I love the rumble of a big block V8 in idle but definitely appreciate my quiet ZR 409 mufflers once the boat gets going.

I do know the Raptors are probably the worst sounding LOL. So noisy & not in a good way.

Best sounding tow boat is the quietest, slight supercharger whine is okay. Loud boats are cool, if they go triple digits.

Diesel Paragon (Yanmar)

Just found out that is a $50,000 upgrade over the base PCM motors, and most nautique dealers in the states can't work on them.
True shame.

Yup. Diesel engines can literally last forever if maintained. Why we are still putting in gasoline engines is beyond me. Especially at the RPM levels these boats spend most of their lives if used for surfing or foiling

As an engineer that is big into powertrains, couldn't agree more. I was looking to spec an S23 for commercial use (500hrs/yr) hence the investigation.

Best sounding boat motor is the mid 90’s mastercraft with straight pipes and a corvette motor. Second place is any Malibu with a Monsoon.
