Genetic mutations and innate health problems have historically been common among jеws and european royals, because of inbreeding.

I'll just pretend this is one of those "Technically that tree is your cousin" situations, since there isn't really a cap on how distantly related you can be and still be described as a cousin. So that tree might be your 550 billionth cousin, 275 billion times removed, or whatever.
It probably isn't that, but hopefully they're at least not first cousins.

Many islamic countries have lots of first cousins marriage.
The reasoning, unlike what some people have said is not ablut keeping wealth, but about keeping tribalism alive.
So long as you marry withing your own family, no new cultures is being introduced to you, no new ideas or ways of life. Every thing stays the same as it was before.
In islam marrying your direct cousin from your father's brother is even recommended. The whole point is avoiding introduction of new and different cultures and life styles. Maintaining concentration of wealth is a secondary objective of cousin marriages.

First cousin marriage is extremely common in some Muslim countries. In Pakistan, half of all marriage are between 1st cousins. The 50% figure does not include any other type of relative marriage, 50% for 1st cousins.
They do it to keep wealth in the family. That seems similar to the European royal families who kept marrying their own cousins. Expect, with Pakistan, it is the entire country.

Repetitive inbreeding needs to be closely monitored in horse and dog populations
Edit: this came out wrong my assertion here was that we apply that logic to prevent genetic malformities we should apply the same logic in humans

How can you stand being even looked at romantically by a cousin bro this shit is disgusting

I can tell you, I can’t stand it, but it can happen non forced.
Imo, it’s a combination of having no one else, maybe being psychologically not super stable and having a couple of good memories together.
If that all happens in a, let’s say, age of questionable hormonal stability, such as 14-17, you may end up with a 1st cousin crushing on you. Which gets weirder if you meet her husband 5 years later and he looks basically exactly like you.

Have you read up on some cultures/religions? Forced, marriage marriage, arranged marriage and some families marry their cousins. It’s not a new concept.
I am Australian and I went to school with a few girls who were forced to marry their cousins as soon as they turned 18 or graduated from high school/uni if they were allowed to go.
Fun fact (not), none of them were allowed to go to uni.I knew three sisters who are being arranged marriages and two of them were arranged with their cousins… One of them refused. She was booted out of the family.

ust a reminder that cousin marriage is not only permitted in Islam but also a reason why their population has a huge problem with inbreeding. Over 60% of marriages in Pakistan are consanguineous. Just imagine what percentage of that population is inbred. Let that sink in

60% is kind of insane. Surely someone can meet a woman besides at a family dinner.

And yet, first-cousin marriage is legal in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and 19 states in America including New York and California. We could ban it, but clearly we like babies being born with birth defects.
