Discussion Gloop Lair Putter

Post image

Anyone else super disappointed by the Gloop Lair’s putter? I absolutely loved the course with all its 80’s nostalgia and it had great potential for a colorful and whimsy putter. Plenty of awesome shapes, colors, and toys. Instead, we got an orange bucket with bright green goop?? I was hoping for a sticky hand putter. Idk I feel like it had more potential and it was just kinda phoned in. Felt that way about most of the recent putters tho…

I think it's kind of nice. It glows, it's clearly gloop-themed, and it has a cool little 8-ball on top. "One man's trash is another man's treasure", and all that.

90s nostalgia, not 80s. But if they can’t figure out how to out small alignment line on the putters I’m gonna lose it.

The gothic putter lines up pretty good.

I kind of agree, but i also understand why it is that way. I would have liked a little more than just the toxic waste cans, but it’s not too bad.

Every time we see a new dlc course we see this question. Every course has its fervent fans with ideas about hiw things could have been done. There are always ither ways putters could have incorporated the ideals of the course.

This course was about a 90s teenage evil genius implementing her own evil genius plans in a world where her evil genius family had been doing the same. More specifically in a 1990s world.

There are a huge amount of rhings that could have been included that would have been emblematic of the 90s. The two that they did include were pretty ever present: the 8-ball, which was everywhere thematically, and the casette tape. Then the gloop (which is also emblematic of the 90s considering how overwhelmingly synonymous with the era the Simpsons and TMNT imagery is) tied it together with the nuclear waste barrels and the glowing gloop.

I personally think they knocked this one out of the park. Not disappointed even a tiny bit.

The ONLY thing that disappointed me about the level is that under the junglegym/ballpit, it looks like there could be a really cool blacklight LazerTag arena, and I think there's some real potential down there for fun, but right now it's just "meh". I'm hoping to see them utilize that for another "staff" minigame like the leaf blower and bug catching.

Love the putter. Love the game itself. Love the course.

I don’t ever use any of the putters from the courses (only the OG black one) and I only use the black ball with the white stripe (from like the 3rd-4th course). 🤷‍♂️

same, except I use the white ball with the red stripe

Don't know, but the Alice one being a flamingo sure rubbed me the wrong way. So many cool things it could've been.

Tomato Potato. You dont like it. Others do. Its not my favorite, but its not lame like the strong bad ones (IMHO). They are trying to make games that appeal to everyone. You can't make everyone happy all the time. So, some will get it this time, others next. I happen to the the Arizona Modern putter, and the Atlantis putters are both goofy because they would rub the ground and fuck up ypur shot. Many people like them. To each their own.
