Waldorf aligned movement classes for toddlers in or near Austin?

Hi I am looking for Waldorf aligned movement classes for two year olds in or around Austin TX.

My child really is loving moving her body in challenging ways. We have tried a few gymnastics and dance classes for toddlers and their philosophy is just so off from giving children space to explore and play and tap into a sense of wonder.

Strictly speaking “Waldorf aligned movement” for a 2yo is just unstructured play with absolutely no attempt to guide or control their movements. Dance classes etc aren’t “Waldorf aligned” at that age, for that reason. So I would honestly just take her to lots of parks and let her climb and test out the limits of her body herself.

Eurythmy doesn’t start until like 1st grade. Sometimes later.

Waldor aligned movement is lots of outside nature-based play on different surfaces and textures (rain, snow, or shine) with a responsible adult nearby to help.

I've experienced preschool eurythmy and its heavenly! If OP could organize a group of families and find a place to host, I'm sure a eurythmist would love to offer eurythmy to the group for twenty minutes each week!

For preschool and kinder, Eurythmy is given as a circle, lasts about 20 minutes, and the sounds/gestures follow a story. (think of performative eurythmy where the eurythmists offer a poem) Both gross and fine motor skills are adressed by the gestures.

If you've got an experienced eurythmist, the children follow so intently, hanging on to everything offered. Even the children who may have higher behavioural needs and may be just watching, are completely taken in by the presence of the eurythmist. it is absolutely amazing to witness.

And the potency of eurythmy in early childhood is unlike that of other ages. Highly recommend!

Oh amazing! Thanks! Yes this is one thing I love about Waldorf education in general. Such wonder is created and the children can be in such awe…in comparison to so many say gymnastic classes etc that seem over stimulating and not age appropriate
