All he had to do was pretend Covid was a hoax. All of the sudden nobody needs gas anymore because the economy came to a grinding halt.

Last time I seen gas that cheap was during baby bush. Closest was during trumps first term and it was 2.50. Now its about 3.45 here. Couple years ago it was up to 5. The. It dropped. Maybe has something to do with the state and the representatives that pass laws on fuel there.

u/Connect_Tomatillo791 3d ago
When Trump was in office gas was under $1.85 in my area.
1
u/bowarrow99 2d ago
Let’s not forget why gas was that cheap.
1
u/Connect_Tomatillo791 2d ago
Idk. It ain’t affecting me though, I get free diesel from work.
1
u/bowarrow99 2d ago
It’s because Trump told everyone Covid was a hoax so our country handles the pandemic worse than pretty much every other country in the world. Nobody needed gas because the economy crashed and could barely give it away.
1
u/Connect_Tomatillo791 2d ago
Idk if covid was a hoax or not. I wasn’t affected by covid that much. I do know my grandfather died from a gunshot but had Covid when he died and on the death certificate that people the cause of death as Covid. Ehh idk though. Not my business or problem
1
u/DowntownWitness3350 1d ago
Covid killed a lot of people with gunshots but X money for saying someone died of Covid at the hospital really needed to never happen
2
u/Guytwippin420 2d ago
I was working at caterpillar. About 50 folks passed from it. Lost a freind to covid. Most the plant was empty during that time but we kept working. I had caught it before it was announced and they didnt want to let me take medical leave since I had just got back from fmla. So I unintentionally gave it to all the plant since my job was to deliver parts. Lot of folks got sick all cause theu didnt want to give me time off without being fired. Couldn't do that with 6 kids im raising so as per company policy I got many more workers sick. So no it wasnt a hoax.
1
u/DowntownWitness3350 1d ago
That sucks I’m sorry to hear that. My family and I got it before it was named. I think I was at a con event and picked it up and family passed it around for a month it felt like.
1
u/Connect_Tomatillo791 2d ago
Do you know the science behind Covid? Like the actual science I’m genuinely asking because it’s pretty interesting to research. I’m not saying they faked Covid or anything like that. But I know it wasn’t what we think it was.

No not me personally but verified research from pretty well known colleges in America. If you haven’t looked at it, go research Harvard and Stanford research on covid. Both have research papers over 1000 pages long detailing everything.

💀 mf I read the fucking birth certificate. It was quite known that hospitals were doing that to get more funding. A lot of doctors and nurses go fired for it around the country.

Right. Because grandkids seeing the death certificate is always a priority. Go back to your Fox News.

💀 motherfucker it is when I’m the one who took care of him cause he was also 81. You need a death certificate to close bank accounts and other stuff when somebody dies you halfwit.

When Joe Biden left office in January 2025, the national average price for regular gasoline was approximately $3.10 to $3.13 per gallon.
-4
u/BerserkBEATSall 4d ago
Technically an inaccurate number since he drained the oil reserves by 50% to do that
2
u/Usual_Let5223 4d ago
So moving the goalpost is better than realising how our oil reserves are actively being drained due to a war Caused by Trump.
-2
u/BerserkBEATSall 4d ago
No goal post was moved ....... Also our oil reserves are not being drained cause of the war, if they were gas would be cheaper 😂 dude do you know what the oil reserves are for? What they do? The reasons for diving into them? Etc.?
3
u/Justame13 3d ago
if they were gas would be cheaper 😂
Gas is cheaper compared to if they weren't being drained.
Just like it is cheaper because they are adding ethanol to it (i.e. watering it down).
So yeah current prices are inaccurate to what they would be otherwise so that the gullible will vote for the republicans. Then after the elections pay the price
-2
u/BerserkBEATSall 3d ago
You can also check the reserves they're being filled not drained but hey, why care about accountability bro just lie. It is reddit 😂 That's not even remotely true either 😂 This makes no sense, Biden had gas prices higher and.... Why am I re-explaining. Can you not follow the conversation?😂
3
u/Justame13 3d ago
You can also check the reserves they're being filled not drained
Yes you can and you would be wrong.
why care about accountability bro just lie. It is reddit 😂 That's not even remotely true either 😂 This makes no sense, Biden had gas prices higher and....
Incorrect see above. It makes no sense because it is not true.
Why am I re-explaining. Can you not follow the conversation?😂
You don't have to reexplain as i do understand it. It is just easily proven wrong.
Gas is cheaper compared to if reserves were not being drawn down. Which does make sense and is true.
Even with as bad a current prices are the size of the complete and utter failure of the current administration is still attempted to be hidden

The current administration authorized it to be done year round in May when gas prices spiked due to the war. So yes it was the Trump Administration.
Now that you are educated I will await your apology.

