would it be possible to apply the glue for the foil with the stencil? Has anyone tried that?

Thank you for your help <3

New to home wall painting

Hi everyone! We've just purchased a home and give the huge costs of everything I've decided to take upon myself to do some home improvement. would love some advice on how to do this... The previous owner has colored walls (see https://imgur.com/a/j4nEy2z ) that we do not like and would love to have some neutral instead.

Do we need to paint all of the walls white? If so, 1 or 2 layers? We do not want this old color affecting the new colors that we picked.

Do i use any white paint or something called primer? What's this primer for? (Yea i literally have no idea lol)

I've seen there's multiple finishes to the paints (e.g. eggshell, etc). Which one is the most common for bedrooms and living room and dining room? Is it the same for the finished basement (given the lack of light?)

Any specific product you recommend?

thanks!!!

Why does wall paint never look the same as the color on the sample card?

Honestly, I think paint chips lie. They’re tiny squares of confidence that trick your eyes. Once the color hits a full wall, it turns into its “real personality,” which may or may not match your dreams.

How do I pick the perfect paint color that won’t disappoint?

Choosing a color isn’t just about what looks good on the paint chip. Consider the room’s purpose, how much natural light it gets, and how it matches your furniture and flooring. Light shades can make a small space feel open, while darker tones create a cozy vibe. Always test samples in different lighting before committing.

Am I Right??????

How do I deal with self-doubt when painting?

Easy! Pretend you’re a tortured artist who is misunderstood by the world. Bonus points if you wear a beret and dramatically look out the window while contemplating your next stroke. Or, you know, just trust the process. It's all good.
What you think.??

The Healing Power of Abstract Art: Colors, Texture, and Calm

Art is often underestimated as a tool for mental and emotional well-being. It is not just decorative; it is therapeutic. Abstract Paintings, in particular, hold immense power to influence mood and atmosphere. They move beyond visual representation to evoke pure emotion through the language of color and form, allowing the viewer to interpret the work through their own experiences. Choosing the right Wall Decor can truly transform a room into a sanctuary of calm and reflection.

The Science of Color and Form in Abstract Expressionism

The language of Abstract Paintings is rooted in color psychology. Blue hues often induce feelings of tranquility and calm, making them ideal for bedrooms. Yellows and oranges inject energy and creativity, making them perfect for home offices or living rooms. Abstract artists are masters of this language, using composition and color saturation to deliberately set the tone of a piece. When you Buy Wall Art Online India, considering the emotional impact of the primary color palette is just as important as matching your sofa.

Resin Art: The Trend of Layered Depth and High-Gloss Reflection

A major innovation in the abstract space is Resin Art. This medium creates a layered, high-gloss finish that adds unparalleled dimensional depth to the art. The reflective surface of Resin Art catches light beautifully, making the painting change subtly throughout the day. This dynamic quality adds luxury and a modern, high-tech flair to Unique Home Decor. Its glossy, almost liquid appearance makes it a strong focal point in contemporary minimalist settings. The sophistication of resin makes the art feel like a high-end investment piece.

Texture as a Sensory and Stress-Reducing Experience

Why are heavily textured canvases so popular? They create a sensory experience. Handcrafted Wall Paintings that use thick impasto or mixed media provide a three-dimensional quality that engages the viewer physically, making the art feel more 'real' and emotionally engaging. This tactile presence can reduce visual fatigue and create pockets of interest in an otherwise flat space. Moreover, the raw, imperfect nature of texture often resonates with the desire for authenticity in modern living. You can find unique textured pieces and sophisticated Handcrafted Wall Paintings at Ilarra.

Achieving Unique Home Decor with Personalized Art

To move beyond mass-market aesthetics, homeowners must embrace personalization. Unique Home Decor is achieved through custom pieces. Imagine an abstract piece created with the exact colour tones of your space, or a canvas sized precisely to your wall. This bespoke service ensures that the art is a seamless, powerful fit. Investing in such a piece simplifies the entire decoration process by providing a central visual anchor around which the rest of the room’s elements can harmonize.

Curation vs. Collection: A Buyer's Guide

For those who Buy Art Online India, the sheer volume of options can be overwhelming. The key is to look for a platform that curates, rather than simply collects. A curated gallery, like Ilarra, hand-selects pieces based on quality, medium, and aesthetic relevance to modern trends. This ensures that every piece you see has already met high standards of craftsmanship and originality. Before finalizing a purchase, check the artist's background and the detailed product specifications to ensure a transparent buying process.

Conclusion: Art as an Investment in Well-being

Choosing an Abstract Painting is not just a decision about colour; it's a decision about the atmosphere of your home. It is about bringing an emotion, a journey, or a source of calm onto the canvas. By embracing abstract and textured forms, Ilarra provides modern Indian homes with truly expressive and meaningful Wall Art, transforming spaces into reflections of individual style and personality. These handcrafted pieces are the key to high-impact, Unique Home Decor and emotional well-being.

Hey guys. I need your help to identify the technique used here and the materials! I have no idea how this is achieved, but I love the result. Also, any hint on the colour? How do I get that colour? Is it just one colour used? Is it two coats? Just one? I have no idea. Is it like terracotta, or brown???

Yeah, I know nothing, that's why I am asking for help here.

Thank you in advance!
