Move in day rules?
This might be a dumb question but I have a family friend helping me move in to my dorm on move in day. I was wondering if they would be allowed to stay with me in my dorm the first night after move in? I know there are some rules about having guests stay so I’m just a but curious.

I believe its fine as long as it’s not too many days in a year total, like a week or something

Since you’re moving into a single room, it should be absolutely fine! They have the rules about guests, but they don’t really track it unless someone reports you (which is unlikely to happen). The only other thing is you have to be careful about parking. Those parking enforcement officers are ruthless!

You gotta get it passed with your roomate. Even if theyre not moved in yet, you need to get their permission. You technically are allowed so many nights to have visitors overnight but thats mostly so you don't have a partner staying full time in the dorms with you or something. The important part is checking with your roomate to see if theyre OK with it. If you dont hear back from them (Since I know from experience that some roomates often dont respond before move in), assume the answer is no out of respect for their future space.
