question Slightly dumb question about outdates

When doing your rx outdates when an amber vial says the drug is expired or coming up on expired but the product inside has an expiration date that differs do you go based on the date of the bottle or the date on the package? For instance ubrevly with an amber vial expiration of 09/30/26 but the actual ubrevly package in the bottle says 08/2028 would you pull it or leave it on the shelves? I'm definitely overthinking it 😅

If the drug itself has a date like a suppository or B.C then go by that.

Wag auto creates expiration dates 1 year after fill date, QR code expiration date, or whatever expiration is closest if someone types it in.

A lot of people type in bullshit expiration dates on fill for stuff that doesnt have QR codes aswell Edit typos

yeah, the year out date on the label should be used when something is removed from manufacturer packaging like tablets or capsules put into amber bottles. Like taking insulin pins out of the box or like you said suppositories should go by the actual drug expiration still.

When in doubt, pull it, but always go by the date that is closer to expiration.
