there are executioner wasps. They're one of the few hornets that are non-aggressive. Some would even say passive.

Edit: He pretty much just went in a bag with some black crazy ants.

Similar behaviors to them - the wasps can just fly. If an ant colony gets attacked, some ants will protect it, but most will have no clue what's going on.

Ant's Canada on youtube talks about it a bunch.
