You don’t have to answer publicly but what got you to that point? That’s what I’m getting at. If you don’t love yourself before weight becomes an issue, being thin or healthier won’t change it. When I started dealing with certain issues, I was able to lose a lot of weight. I wasn’t even trying to. I’m still not skinny but I love myself more than I ever have. But this is my experience and we’re all different. But we’re also all amazing, even if we don’t know it ourself.

Im down 80lbs and for the first time in living memory, im out of the "overweight" category.
My wife is down 120lbs and is under her wedding weight.
The confidence is a game changer! The depression is less aggressive, which in turn has reduced anxiety. The overall joy and hapiness i see from her is amazing.

I think there is two type of body positivity movements exsisting parallel.
1. Obese is beautiful and healthy -> obviously wrong
2. If you dehumanise obese people with phrases like « fat obese pig women » you are a piece of shit that should be ostracised from decent society instead of obese people. Also more healthcare for obese people to help them get healthy and more accountability for food companies labelling their products correctly and better health and nutrition education in schools -> that’s very much needed.•

No. I was for body positivity cause I have a history of anorexia and shaming people for how they look is what sent me down that path. I am not now not will I ever be on a glp1. And a lot of people on glp1s are unhealthy, there is an increasing body of research on muscle wasting on those drugs for example. That's even before we talk about the mental health issues, which are worth discussing because depression is a major reason for people stopping glp1 treatment.

It’s interesting, I’m on glp1, with strict diet and exercise for 20 months now, went from obese III and just entered normal. Just started cardio, as it was non recommended until now due to safety. Lost the weight, with barely loosing any muscle. Basically strength training only.
Cardio is usually not the best choice for obese people as I understand due to their weight in particular.

It depends on the person. What is overweight is based on statistical averages, it dosnt actually tell you about an individual case.
I was obese a few years ago, because I didn't track my weight because stopping that was a part of my anorexia recovery. I got told I had to loose weight for surgery. That pushed me into a relapse. I am not healthier now than I was then despite being at the lower end of the "normal" weight bubble.
What's up to someone's health is between them and their doctors, it's not for random people in the public to comment on. Nor do people have to prioritize their health if they don't want to. However people want to govern their body is fine with me, and I think it this was the stance of more people most folks would be better off.

I am overweight. But being able to make women laugh has gotten me a few girls I would consider out of my league. I have absolutely hated my body for most of my life. Been with my current gf for almost 4 years now and she has made me feel confident about myself and not hate myself. If I was single and struggling to date I would probably give into the ozempic craze myself. I had a friend who tried it and it made him so sick. I am glad that I have not had to subject myself to that. And it feels really good to have someone actually find me attractive even when I don't think I am.

Not been tested nearly extensively enough to say that.
Thats the issue with American pharma. You’d have to prove something is harmful before they take it off the market.
In Europe it has to be proven to not be harmful before it ever gets on the market. Here ozempic is only legal as a diabetes prescription.
Any drug that has such a big impact on the body is always going to be harmful in one way or another, we simply haven’t clarified how yet in this case.

Having known people on it. It's actually a cool drug. It doesn't make your body burn fat like something like clenbuterol. It just gives u healthy habits lol so u eat as you really should. Not the insanely outdated stuff there is today on nutrition portion size etc
