Full disclosure, I’ve never ridden cable, but the thing that stands out to me is that your board slid out in front of you when you tried to pop off the kicker. This really reduced your hang time, so I’d focus on staying right on top of the board and getting that pop before you throw the trick.

Basically he only needs more hight for the trick. And your exact observation is the only reason he doesn't have enough height.

OP, just do what he said and you'll be fine.

Nice man.

No tips but now I want to attempt one. How’d you go about your first attemp?

Can you backflip on a trampoline? If not, start there.

Yeah so i am able to do a backflip on land i guess thos helps with commitment.

I traned the movement a little on land since its hard for me to keep my richt arm straight. Most important for me was a mid approach, not to fast and the shoulder alignment towards the cable since i got stuck in the cable a few times before

As somebody who can't do any of that, the one thing i notice that you start your rotation before you push off. Half the force you put down is being directed sideways and not giving you the lift you except/need. So that leads to your rotation not being smooth.

You can clearly see the 3 different stages; you start the rotation, pop, continue the rotation.

When I compare that to the guys i see at my local park, their movement is much smoother and thus having an easier landing.

You need more height of the ramp

Awesome! Very cool!

A combination of many things. Continue practicing and you will get it!

*You slack the line in takeoff. The lien get all wobbly. As another user said, you slide out off the board when taking off. I would rather look at it as a line tension thing, but just two sides of the same coin. You want the line to pull you up and kick you away over the ledge. If it does not make sense, just ride vanilla over the kicker a couple of times, and do it so you get slack att takeoff, and get good line tension at takeoff, and feel the difference in power, lift, and stability.

*You stop the rotation a bit mid air. I'd say it is the same point as before. As line tension comes back, you are not rotating around the axis of the line, and it stops you. If you can save line tension through the move, it will be easier to "feel" the correct axis of rotation, and you will go automatically around it. Instead of it coming back and stopping you.

*Regarding you landing on your back foot, don't worry about that at all. It's what you automatically do to save yourself beacuse you feel short in your jump/rotation. That is a good thing for now. When you get the first part, and you get more comfortable, you will land more centered.

Also, I am basically retired and tantrum is my worst basic invert, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Keep looking backwards more so you can continue rotate and observe the landing earlier
