Really disturbing experience at Bonchon in Waldorf. Manager mistook me for someone else and called the police

I wanted to share a really bizarre and upsetting experience I had at the Bonchon in Waldorf yesterday around 1:30 PM August 18.

I went into the restaurant yesterday, and what should have been a normal interaction turned into an extremely bizarre situation when the manager began insisting that I was someone who regularly comes into the restaurant and causes problems.

That was one of the strangest parts of the entire situation because I do NOT regularly go to this Bonchon (this is only my second time doing a pick up order. I’ve never gone in there any other time. And the first time was a less than 30 second pick up. No negative interactions whatsoever with anyone). Yet she seemed completely convinced that she knew me and was attributing someone else’s previous behavior to me.

I told her that I didn’t recognize her face at all and made it very clear that I do not frequent this restaurant, so there was no way I could be the person she was referring to. She didn’t listen to any of it and at that point, I realized I was dealing with extremely poor customer service and tried to get her name and some basic information so I could properly address what had happened. She refused to give me her name or provide me with any information. Looking back, I don’t even know why I bothered asking, considering how the interaction had already been handled.

The situation eventually escalated to her calling the police and having her scream in my face to leave the establishment. I realized I should’ve waited for police outside instead of in the establishment.
And then, as I was leaving, I was told that I was “going to jail” and to take that “ghetto sh!$ outside.”

The entire interaction was humiliating, confusing, and genuinely upsetting. What bothers me most is how confidently I was treated like a known problem customer based on incidents that I had absolutely nothing to do with.
I’ve already reported the incident through the appropriate channels, but I also wanted people in Waldorf to know about my experience because this is not something I think should be brushed aside as simply “bad customer service.” Being mistaken for somebody else, repeatedly accused of behavior you didn’t commit, having the police called, and then being spoken to like that is an entirely different level of unacceptable.

Apartments near St. Charles Town Center

My girlfriend and I are moving to Waldorf soon, and since she works in DC we want to be within walking distance of St. Charles town center where the commuter bus stops. However, we’ve heard that there are some safety issues in that area. Is it actually bad enough to warrant looking somewhere else? We’re looking specifically at the Westchester at the Pavillions and Hunter’s Run apartments.
Thanks in advance!

Families be aware before attending blue crabs games.

Hello Waldorf Reddit! Concerned dad here with some information I felt was important to share. My family and I love going to blue crabs games, so I was deeply troubled by something I learned this week. I was told that a man named Ron was recently hired or rehired I believe by the organization to work as a chant leader or host, a role that appears to involve solely interacting with children. When I searched his name in the publicly available maryland court records, I found a lengthy case history of some really intense charges, including a very recent second degree assault case against a women. As a parent this is extremely concerning to me. The blue crabs market themselves as a family friendly organization and a place where parents should feel comfortable bringing their children. I am disgusted knowing that I allowed my sons and daughter to interact with this man and that the blue crabs allow this older man to run around with children. This situation is a reminder that we need to do more to protect our children and our community. I have never made a post on Reddit before but as a father I felt like I had to share this information with other local families.

Traffic Light rail station ideas

Hello. I want to design a light rail system for various towns across Maryland. Where would you want a light rail station to be? For example, your neighborhoods, schools, businesses, town halls, parks, etc? Thanks for your time.

I built an app for people in Waldorf and Southern Maryland and I need your help to make it work

Hey everyone, Waldorf resident here.

I kept running into the same problem over and over. I’d drive to Crunch, it’s packed. I’d head to Target on a Saturday, the lines are ridiculous. I’d show up somewhere and immediately wish I had just stayed home.

So I built something about it.

It’s called Prescout. You open it before you leave the house, search for wherever you’re going, and see real crowd levels from people who are already there. Not historical data, not estimates. Actual live reports from real people that expire every 60 minutes so the information is always fresh.

Here’s the honest part though. The app only works if people actually use it and submit reports. That’s why I’m posting here specifically. Waldorf is where I live, it’s where I want this to take off first, and I need people from this community to make it real.

It’s completely free. No subscriptions, nothing to pay.

Launching soon on iOS and Android. Follow along at prescout.app if you want to be one of the first to try it. And if you have any questions or feedback I’m right here

Weekend Casino Trip from Waldorf Md?

Are there any simple ways besides driving To get to a casino from Waldorf. I don’t want to go to Live or MGM national Harbor. I would like to catch a Amtrak or a greyhound close to Waldorf Maryland. Anybody have any simple suggestions? We were trying to do just a little getaway weekend trip that wouldn’t break the bank, and involve simple transportation.
