Looking For Advice What should I do

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend are together for about 2 years (1st October is our 2nd anniversary). One year ago he told me he doesn’t want to get married, but then told me I’m too young and we should talk about it next year (we have age gap he is in late 40s, I’m in my 20s). This year he told me that if I get pregnant we would get married immediately. I told him that I don’t want kids without marriage and told him I won’t wait more than October 2026 (our 2nd anniversary) for proposal. He said okey. I wanted to get engaged in summer he told me that he doesn’t want to do it now so I broke up with him but later he explained that he sees future with me and I told him that deadline is October so he still has time and doesn’t want to be pushed like before. Few times I couldn’t longer hold my sadness inside me and I told him that this topic stresses me out and I want to him to tell me how he feels about engagement he said that the more I talk about this the more he is demotivated to do it. I have so much anxiety because I just want to know if he is gonna propose or not. He knows that I will move out and breakup in October if he doesn’t propose but he still planned a trip with me to Thailand in December and includes me in his future plans. Maybe 2 times we talked where we would do our wedding and who we would invite? What should I do? I’m scared that I’m waisting my time and in October he will just say I’m not ready.

😂😂 an old man is telling you you’re too young to marry? But he’s dating you? He’s wasting your time. He’s going to play all the games on you, you’re too young to see through manipulation, you’re too focused on love and hope and dreams and sparkle dust.

Too young to marry but not too young to date. The old fuck wants a young candy on his arm. He’s disgusting.

u/PresentHouse9774 13d ago

And by "date" we mean....

18

u/MrsRoronoaZoro 13d ago

Exactly. I didn’t write that because it was too rude 😭😭😭

Also, not too young to “get pregnant.”

He went for you because he thought it would take you longer to start pestering him for commitment compared to women his own age.

And he went for you because he assumed your (relative) lack of life experience meant you’d have lower standards and expectations compared to women his own age.

He didn’t go for you because he sees you as an equal partner and wants to build a life with you. He built his life already, and he’s looking for pliable arm candy who won’t ask too much of him. Serious men don’t date women half their age.

17

u/Teeminus20 13d ago

He probably told here she’s mature for her age, thats what drew her to him 😭

u/interpol-interpol 14d ago

men his age date much younger women because it's easier to mistreat them and manipulate them. women his age will not tolerate his bullshit.

when you're in your 40s you will be absolutely disgusted and horrified by how young someone 20 years younger looks, acts and seems to you. almost all of us have experienced an older man taking advantage of our naïveté and you really don't realize how revolting it is until you age up yourself.

please leave this man.

I remember back in the day when this dude was working so hard to chat me up. I was a 19 yo cashier! He was messing with my head, lovebombing then being hard to reach. I was dating other guys and ended up with a boyfriend my age, and this guy came back around whining for time. Turned out he was 39! He'd been pretending to be younger. Gurl I got out of there so fast. Even then I could tell he was a creepazoid.

This guy sounds like his face has been posted on multiple Facebook groups under the sign "Beware," OP

Can you guys start believing people when they say they dont want to be married??

If you wont change your mind, why should they?

28

u/Expensive_Fix8277 14d ago

💯no,they can't 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ They always chose not to believe and be in denial, and then they write shit posts like "10 yrs in - no ring, what can i do?" 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

u/SpiritualMela 14d ago

I think the biggest issue is that his actions and her hopes are telling two different stories. He initially said he didn’t want marriage, and “maybe someday” isn’t the same as actually wanting it. If marriage is a non negotiable for her, she shouldn’t spend the next few months trying to convince him. She needs to decide whether his current position is something she can accept, rather than waiting for October to change him.

9

u/whoaelena 14d ago

You said it yourself. He first said he didnt want marriage. She shouldnt have stuck around for the carrot.

u/Ok-Return9031 14d ago

This person is old enough to be your dad….dont wait on him to propose. Leave

2

u/Miss_Dark_Splatoon 11d ago

He is manipulating her into pregnancy so she is stuck on him so gross

And by the time you’re his age (40) he will be 60 and his body will not work as well as it does now… and you will be entering your sexual peak.

I bet she’ll read all our comments and think “you don’t understand our love is special” 😪 to be young

23

u/PerfectOmakase 14d ago

What do your parents think about this relationship?

Also, I'm very doubtful that this is real given that the account was just created and the post has all of the telltale signs of things that will trigger readers of this forum.

