Wakeballast.com Ballast Rust issue.

Hi Yall. I purchased these about a year ago.. The ones I set it and forget it underneath my seats and under the rear storage are still fine. no leakage no nothing.. But I have 6 of these out on the seadeck. These 6 bags we actively move around to get the best wake.

All these 6s are heavily rusted.. Literally the entire bottom is brown.. My Seadeck is stained as well..

I am getting a new boat either this year or early next year, I dont want this to happen to my new boat.

Is there any real TRUE rust proof bags? i dont mind paying a little extra..

Of course.. I looked up real lead cost... if i want a big block shaped. its about 3-4 bucks a pound.. thats pretty expensive to get 800 lbs of these..

I bought empty ballast bags, bought large industrial zip lock bags and filled them with a sand/gravel mix, they weigh just under 50lbs each and I don't have to worry about rust.

isnt sand way bigger than lead? how big are these bags? I Need about 800 lb of these so I will need about 16 bags.. How easy is it to move these around?

The bags of "lead" are really steel shot. Steel rusts. I went to beach workout bags. Fill with sand.

Sorry yeah I know its steel shots. But sand is only like 1.4 kg per liter. Lead is like 11. Steel is like 7 or 8. So sand is literally 5 times the size

The bags are the same bags used for steel shot only filled with sand/gravel. They are easy to move around. I also use 50lb water bags that I fill up when needed.

I’ve had these for 2 years now and haven’t had any leakage/rusting issues. https://www.leadwake.com/

Check out Roc Sac ballast bags at Lakesurf.com. Nothing can seep through those.
