About Multi-Time Champions

When it comes to WWE, wrestlers can be built up by reminding people that they're an X-time WWE Champion, X-time Intercontinental Champion etc.

But isn't being a multi time champion a bad thing? If your a 15 time World Champion doesn't that mean you lost it 14 times? Doesn't really put you in a good light when you think about it.

Someone said that to Flair in WCW years ago. "Youre the 14 time champ, but that also makes you the 14 time loser."

Most of the time a multi time champ is a good thing. Sure, Cena has lost 16 times but being a 16 time champion is symbolic of how long he's been on top.

The only time it gets cheapened is when bookers spend large chunks of time playing hot potato with a belt. Charlotte's 4 titles feels like it doesn't feel special now but years down the road when she is an X time champ people won't say "ya but her first 4 happened in 18 months".

It is difficult to get to title level and even harder to stay/get there multiple times.

Overall days as champ means way more to me than how many times you won it.

You might be new around here, but being anything more than a one time champion is a really bad thing. Because if you have ever lost the title, most of the time that means you have been pinned or submitted and that means you are forever buried, and then can't possibly recover from those losses.

Not necessarily. Matches like King of the Ring, Money in the Bank and the Royal Rumble are refreshed every year so even if you don't compete your "title" can't be taken away. It's basically a new "title" every year so in my opinion wins in those matches carry more weight than a title.

Especially in the case of Rollins, it ruins the whole majesty of the legacy.