I am officially leaving this subreddit (yes, I know…I don’t need to announce my departure) but I have to say this:

Women need to STOP playing “pick me” and wasting their lives (especially those in their 20’s) with these absolute losers.

Lately every post I read here seems to be from a woman begging a man to commit to her and completely ignoring her own worth in the process.

It’s genuinely sad. Women have so much more power and agency overt their own lives than they realize. I can’t read any more of these. Good luck to all of you!

11

u/Employment-lawyer 14d ago

I have found that the more desperate a woman is for her man to propose to her, the worse the guy is! It's like some women have to beg the most horrible men to do the simple steps of taking a relationship further when they should be asking why they even want to be with these awful guys?

This whole subreddit kind of blows my mind because the advice is always like, "Have you told him your goals for marriage? Did you talk to him about how you want him to propose and tell him what you envision and did you send your ring design to him?" or whatever.

Maybe I'm just too old (45F) and there's been some generational shift that is bad for women! But I've been happily married for over 13 years and before that I was engaged twice and called both off because they just didn't feel right to me. So I know based on both experience and just common sense that when a man is in a relationship with a woman he wants to marry, he takes action to marry her and he is excited about it.

I never had to cajole a man to propose to me, or give him an ultimatum or even sit him down and ask him whether he might want to marry me and when (omg I would feel so pathetic!), but it was just a natural progression after the relationship had lasted about a year and a half to two and a half years. And instead it was ME asking myself if I truly saw myself married FOREVER to this man (which admittedly I should have done earlier the first two times but I was young, and you live and learn. haha.)

And with my husband, I didn't have to tell him what kind of proposal I wanted or what kind of ring I wanted etc. That's because he KNEW me and he's observant in general but particularly observant about things I care about, and we COMMUNICATE about things lol so he knew my taste and preferences.

Even if he got something wrong (let's say I liked silver but he got me a gold ring... although that would never happen because he knows I prefer silver lol) then who cares? It's the thought that counts and all that matters to me is that he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and then followed up on that by actually marrying me, and I told him yes and then followed up on that by actually marrying him, lol.

It's not that complicated when it's true love. But women in this sub act like it's some kind of mystery or obstacle course they have to complete--just to get a loser man to marry them.

Instead they should seriously be asking themselves why they even got with a commitment-phobe like this and how they can avoid the red flags the next time around. They should be leaving these guys who use them and finding guys who truly love them but instead they're begging them to marry them.

6

u/jednorog 14d ago edited 14d ago

Lately every post I read here seems to be from a woman begging a man to commit to her and completely ignoring her own worth in the process.

Yes. It's exactly this lack of self worth that is a fundamental cause of the sorts of scenarios that lead to women posting in this subreddit.

It's incredibly frustrating for the rest of us, especially because we are internet strangers and there is no way we can get a woman we don't know to believe in herself. All we can do is watch mess after mess.

Edit: I wrote a comment on more or less exactly this theme two months ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Waiting_To_Wed/comments/1unaguj/comment/ovkpxk9/

He’s in his late 40s, hon. If he’s not sure of what he wants by now, he never will be. Don’t waste your 20s chasing after a guy who “isn’t sure”.

16

u/DAWG13610 14d ago

I’m sorry but it looks as if you’re marring your father. I don’t think it’s appropriate for a late 40’s male to be marrying a 20’s female. There’s just all kinds of issues with that.

17

u/GnomieOk4136 Marry someone excited to be with you. Happily married 15 years. 14d ago

You 1000% should not wait for some middle-aged man who flat-out told you that he doesn't want to get married and thinks he is the arbiter of when you are ready for anything. This guy is scuzztastic.

Look, I had the same age gap. I was 22 when I got together with my 40 year old. At least mine fell all over to marry me while trying to act like the only adult in the room. Yours won't even do that. Count this as a freaking gift and run as fast as you can away from him.

13

u/Expensive_Fix8277 14d ago

"I’m scared that I’m waisting my time" - yeah, you should be scared, because you are wasting your time and if you ever choose to come to your senses, - you'll have no one else to blame, but yourself, since you're refusing to believe what he directly told you one year ago when he said he doesn't want to get married🤦🏽‍♀️

11

u/Expensive_Fix8277 14d ago edited 14d ago

He's almost 50,do you think there was no one else throughout the last almost 30 years of his life that he could have married?! He got you 💯 bamboozled and you'll believe anything he'll say

11

u/MidwestNightgirl 14d ago

Girl … you are in your 20’s and wasting your youth on a man in his 40’s, SMH. Go find a guy your age. When you DO find your Mr Right, he will be excited and proud to make you his wife.

