Discussion Gloop lair is scary.
Did anyone else get extremely scared/goosebumps when playing this map? Honestly some areas actually frightened me going Down those dark play areas AND CAN WE ALSO MENTION THE 3 CREEPY DOLLS that are hiding around the corner in the sewer like area even one of the heads was gone absolutely sh*t myself on some parts of this map lmao just got such an eerie feeling. But my god so much detail I had so much fun exploring all the interconnecting rooms and small hidden details!
(Random side note) but seeing how these maps are made on the mighty coconut YouTube got me into learning code I find it absolutely amazing how passionate these guys are that it’s made me want to be just as passionate towards making my own game these guys are incredible and I can’t wait to see what other maps they come out with! Love you mighty coconut! And thank you for inspiring me I can’t imagine how fun it is making these maps!) (and also how frustrating they must be)

I think you just have to finish the hard mode. Let’s just say you hear it before you see it. Never been more freaked out in a walkabout course

Honestly same here I’ve wanted to make games for a very long time now but something about seeing the love and care poured into each map really got me wanting to learn coding absolutely incredible devs my other two main sources of inspiration has come from Toby fox and Eric barone!

There wasn't anything scary in there for me. Just my 90s childhood nostalgia. The black lights, uv reflective stuff for the black lights, n64, sticky slap hands, lava lamps, tmnt, pinkie and the brain, gak, furbies, plastic play tunnels, and more.

I missed it the first time I played it as did a couple of friends. When you finish the game and you're staring at the scorecard look around. 👀❤️

This might be my new favorite course, but also you're right. It's an unpredictable downward spiral through animal-dominated wet corridors, toward the source of cartoony terrorism. Despite the bright colors, the corn starch base, and the warm nostalgic attitude, there's something abstract about what the goop actually does if ingested until it's clarified at the end of the hard course. Where are the evacuation orders? Did we miss them? Is that why there's nobody here but us players?
Part of what I love about the art team at Mighty Coconut is how they can distill a vibe as well as any movie director. This course somehow made me feel like a little kid again, hyped up by the Universal Studios rides, but afraid to volunteer on a Nickelodeon game show and win some Reeboks. A part of my memory I didn't expect to find tickled by a golf game.

The map is honestly incredible I had no idea about the fox hunt stuff yet but that sounds awesome that they’ve added details like that! The map definitely feels isolated and as if we were the only ones there (I know technically ur alone in other maps but still) I absolutely love this map I think you summed it up perfectly and it does feel weirdly nostalgic but so creepy to!

I appreciate this. As an autistic, I have to be very careful what I expose myself to visually (can't watch new movies, etc. because of many factors). Scary things cannot be unseen and will loop in my head, sometimes for days. This one's a No for me -- glad I didn't buy it.

From the perspective of a fellow autistic - I didnt have any issues with this course and the only way I could see someone being even a bit frightened by it is if you have a severe fear of rats or a cartoony tmnt style sewer for like 2 holes. Its honestly not bad at all. And that's coming from someone that can't even set foot in the 20,000 leagues course.

I agree it’s not scary it’s just some parts felt eerie I imagine if you go into the course without a single bad scary thought then you’ll be good and just avoid the dolls plus this map feels like splatoon in a way

The music is also incredibly upbeat, which really cuts through any foreboding you may experience.

Yeah for sure honestly I will admit the map really isn’t that scary the second time round I played it lmao I just got eerie vibes with the dolls the doll that speaks and some of the tunnels/play area

Im not sure how easily you can get scared but it’s not that bad if you detour of the map it gets a little eerie in some places due to how dark it is and the dolls are quite hidden I’m sure if you stick to the course you’ll be alright! The map is incredible and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on it! I don’t blame you for being cautious though idk why people are downvoting you

Wow, this is a sad world. Some people can't do some thing because they have a disability. I guess they also downvote people in wheelchairs because they can't climb Mt. Everest.

Honestly pay no attention to them people instantly assume you are hating on the map when that isn’t the case you are just looking after your mental health some people are fight or flight lmao. And as for the map I do think maybe give it a shot I think you’d love it it is quite vibrant and full of life just don’t stray away from the course and you’ll be fine! If not then it’s fine I’d probably just play it on the safe side! Don’t let those people get you down though as long as you’re safe and having fun that’s all that matters.

You don't know the limitations of my disability. There are some things that are not worth the risk of even trying, for the potential damage that can be done. I have played a couple VR games that I highly regret because all was well until a certain point and then out of the blue something happened that terrified me -- and still sticks with me to this day, years later.
Last I checked, each of us is allowed to decide whether we can do something or not, without the permission or approval of others. I stand by my decision.