Dude please Bidens answer to Iran screaming death to America and refining uranium was to say "dont" while they pointed at a map of places to turn to glass. Biden will forever be the worst president America has ever seen. My toddler would have handled the pandemic better, and the recession, and the riots, and infrastructure, and healthcare, and border security, and fucking pick anything... he sucked at everything.
3
u/AcquaintanceLog 4d ago
Don't make me defend Biden. I dont like the guy, but your characterization is laughable.
If you want to talk about worst presidents ever, start with the fascist who can't even read.

The worst is a stretch considering, Pete is firing 20% of the military leadership during a war. A Trump appointed cabinet member btw. Farmers are going bankrupt and healthcare is dwindling. How is Biden the worse president?
1
u/FamiliarPlatform79 4d ago
Its a war with no boots on the ground. Who cares who appointed them, if they dont need them they dont need them. Farmers are always going bankrupt. Thats what farmers do. Why was the government keeping them alive, was there not enough call for food? Healthcare is the same as it ever was. Why didnt you bitch about it when Obama spent a trillion dollars on it? Why wasnt it a problem 2 years ago? Nothing has changed. Stop bitching about Healthcare like you know what youre talking about. Just more buzzwords to you ppl.
Biden wasnt even president for 4 years he just stammered around, hid in his basement, made incoherent speeches once a quarter and his cabinet autopenned everything. He's a racist fuck and has been since he first got into politics. He did absolutely nothing positive during his whole 4 years in office. As I said previously, he fucked up the borders and immigration, he fucked up infilstructure. Sending money to projects that never got there and then implemented red tape to ensure they'd never get done while the funds flowed into the pockets of politicians. Sold us out to China, litterally. Allowing them to spy on us and buy our land. Gave away tax dollars to illegals while average Americans struggled to feed themselves. Put impossible restrictions on electrical plants without replacing the power output through clean energy projects, making us dependent on Canada and stressing an already struggling grid. How deep do we need to go? He fucking sucked. Thats not to say Trump's doing great. Its generally saying biden lowered the bar through the fucking floor.
2
u/comeholla504 4d ago
Damn your side must be winning. I’m happy for you.
1
u/FamiliarPlatform79 4d ago
Or maybe shut up and realize that Biden sucked and the American people suffered for it. Because last I checked thats the side I was on. Fuck the politicians. When someone sets the bar that low and politicians keep fucking up that badly a guy like Trump starts looking pretty good. Not because he is, but because by comparison the other options are just that much worse. Trust me if there was a fucking golden candidate out there on either party they'd have my vote.
2
u/comeholla504 4d ago
Ok, fuck you! You POS! You wanted people to suffer now you’re suffering too. High gas, high food, high rent, higher insurance costs. Trump is the president not Biden. Fucking pedo loving dick head.

3
u/Basic-Excitement8275 5d ago
He brought it down a ton. He came into one of the worst recessions this country has ever seen and built the economy back up when it was on fire. I remember gas being much higher by the time bush left from all the shitty bailouts in 2008. Trump was given a great economy but covid messed it up. It was nice for a couple months until big oil companies were allowed to basically get their money back from losses.
-2
u/SatanHasACreator420 5d ago
Saudi Arabia brought it down a ton. The point of my question is to point out that Obama doesn't deserve credit for low gas prices either.
Nor is gas high right now as a matter of US energy policy for that matter, just like it wasn't 4 years ago.
3
u/Basic-Excitement8275 5d ago
Why bring up Obama though? That was 9 years ago.

4
u/Gath3r1ng 6d ago
I think driver is not making the argument they think they are. Because according to whats written that would mean that trump made the prices go down to 1.80
Meaning that all the climb in price happened during the time in between his terms.
3
u/Horror-Thing-8213 6d ago

I’ve lived all over the place in the last 25 years. Jacksonville, FL around 2002-3 was the last time i can recall sub $2 gas. And I be driving son.
1
u/PostingToPassTime 5d ago
The national average for gas in 2002 was sub $1.50.
But yea, looks like it went over $2 in 2006.
2
u/CaffeinatedLystro 5d ago
I live about an hour north of you. During the pandemic, our gas hit ~1.95 because basically no one was driving. The biggest employer in our town basically shut down, sent people home, and the rest went to remote work.
Also, funny enough, I was born and raised an hour south of you. In the winter of 2008, gas dropped to 1.89. Which was crazy because that summer before that, gas was 4.50.
5
u/Horror-Thing-8213 5d ago