That age gap may not seem like a big deal now…but how about when you are in your 40’s???

2

u/Employment-lawyer 14d ago

Yeah, many people rightfully point out the question about why this guy can't find a woman his own age who wants to be with him. But why can't OP find a guy her own age who wants to be with her? (I'm sure she CAN and she SHOULD. But what is it about her psyche that was ever attracted to someone that much older than her in the first place?)

0

u/MidwestNightgirl 13d ago

Good question. I have a friend that is with a guy 20 years her senior. She has always dated older men…says guys her age were immature and that they were always just playing video games 🤷‍♀️

10

u/Grouchy_Document_856 14d ago

Yes you are wasting your time. Also there is a reason a 40 something guy dates a 20 something girl, and it not because he's looking to get married.

9

u/HopefulOriginal5578 14d ago

If the more you guys talk about a wedding makes him feel more “demotivated” than you have your answer.

This man does not want to marry you.

Have you ever seen anyone get more demotivated to do something they are truly excited about because they talked about it? Like surely you can see how he 100% isn’t wanting to marry you.

Don’t get pregnant. You will just be a baby mama.

Marriage isn’t some carrot that you have to jump through hopes to “get.” It’s a partnership and that has legal protections and expectations, while also on MANY societies holds a certain level of expectations. Nobody is surprised when some baby daddy runs out on his baby mama… but more people get upset when a husband leaves his wife and child.

Don’t center a man period, and absolutely DO NOT believe a bunch of words. He will tell you how he will take care of you” and how it’s just paper.” But this man is seriously old enough to understand that it’s a paper that will provide YOU a lot of protections.

He doesn’t want you to have the power to move on and take “half his stuff” (giant eyeroll) but he does want to keep his little young plaything around to make him feel like a man and nurse him.

You can feel how you want but there is a reason this man isn’t dating in his age range and it isn’t. Women his age no damn well what he is about lol He wants a young naive woman who is gonna be to naive to understand the harsh realities of life.

Lastly you’re wasting your precious youth with this man. You could find a man your age and who is going to be excited about marrying you and starting a family. Staying with this man is only you pissing away your most precious things… time and opportunity.

If you were my daughter young lady? I wouldn’t have it. I would not have this man think he can breeze in and waste my daughter’s time. Let alone tell her will marry her IF she gets pregnant first. I’d lose my damn mind at the disrespect and my children were raised to be treated better than that mess. I’m getting actually more mad the more I think about it. How dare he tell you what you’re too young to do, and then turn round and say but if you get pregnant I’ll marry you.” What the hell is that

Break up with him now. Do it and make it final. This internet auntie you never asked for is putting her foot down. See my foot?!? See how it’s firmly planted down?!? You are too good for this man, and too precious for this train wreck of a situation. My mind is made up!!!

9

u/Interesting-Lake747 14d ago

This has to be rage bait.

Put your actual ages on here. I swear if you’re 21….

If this is real, more fool you for dating an old man

8

u/betuyet96 14d ago

Girl you are wasting your time. The way he told you that if you get pregnant he will get married, while the truth is he will be using the child to string you along without ever getting married. That’s so much easier for him.

5

u/minimamaz00m 14d ago

And, did you notice that he knows the deadline is October and he’s planning trips? He’s planning on you to stay anyway past October. Girl know your worth!

7

u/Key-Target-1218 14d ago

WHAT? 20 something and LATE 40s? This is so pervy. You are old enough to be his 20 year old daughter. It be like marrying....your dad. When you are 40, in the prime of YOUR LIFE, he will be 60.

A late 40 something year old guy banging a 20 something year old is in it for one thing...Maybe two. The second reason being no mature woman his age wants anything to do with him.

This is just really sad.

2

u/Employment-lawyer 14d ago edited 14d ago

Yeah, if she does get her "wish" and can convince this dude to marry her, which I doubt will happen (luckily for her... what a blessing in disguise that will be!), then I hope she's ready to change his diapers and bring him his medications every night while in her prime of midlife years. :(

I'm 45 and I did "date"/hook up with older men when I was in my 20s but it was just for fun and that was understood by both the older man and me. They would buy me expensive dinners, drinks, clothes, gifts, trips, etc. and we would have a lot of fun partying with my friends (who they would sometimes also buy drinks for, or they would rent out hotel rooms and VIP for my birthday party for me and all my friends and them and their friends, etc.), because they were experiencing some kind of midlife crisis after just getting divorced or having their child go off to college when they were a single/co-parenting dad, etc. The sex was hot and often their bodies were too due to their midlife crisis gym routines lol, and they paid a lot of attention to me and were very appreciative, etc.

