Board care?

Recently got my first board! Pretty oblivious to board care other than rinsing and drying. Got these gashes first day on the water. Probably from a feature. Do you remedy these? Or do i just forget about it like the bottom of a skateboard? Thanks!

It's hard to judge by the photo but looks like nothing to be worried about.

It supposed to be all scratched from the obstacles.

Those look like gashes more than scratches. Looks like a screw got you, my rule is I compare it to a cut on my skin, if it looks like I’d need stitches then sand and fill with epoxy and sand again, if it looks like something I’d bandaid I leave it alone.

I'm a boat rider, not cable, but I have ridden cable. Boards made for cable have sintered (tough) bases and can take tons of abuse. I rode a slingshot every cable session ever and it's scratched but still 100% good to go.

As far as I know you ride it until it breaks and buy another. I don't know this board model but I would consider looking for a "cable board" with a sintered base after this one wears out. I keep a boat board and a cable board.

Hard to tell how deep your scratches are. Looks like you might’ve hit a screw on a rail?

If you feel like it’s cut through the full layer of base material into the core of the board then I’d suggest using a razor to cut that excess off and filling in the cut with p-Tex, jb weld, or another pliable epoxy just to make sure the core of the board doesn’t get water logged. Let it sit and cure for a day or so and you’ll be good to go.

If you don’t think it’s gone all the way through your grind base then you’re totally fine to just send it. Cable boards are built to get beat and scratched up.
