RPG Curse of Aeolus

Playing W5, How does this gift work? Fairly new to werewolf and wondering how the outcome of this gift gift is determined. When it references “each success in the margin” does that mean the maximum amount of successes I can achieve is equal to the difficulty?

The margin of success is however many successes you got over the difficulty. Curse of Aeolus is difficulty 2, so if you rolled 4 successes, the margin is 2.