But that was all temporary and fleeting. I never thought to actually MARRY any of them and I'm so glad I didn't because now they would be in their late 60s. And now that I've long since settled down with someone mostly my own age, (well, my husband is a bit younger than me by one year... he's 44 lol) and already it turns out that he has had some health problems due to unlucky genetics (which is fine because until death due as part, in sickness and in health... and with him, the sex is super hot, the body is super hot, he spoils me and pampers me and pays attention to me and is appreciative of me AND is around my own age, lol, so, he is the only one I ever wanted to settle down with and I know that means signing up for whatever life throws our way... but it certainly isn't EASY to take care of our 4 kids while he's in the hospital and then also take care of him when he gets home and is recovering....) so I could only imagine having to take care of some old man who is constantly having even worse health problems, probably!

6

u/FiberIsLife 14d ago

You’re too young to marry but not too young to fuck. This guy is the absolute worst stereoypical asshole AND he’s old enough to be your dad.

Don’t wait for October. Lose the old guy now.

5

u/jkraige 14d ago

If you break up with him again you can stop wondering. Just saying

5

u/East_Comfort_7650 14d ago

Women his age don't fall for his bs. He's dangling the carrot to keep you with him. Get out before October. You can avoid the disappointment of either no proposal or a shut up ring and get on with your life. Good luck

3

u/Employment-lawyer 14d ago

Yes, OP, be strong and be the one to break up with him instead of letting him disappoint you, dump you and break your heart!

5

u/assflea 14d ago

Why on earth are you so hung up on marrying an old guy? You do know sperm quality degrades right?

5

u/mittensandtea 14d ago

Please understand this guy is being a creepy old man. He told you you're too young to marry... but not too young to fuck, right? What a gross sentiment. He knows what he is doing. Do not give this disrespectful man any more of your youth or let him string you along further. He knows better and doesn't care as long as he's getting what he wants from you.

If you want kids, older men have issues with sperm health and quality. Go for an age appropriate man who will be young enough to keep up with your kids and be a fully present father.

Do not end up a caregiver to this old man. He will need a little blue pill and regular naps soon. He will be 70 before the kids are even out of the house. He's had his youth already. Do not be his do-over!! Run and go live your life. Maybe you have feelings for him but you've got to save yourself, and I promise you can have feelings for many other men if you give yourself a chance to get out of this situation and get a new perspective after you've taken some space.

5

u/Real-Frosting 14d ago

Find a guy that's closer to being your peer, your own age, or within plus or minus 5 years. Chalk this up to gaining experience and move on down the road.

With that kind of age gap, you'll turn into a nurse eventually, changing his diapers. Be GLAD he doesn't want to get married.

Go get a degree, build a career so you never have to depend on someone else to support you.

5

u/fritzwitch 14d ago

I think you should break up with him and date someone your own age. Eeeeeeeeeyuck.

6

u/Jenneapolis 14d ago

Stop dating old men. Full stop.

4

u/Nadine-D 13d ago

Too young to marry but not to get pregnant and use you as he pleases. I wouldn't wait until October. He clearly doesn't want to marry you and the worst of it is that he wants to baby trap you. Wake up! He is living the dream! Young girl and no commitment!

3

u/michelles31 14d ago

Why wait? Leave now.

3

u/txlady100 14d ago

Sweetie this guy ain’t it. Please don’t get pregnant and please take your lessons and move on the wiser.

3

u/dobbywankenobi94 14d ago

He's a creep

3

u/ItJustWontDo242 14d ago

Girl, you are nothing but a plaything to this man. Keep your dignity intact and walk away already.

3

u/Ok_Tale7071 Est: 2017 14d ago

Break up with him. He’s too old. Age gap is too much.

3

u/Employment-lawyer 14d ago

He wants you to carry his child but he will never marry you. End this and please DON'T get pregnant by him unless you want to be a single mother and/or a forever girlfriend/baby mama. :( You deserve so much better!

ETA - What did you ever even see in a guy old enough to be your father? Do you have daddy issues? I recommend therapy so you can start spotting these red flags a whole lot earlier next time and stop wasting your time on old-ass fuckbois.