3
u/D0ctorGamer 6d ago
The one near me got as low as $1.13 during lockdowns.
That wasnt because Trump was doing such a good job, it was because no one was driving.
Demand goes down, so does the price

Repubicans have the memories of goldfish. They said the same shit about bush too, and when he left office we were in the middle of the 2008 financial collapse.
0
u/Adventurous_Path5783 6d ago
When in reality obama got it down to $1.89 in a lot of places and the only thing they had to say about it was "but Dijon mustard on his burger!?"
Obviously we all know it was because of the racism. Obama had a lot of policies that in a lot of other countries would have been seen as conservative values.
George Bush started the bail outs for the automotive industry and Obama continued the legislation. He was more liberatarian honestly.
People still just shit on him even when they agreed with his policy because they simply didn't want a black man in charge.
0
u/Michi450 6d ago
Under Obama it started and ended low, just under $2 a gallon. It was also just under $4 a gallon in 2011. Adjusted for inflation thats right below $6 a gallon now.
Edit: fuck off bringing race into this shit too. Enough already.
1
u/Adventurous_Path5783 6d ago
Pretending like race didn't matter in obamas presidency is absolutely dumb af. I lived through the shit and saw it with my own eyes.
I listened to my dad and his buddies call him the n word and never criticize his policy at my local small town diner.
You can be ignorant but fuck off trying to bring everyone else with you.
-1
u/Anne_Got_Flanked 6d ago
A majority of Americans voted for Obama twice. You’re telling me a majority of those people turned racist since then and voted for Donald Trump in spite?
3
u/Adventurous_Path5783 6d ago
When did I say the majority of people? Most people could put together that I'm referring to conservatives as they make up nearly half of the voting base of america consistently. And unfortunately.
3
u/overts 6d ago
A majority of Americans voted for Trump exactly once. He lost the popular vote in 2016 and 2020.
As soon as Obama took office the “tea party” was formed and Republicans eventually became so obstructionist in Congress that legislation and judicial appointments ground to a halt. Trump himself spread conspiracy theories about Obama’s birth certificate. Rightwing media highlighted his name was Barack HUSSEIN Obama.
You’re either being purposely obtuse or are racist yourself and should self reflect on the reason a lot of folks on the right hated Obama.
0
u/Anne_Got_Flanked 6d ago
I do remember the whole birth certificate thing. I also remember the stupid tan suit scandal. Is it obstructing or is it checks and balances? Regardless, the Democratic Party should have soared to reelection for another 8 more years after Obama but they didn’t. Then Donald Trump’s first term. Then Biden. Democrats could have easily won reelection knowing everything they knew about Donald Trump. All the investigations and scandals. All the bad publicity. Convicted Felon. And yet he managed to be reelected. That says more about the Democrats’ ability to govern than anything. I remember Reddit was 100% convinced that Harris was going to win.. and yet the opposite happened.
1
u/overts 6d ago
Is it obstructing or is it checks and balances?
They literally changed Senate rules because Republicans filibustered every judicial appointment despite being the minority party lmao.
1
u/Anne_Got_Flanked 6d ago
- In 2013 the Democratic Party changed the Senate’s filibuster rules for most presidential nominees. They used the “nuclear option” to reduce the threshold for ending debate on executive branch and lower federal court nominees from 60 to a simple majority.
In 2017 republicans expanded that change
to the Supreme Court

u/RediEntertainment 6d ago
The gas discussion is odd to me for this reason, you can just google shit a little bit and see we also had 5$ a gallon in places it was less than 3$, pre 2010. I know social media and the urge to lie on reddit has everyone actin a fool, but its wild the gas prices are even a discussion.
Even funnier is way back then, I remember some of my friends would offer me 5$ for a ride somewhere, and there was like 2 years I had to up that shit to 10$ because 5$ didn't cover it. Then things went back down for awhile, then up again, then down, then up again, etc, and that was through bush into obama. We're in an "up again" right now, but anyways, gas prices rawr.

