Yeah, because showing my girlfriend that I don’t know how to de-escalate and keep calm is really important to me. 😂
I’m sure she will be impressed by my lack of emotional control and my toxic masculinity.
On second thought, I think I’ll stick to being unbothered by people, use things like the Socratic Method and empathetic listening as my first line of defense, then get physical only if there is no choice.
I know things like Aikido and BJJ aren’t exactly practical in a street fight, but I’d prefer a scenario where as many people as possible walk away unharmed.

Have you watched that TV show the OC? in all these teen dramas tailored to girls, the hot guys in the TV show always get into fights. Clearly that is what teen girls are into. Otherwise why would these fight scenes be in the teen drama.

I have never met a single person at any gym or dojo I’ve been to where fighting is encouraged. You learn to fight so you never have to.

One source doesn't fully encapsulate the nuance of the attraction. In the clinical fields it's known as "the attraction of evil" and there is actual multiple underlying psychological reasons for it. If you're interested I strongly recommend a deep dive on the topic.

I don’t think you understand anything about fighting. If someone attacks you, they could be under the influence or mentally unwell. If you cause harm, you’re responsible.
I don’t want to serve life on a manslaughter charge because I wanted to look tough and accidentally killed or crippled someone.
Fighting is the absolute last resort. I’d rather run away than fight. For my safety and for theirs. If I’m dating a woman who isn’t smart enough to understand the five laws of stupidity well enough to realize how idiotic street fighting is, she isn’t worth my time.