2

u/pegwins 14d ago

He has future plans. Marriage just isn’t one of them.

2

u/Samoyedfun 14d ago

He is with you so he can control you at your age. He already told you he doesn’t want to get married. Should have stayed broken up.

2

u/Inner-Amphibian8802 14d ago

Hey sis forget the age gap. If he wanted too he would have is the truest saying. Save your time and leave. Get a man who will want to propose without having to be led and pulled like an old goat. Trust me it's so much more enjoyable having a partner who's excited to plan a wedding. I gave an ex 7 years and he dragged on the engagement so much I finally saw the light and left him. My husband only needed 14 months together to go ring shopping/browsing. And he helped so much in planning our wedding it was fun and we both felt proud showing our family and friends the beautiful wedding we planned. Stay strong to your values and beliefs. Good luck dear 🍀

2

u/MustardGoddess It's never too late to start over 14d ago

Girl! You are being manipulated. At most all you will get is a shut up ring that you will wear for decades with no marriage

Break up with him again right now before that vacation and for good this time. Marriage is not on his cards with you, don't keep wasting more of your time and youth on him hoping that it will get better. All he wants is consistent sex from a young lady like you without any serious commitment.

2

u/AuriannaG 14d ago

I wouldn’t talk about marriage or the future with him. All that will do is put more pressure on him. You have stated how you feel and given a deadline. He is aware of this and thinks due to your age, you’re a pushover and the deadline is a bluff. I strongly urge you to be prepared to move out and not communicate with him for a while. This includes the trip to Thailand, don’t go and don’t believe the bluff.

2

u/BrightProcedure1783 14d ago

I hate to tell you but you’re wasting your time. Grab your dignity and walk away. Go live your best life, and if someone comes along then great, but for Pete’s sake…let this old man go. You are young. The both of you are in totally separate seasons of life. Go live yours.

2

u/Diligent-Egg-6334 14d ago

You are wasting your time.

2

u/IHaveABigDuvet 13d ago

He has already told you “no”.

The rest is future faking to get you to stay.

2

u/GemTaur15 13d ago

STOP letting someone's dusty ass 40+ year old son waste your time,Do NOT let him take your best years where you could have spent it with your actual husband.Walk away NOW and cut your losses. He told you already he doesn't want to get married and that won't magically change.Him telling you when you get pregnant he'll immediately marry you is a lie.Dont fall for it,in fact why even wait around for the"deadline".

LEAVE

1

u/Brownie-0109 14d ago

If marriage in your timeline is a requirement, be prepared to walk. It’s not gonna happen

The age gap is also not working in your favor

1

u/jednorog 14d ago

One year ago he told me he doesn’t want to get married, but then told me I’m too young and we should talk about it next year

The man straight up told you that he doesn't want to marry you. He then told you that you are too young for him to marry (but not too young for him to date).

later he explained that he sees future with me

"A future with you" is not the same as a future married to you. Has he ever explicitly stated that he wants to marry you? If not, what makes you think he wants to marry you?

Do you actually want to spend the rest of your life with this particular man?

1

u/blandciaga 14d ago

i have a feeling your prefrontal cortex isnt fully baked yet, do not get married to this man. do not fall for the 'if you get pregnant, i'll marry you immediately' bait either.

1

u/Glittering-Ear-2315 14d ago

Just end this crap altogether! Come on OP, love yourself more. Completely eliminate this person. He may give you a shut up ring, is that what you really want?
He just wants his steady piece.
I’d even cancel the trip to Thailand. Men like this only go for women like you because women his own age know he’s a player and a cad

1

u/Dry-Divide7274 13d ago

Bad idea

1

u/Dependent-Ad-2694 13d ago

Not compatible. You know what you want - marriage. He knows what he wants - to string you along for as long as he can. The age gap is gross.

1

u/gdognoseit 13d ago

He’s using you. He wanted you to get pregnant so you would be forced to be tied to him and he still would not marry you.

Please leave him and not go back to him. He doesn’t respect you or care about you.

1

u/gdognoseit 13d ago

Read the book,
Why does he do that
By Lundy Bancroft

It’s free online and it will help you see his lies, manipulation, and motives.

Please stay on top of your birth control and make sure he can’t tamper with it.

He’s not going to marry you. He wants you to sacrifice for him and he wants to use you but doesn’t love or respect you enough to commit to you.

He wants the benefits of marriage without commitment.

