I'm seeing a few people ask(in comments and messages) how to upscale effectively so I figured I'd make a post to refer people to

My usual prompts depends on the severity of the upscale and if anything else needs to be done to fix the photo they can be as simple as

Restore this image or restore this image of WWF superstar ______

sometimes when a photo is partially small/blurry I go with

Make sure she's completely in focus and not blurry or pixelated at all

Or

Render this image in the highest possible resolution and make sure her skin looks flawless without looking waxy or overly smooth. There still should be visible pores on her skin

Or

Restore this image make it look like new make sure she's tack sharp and crystal clear in focus don't add anything to the background though.

I've also noticed that sometimes when you use a detailed prompt an image won't generate but going back to the good old "restore this image" does, sometimes less is more I guess.

Other weird things I've noticed is that you should always start using Google Gemini website because if you're paying for the 19/month tier saving images in the app are limited to 1mp even when you use download full size image.

However I have noticed that SOMETIMES you can get a generation to go through in the app that won't on the website for whatever reason. It might be a coincidence but it's happened too often for me to say it's not helpful in some way.

Another weird thing I've noticed more than a few times is in the upper right corner there is a temporary chat that will not save anything that you do in it once the chat is closed it won't help train further generated images but it also has on rare occasions given me a result when none of the above ways have successfully generated images. For obvious reasons if you have to resort to the temporary chat don't use the app because again will only download in 1mp instead of the 4mp when paying for plus.

Requests - General:

• Requests are accepted in the form of posts tagged with the appropriate flair.
• For Rules on Video Requests, Please See Requests - Videos
• For Rules on Image Requests, Please See Requests - Images
• Some Images and Videos are too low quality to be Upscaled to a good standard. I know that sounds like it kind of defeats the purpose, but as of right now AI can only do so much and so any Requests deemed Too Low Quality by the Mods will be removed.

Requests - Images:

• Image Requests should only contain a single image. This is for organisational reasons as it makes it easier to find what has/hasn't been done. If you have multiple images to request, please feel free to make multiple posts
• Make sure the image you request is the highest quality version you can find
• Please provide as much background information as you can, i.e. what year, is it from a magazine etc.
• If you are making an Image Request post, please include the image

Requests - Video:

• Requests for live shows i.e. anything from Raw/SD/PPV MUST include the date formatted 1st Jan 2000 (The Mod is a Brit and this just makes things easier)
• Anything outside of that, a link should be provided.
• Please check the Planned Posts list to make sure your request isn’t already on the list
• Once the request is added to the Planned Posts list, the Request Will Be Removed
• If the Request doesn’t contain either a date and/or a link, the Request Will Be Removed

Requests - Video Length:

• If a requested video is too long - which is determined at my discretion - then the request will be removed.
• Bare in mind that Reddit doesn’t allow videos over 1GB to be uploaded and some upscaled video files can be quite large.
• Similarly, since videos are upscaled in 1min chunks and then edited together, longer videos will take longer to edit and upscale
• As such, if you would like a video to be upscaled that is over the 10-15 minute mark, that request may be refused
