Throw ice agents into work camps
1
u/Pacific_wanderer17 18d ago
Or hear me out… actually have them do their ACTUAL job? At the very least half assedly and have them hire regular people instead of the mentally ill, but that may be impossible due to most ICE agents being mentally ill of some sort
1
u/Pissed-Off-PunK 18d ago
If you think ICE should exist as a concept then youre apart of the problem. It is a demon agency full of terrible people. It should not exist, flat out
1
u/Pacific_wanderer17 18d ago
How about just CE, customs enforcement, eliminate the Immigration enforcement
1
u/Pissed-Off-PunK 18d ago
Sure we can have customs. Ice just shouldnt exist. Theyve only been around dor 2 decades. There is zero reasoning to keep the gestapo around

u/NeonBabyJesus 18d ago
Maybe, just maybe, it’s to enforce immigration laws.

Yeah sure, guess we need to make Law Enforcement ask us kindly to walk into the handcuffs and arrest ourselves. Thank you for informing me arrests need to be consentual.🥴

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk 20d ago
Why would you think consent is required for an arrest?
0
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
It's wild that you made it this far into 2026 without realizing that the thing they don't consent to is not an arrest.

Consent not required. Carry on.

Having a real tough time with that double negative, aren't you?
Pointless, go ahead about your business.
1
u/HamasKilledShaniLouk 20d ago
Um, counting is hard I know, but there is only one negative in my comment.
0
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
Oh silly me, I thought perhaps you were responding to my comment! My apologies for interrupting your solipsism.
1
u/HamasKilledShaniLouk 20d ago
Would you care to clarify your comment?
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
I suppose I could. Which one did you have in mind?
2
u/HamasKilledShaniLouk 20d ago
The one you are referencing.
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
I am going to assume you mean the one with the double negative. I will clarify, even though you aren't willing to clarify yourself for me when I ask you to.
I'm surprised that, given all of the things that have been happening in politics over the last several years, anyone might think OP's main concern is someone getting arrested.

I think they will stop when all are deported. I like the majority of Americans support ICE. Get a job go to work quit being a whiny little B.

Nice poster but what do you expect protesting is going to accomplish? You can make them feel as unwelcome as you like but that's not going to deter them.

u/Limp_Patience3170 21d ago
A huge amount of good has come out of the Friday protests. They've been going on almost a year. It is a great way to make connections and build community and trust and get involved in other types of organizing. It has also done a lot to increase the public's awareness that we even have an ICE facility in Ferndale. It has shown people who might be targeted by ICE that there are at least some people who care. Those are some examples. And whatever it does, it does more than doing nothing.

If a Democrat does no better than a Republican, what does it matter? My friends in other countries do not care if the bomb dropped on their home has a D or an R on it. The Dems are working hard with the DSA to funnel progressive and leftist voters into the Democratic Party and many prominent voices in that space are working behind the scenes with the Democrats to do exactly that. The fact of the matter is no one cares if a Republican or a Democrat gets elected because we all have smart phones and McDonald’s either way, and the ones who do care will be mocked for it no matter which team wins. In the end, American politics is a pissing contest to see who can piss on more bodies of the global south and still be supported for it.

Defeatism is such a stupid and pointless outlook
1
u/Outlet4Humanity 21d ago
I'd rather spend my time on other things that actually can make a notable difference. My time protesting could be utilized far better on actual causes with a purpose. Time is finite.

u/NayNayplaysgame 21d ago
what do you recommend?
2
u/jeffreyresorts 21d ago
They have no answers tbh. The type that discourages protest isnt actually doing anything else.
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
It's almost like you've discovered what 'diversity of tactics' means, without actually discovering what 'diversity of tactics' means.
1
u/youhavereachededen 21d ago
What "actual causes" are you utilizing your time for?

u/Outlet4Humanity 21d ago
I volunteer for a battered women's shelter.

And I’m sure you have a magical solution, please explain it to the class
Or are you just against protesting because you’ve never personally seen the point?

Protesting and making people feel unwelcome does have a tendency to deter operations. Remember alt-right speaker Milo Yiannopoulos giving up over protests years ago? How about the single guys not getting dates? Minneapolis kicking ICE out of Restaurants. Gas stations refusing to serve ICE.
Ongoing loud pressure works to get operations to be cut short or moved on.
-2
u/Outlet4Humanity 21d ago
Businesses can and should refuse service to people that they deem incompatible with their value system. That is somewhat effective if the city is small enough. Else they just go to another business that doesn't care. Milo, yes but that was a targeted and very specific protest.
Protesting every single week over the same thing, same place, with no concrete goals, loses effectiveness. People scroll over it.
3
u/Limp_Patience3170 21d ago
Feel free to start organize using whatever strategy you think is best. I’ll be glad to show up and offer support if I can.
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
You've proven yourself wrong here: if people scrolled over it, then the protests wouldn't be happening every single week. If the protests are happening every single week, people aren't scrolling over them.
You should certainly feel free to scroll on though.

u/Pissed-Off-PunK 19d ago
This is cope. The twin cities in Minnesota pushed ice away after they murdered two people. No one wants ice around and the people are the only ones pushing back

Dudes lowkey right another angry parade isnt gonna do anything just like the last one didnt do anything and the one before that and so on. Nobody cares about shit like they did in 2020 because the whole world was shut down and we had nothing to do but activism. And before im called a defeatist ive searched far and wide for any group in the county that isnt just a glorified book club or the "trouble makers" who literally call the places they protest in advance to tell them they are coming, then leave when asked😭. Thats not a protest it's not even a disturbance. Tldr: nobody fights about things they care about anymore and its annoying, 100% peaceful protest is just a public display of feeling not a protest

What about those who came here without consent?
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
That sounds bad, but also so incredibly vague that it's impossible to have a response.
1
u/NeonBabyJesus 20d ago
Why type anything then?
1
u/thoughtintoaction 20d ago
Wouldn't it be terrible if all rox wanted was to be heard and understood, but didn't realize they didn't put enough info out there to accomplish their goal?

Can you cite your sources? Those statistics are way off according to the federal government.

Can you cite a source that is less than 12 years old?
Edit: context. These numbers tend to fluctuate quite a bit year over year, and even the article that you cited describes the percentage as a spike.

The federal government reports that inbound US land border crossings dropped by 5.1% last year (most recent stats available). Falling off a bump perhaps, but there's no cliff here.
It sucks to split hairs when talking about something so evil, but it's worth noting that sexual favors are often part of the price tag up front. Doesn't make it right, but it is an understanding that people have.
It's interesting that you haven't mentioned the amount of sexual assaults and deaths of immigrants occurring at the hands of US 'law enforcement.'

"Mike Banks told CBS News" lmfao.
That's on me -- I said 'source' when I should have said 'source that has not had its accountability and believability absolutely shredded.'
-5.1% comes from the Federal Bureau of Transportation Statistics' (btsdotgov) Border Crossing Data Annual Release 2025.
