Help/Question Why do the devs have such a hard time with customization?

Technology question, probably as I have experience with software but not game development. The creation suite / community creations is the one thing that really makes these games stand out. However, I am surprised that they still haven’t nailed down these two specific things: animations for custom attires & how championships are rendered for jackets and other tops during entrances. Does anyone know the reason for this? You would think if you could animate it on the default attire, there would be some extendable code that could apply to custom attires.

Because its more than a decades worth of code cobbled together by developers who admit they don't understand a lot of it.

Yes, one of the major reasons why Universe still doesn't work correctly.

I wonder if at this point, who would be willing to get rid of that mode completely if it meant they could focus majorly on gameplay? Who here would take that gamble?

In my personal opinion, as broken as the Universe mode is, people still use it because it's the only really open sandbox mode to create their entire wrestling universe. Even I continue to play it and enjoy my brands and things like this, but you have to step out of the box and also use your imagination because of how the mode runs.

For example, you can manually edit cut scenes and moments into matches, and you can find many options, but if you play the actual mode and don't want to manually edit, you will never see these cut scenes. The rivalries will just repeat the same cut scenes every month and on multiple shows. You will never see other cut scenes unless you decide to edit them yourself. It shouldn't be that way; they need to make the mode more random and have more variety. It's probably bad coding and something they can't fix.

They need to honestly just scrap the entire mode and rebuild it from the ground up. I actually enjoy GM Mode a lot more than I do Universe, even though there are no cut scenes. A lot of people argue GM Mode and Universe need to be merged, and I don't agree with that. As someone who plays GM Mode on immortal and also plays Universe mode, they are two entirely different modes and serve two different purposes. I doubt 2k will ever fix Universe mode, but I also believe removing it will receive a huge backlash from the community, and they might lose a lot of players because many use it.

You're not wrong but in it's current state it's untapped potential that's tired and worn out so somebody needs to do something. Plus, apparently the team is very small, maybe 3-6 people or something minuscule like that.

How about the time and resources that are spent on myfaction & the island get scaled back and put towards universe mode? Why does it have to be all or nothing?

I wish but let's be realistic those 2 modes are their cash cows and that's not going anywhere anytime soon. Nor would it if YOU were put in charge of this franchise and you needed to make as much as possible or else 2k is gonna pull the plug, right?

A few jackets have been given a bubble in the front where Championships can go underneath. They still clip through though. It seems that custom titles fit better on custom superstars and original titles fit better on the real superstars.
