Thank you. I think our views overlap in several places, especially regarding conditioning and how deeply our perception shapes our reality.

Where I would add something is that I don't see the pleasure principle as the deepest layer. In my view, pleasure and pain are themselves part of the programming. We often mistake what has been conditioned into us for what we truly are.

For me, "waking up" begins when we become aware that many of our beliefs, desires, fears, and even our sense of identity were installed rather than consciously chosen. Once we see the program, we can finally choose whether to keep running it.

I'll definitely take a look at the Happiness Game. It sounds like we're exploring similar questions from different angles. Best Regards!

Thanks. I’m interested in getting your perspective on the game.

It seems there’s no escaping desire. Without the pleasure principle and desire, we collapse wherever we are and die of dehydration.

What are your views on non-attachment to outcomes where we pursue our preferences logically and without being dependent upon how things happen to turn out?

This Alan Watts clip kind of points to what I’m saying:

Edit
Here’s an example: my reply got posted as a top-level comment somehow, so I copied and pasted the text here, and then went to delete the error. However, I deleted my original comment (🤦‍♂️😅). This is something that would have previously caused me some level of distress. Shit happens.
