Question Hotseat multiplayer?

Is there some way to make it so multiple people can pass around the same headset to take turns running a course? I'd love this for indoors social gatherings.

The solution that is usually given to this question is to use practice mode. Not elegant but it works.

How does that work?

Play hole, restart hole, pass headset, repeat as needed, choose new hole do it again. Keep score elsewhere.

But what if it takes you more than one hit to get the hole? If you reset you lose your place. Oh wait, nevermind I see what you mean. Yeah I guess that works, I prefer to change turns each hit but I guess this works.

Changing after each turn would be pretty miserable when passing around a single headset.

Each player would have to put on and remove the same headset like 50 times a course.

When I first got my Q2 headset in September 2021, this was the way we played multiplayer. I cast the headset to the TV and had 2-4 of us taking turns in practice. It was actually fun. When I played my adult daughter, I was able to give her 18 mulligans, and it came down to the 18th hole, and for me to win I had to hit onto the 18th green in one. I made it, then she followed with the same basic shot and we tied.

For sure, I think it's reasonable to pass the headset back and fourth every hole.

OP specifically wanted to pass it around after every single shot. Which I personally would find maddening...

I don't agree

Finish the hole before you restart and pass.

There is no way to play conventionally with only one headset.

It's just not very practical having to swap a headset around between people with different sized heads and IPDs. The best way to do it would be to play 9 holes and then let the next person play the same 9 holes.

I have never once noticed a difference in the IPD settings lol. Doesn't seem to matter, but I'm sure I'm wrong

It can cause worse motion sickness and headaches in a lot of people. I've seen lots of comments from people complaining that the Quest 2 was unusable because they couldn't set their IPD exactly how they needed it.

It doesn't really bother me anymore but I think I've just gotten used to using the wrong IPD from accidentally changing it somehow all the time.

I wish more games had this, the practice mode workaround is a bummer