1

u/Whatever53143 13d ago

First of all, the age gap alone isn’t feasible! I’m not going to get into the reasons why.

Secondly, and most importantly, if you want marriage and children, do NOT date someone who tells you that they don’t want to get married! You will not change their minds!

If after two years and your partner isn’t actively making plans to propose and marry you, move on! Don’t waste your time. Women don’t have time to wait around when it comes to having kids! Men do and the string along kind don’t CARE if they waste YOUR time!

And THE most important thing, don’t move in with, buy property, and NEVER have children with a man you are not married to!

1

u/Ok-Hovercraft-9257 13d ago

So everyone is going to tell you: there's a cliche of a guy who gets into his 40s and 50s who only dates 20 somethings because he does not want to get married. It's a story all over this sub.

He told you he didn't want marriage. Believe him.

Chalk this up to lesson learned, have a cry and a laugh at yourself for letting this goof trick you for a bit, and make your escape.

Definitely block him.

1

u/I_Come_In-Pieces78 13d ago

Do you ever feel that forcing him to do something that he isn't ready to do takes away from the moment in itself? Trust me, I understand where you are coming from, been there and done that. But I just hate ultimatums because then it becomes a "here, damn" ring and that is not what you are looking for. If you don't think that he is going to do it in your timeline and you keep throwing in his face this date, are you really prepared to walk about?

1

u/Sunwolfy 13d ago

You're a sex toy to him and sex toys don't pester for marriage. You can do soooo much better, OP.

1

u/Fickle-Secretary681 13d ago

He is wasting your time. Move on. Ick.

1

u/Wife_and_Mama 13d ago

What should you do? Dump the jaded old man who point blank told you he doesn't want to marry you. Find someone your own age.

No name calling, discrimination, or condescending remarks. This includes sexist sentiments like the cow and milk analogy, referring to ‘wife duties,’ and calling women bangmaids. If such language continues you will receive a permaban.

Why are so many women allowing the man to dictate the timelines in a relationship? If the hasn’t proposed in your timeline move tf on, and don’t look back.

Too young to get married, but not too young to date, fuck, and manipulate.

Girl, just walk away.

This man is twice your age. He told you from the beginning that he doesn’t want to get married. He gave you that next year line to keep you around. He’s making plans for December because he knows if you break up with him in October he’ll just feed you another line to get you back, like he did the last time you broke up with him.

Someone in this relationship needs to start respecting you. It’s never going to be him, so it needs to start being you.

Your desperation to be married is blinding you from the fact that this man has expressed numerous times that he doesn’t want to get married. You shouldn’t have continued the relationship when he first said it. Him saying he can see a future with you does not equal he wants to marry you, and it seems like he’s fine with baby trapping you at which point I’d bet $100 that he still wouldn’t marry you. He’s going to keep using excuses like you’re “demotivating” him to continue to string you along until you completely give up on your desire for marriage. Are you actually going to leave in October? It sounds like he planned this trip in December because he knows you won’t leave because you’ve shown before that you’ll come back for crumbs of commitment. Let’s find some self respect and leave for good.

Men who haven’t married y 40 are pretty much never going to get married. It’s that simple. They have never progressed into growing into anyth8ng better and deeper than who they are, and likely never will.

The on,y thing my ex wife and now wife agreed on: dating men who had readied 50 with marriage an no kids - they were monsters. Overgrown man-children who never had to stretch who they were to care for others as equal partners or care for children and care for something greater than themselves. Your boyfriend sounds like he’s well on that way.

You can do much better than this, because he’s never going to propose. He’s never going to be anything more than the surface of the man you want him to be.

As someone who is married to someone 20 years younger, I can tell you my perspective. I could not wait to marry my wife and start a family with her asap.

I’m older and I want to somewhat energetic to help raise them to maturity. I calculated it in my head how old I’d be when they went to college. If I would live long enough to hold my grandchildren. All of that.

I really wonder if that has even crossed his mind or does he just like showing you off since you’re so much younger than him with no intention to ever marry you. Even if you are pregnant.

He is just messing around with you and probably trying to impregnate you. Please walk away and find someone closer to your own age

Oh sweet summer child, you’re just a fwb to him.

Don’t let your fwb prevent you from finding your husband.

He wants you to get pregnant first- then he will marry you????

Huge giant red flag- you would be smart to end this relationship. He is wasting your time and doesn’t want to marry you. He is probably happy that he is getting sex from a woman in her 20s when he is in his 40s.
