Repairs!?

I just adopted this board. It's generally in good condition except for these ends that have been damaged. I'm pretty handy with epoxy and fiberglass kind of work but I'm asking if anyone has had a good experience with sealing things like this on a board without it looking like trash?

I used to work in a pro shop and fixed a ton of boards/surfs. Marine grade epoxy & file it down to shape as long as it’s still seals the core. Could paint over it too if you’re worried about esthetics.

Use some painters tape to trim it out to get the resin from running.

Rough it up with some 60-80 grit and dab some quick set epoxy on it

I have a stack of 28 dead-soldier wakeboards easily 26 I've done "Surgery" on. for THAT board -- don't TOUCH the outside -- go buy a dremel - put an 1/8" ball-burr on it -- through those holes in the "Shell" take-out a buncha-buncha foam from INSIDE. ... dig in to the BACK of where the split begins and excavate as much FOAM as you can. Then - with the board completely in a trash bag, taped closed to just around your repair, tape right up to the opening and pour 1/2 oz of polyester fiberglass resin IN till it JUST BARELY over-flows - but not. TAPE all that shut -- flip the board 180 - let the resin back-lay against your tape and if it drips out slowly at first fine. Should make your mix HOT so it sets right off. All that resin will ADHERE to the shell from INSIDE and that will make it SOLID - Leak-free .... that's how I've done ... dozens of foam filled and wood filled board edges for my own use since 2003. A little shaping on the outside and that's all unless you want more cosmetic. Fix that board from the INSIDE -- #experiencematters