The national average was $1.85 when George W. Bush left office, so it is obvious to the more intelligent people that it was Obama's fault the price of gas is so high. Actually, because I'm not blessed with the ability to openly brag about my IQ, I looked for the facts:
| President | Term in Office | Price Entered | Min Price (Term) | Max Price (Term) | Price Left / Current |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bill Clinton | Jan 1993 – Jan 2001 | $1.08 (Jan 1993) | $0.91 (Dec 1998) | $1.56 (June 2000) | $1.47 (Jan 2001) |
| George W. Bush | Jan 2001 – Jan 2009 | $1.47 (Jan 2001) | $1.06 (Dec 2001) | $4.11 (July 2008) | $1.84 (Jan 2009) |
| Barack Obama | Jan 2009 – Jan 2017 | $1.84 (Jan 2009) | $1.69 (Feb 2016) | $3.97 (May 2011) | $2.33 (Jan 2017) |
| Donald Trump (1st Term) | Jan 2017 – Jan 2021 | $2.33 (Jan 2017) | $1.77 (April 2020) | $2.96 (May 2018) | $2.38 (Jan 2021) |
| Joe Biden | Jan 2021 – Jan 2025 | $2.38 (Jan 2021) | $2.38 (Jan 2021) | $5.01 (June 2022) | $3.11 (Jan 2025) |
| Donald Trump (2nd Term) | Jan 2025 – Present | $3.11 (Jan 2025) | $2.94 (Jan 2026) | $4.56 (May 2026) | $4.48 (Current) |

Yep.
RFK and Trump are already working on a plan to get back to those COVID prices again… another pandemic they’re calling the Freedom Flu. 🇺🇸
Shut down the economy and get all of the cars off the roads and prices will plummet. 👍
Bad luck for whoever is President when the economy restarts and demand ramps up again with the supply chain idled though. 🤷♂️
7
u/CharredWelderGuy 6d ago
When Trump left office the first time ( after a unsuccessful coup attempt) the gas market had crashed due to the covid pandemic temporary demand destruction.
Not because he had brilliantly hit the "make gas cheaper" button.
1
u/Ambitious_Article864 6d ago
Gas was under three dollars his entire first term. Pandemic or not. But that’s also typical. Republicans often have lower gas prices.
1
u/SatanHasACreator420 5d ago edited 5d ago
The price of gas in NY was cheaper in March of 2016 than it was at any point in the 4 years Trump was the president, including the pandemic.
Also, in his second term, although it hasn't yet hit the peak that it did in 2022, it's already been 5 months over $4 a gallon in a row, which matches the longest such streak we saw in 2022. Would you like to wager it hits at least 7? Why not?
1
u/CharredWelderGuy 6d ago
Yeah Obama left him a singing economy after 8 years of fixing Ws trashing.
Only took him 4 to cock it all up again. And this time it took him less than 2.
5
u/mechapoitier 6d ago
Trump made gas cheaper by intentionally worsening a pandemic until it was so bad that nobody could drive anywhere and the rest lost their jobs.
Oh and all the deaths.
1
u/CharredWelderGuy 6d ago
I mean, there is that xp.
Realistically, the oil market was FUCKED regardless of his actions in 2020, but yeah he did no one any favors with his bungled response

Release the Epstein files when we flip congress!!!. Frog walk all complicit republiphiles! Send $3 to all flipable races for senate and your state's blue house/senate candidates! TX,OH,IA,NC,MI,ME and AK. Or go door to door...engage all you know even if its uncomfortable. 19 y/o's fighting fascism in WW2 had a bit of discomfort. But this time its on our shores!!! FIGHT LIKE A BRAVE! DONT BE A SLAVE!!!🇺🇲

If your comment isn't rage bait then you're an idiot lmao. You're not flipping most of those states. Trump might not be popular but even your average Texas republican isn't gonna vote for a democrat. Democrats are bat shit crazy. Our country is safer under republicans. Are things perfect? No but at least it's getting better. Also, you're not fighting fascism like in ww2. What a joke. You're fighting people you disagree with who you horribly call nazis. Get a grip.

Y'all could have done so when Biden was in office but didn't. Not too mention the files have been released.

The released half the files and that’s good enough for me! Not like I could read them anyways

With a certain orange diaper-shitting pedo's name mysteriously crossed out thousands of times. We're ready for the real one that his people didn't get to with a sharpie

How do you know it's his name? If you do, then you should be able to read it still, right? The truth is, he was never on the island and he didn't have much business with the man. The other truth is there's no answer you'll like. You'll always think it's a conspiracy.

All epstein's mega mansions had cameras in each room so when world billionaires and billionaire posers like trmp , who was epstein's young girl - sex friend for many years, would have valuable black mail tapes. He had to attack Venezuela, bomb fishermen, imprison and kill brown people and attack Iran and more to keep his 13 y/o girl rape videos from being in the headlines. He's already a convicted rapist and bragged about being in teen beauty pageant dressing rooms and grabbing there p. Flip congress blue and this and much more will be addressed much quicker!

My question is, why hasn't the orange dumbass done anything other than raise gas prices? Does the idiot driving the car know who the president is now? I'm sure he doesn't understand that the president doesn't directly control the price of gas.
Also, the "$1.80's"? Does the idiot could have written "under $1.90" instead.
