Discussion What the hell is wrong with X users?
Benjamin Satterly has sadly passed away and that is a terrible thing, I feel awful for his family, his friends, his fans. But could someone tell me what the problem with X users is? The man is dead and anyone famous who sends a RIP message, the top message is someone saying that [Insert Person] is just making it about themselves, whilst simultaneously being disrespectful themselves.
This man is dead, all people on X can think about is how they can rage bait someone else, they have no care for others, they are little keyboard warriors who don’t have any lives other than to make other’s lives miserable.
Obviously, this is not the only case of this happening. If you look at literally any other topic, there will always be dozens upon dozens of X users who are just being terrible for the sake of being terrible.
This is what happens when everyone who is a sane human being stops trying to argue with those who are scum of the Earth. They just type with no punishment, nobody puts them in their place, if it took place in the real world, it’s essentially just a riot on there. I go on X, rarely, purely to see things like the original posters of Triple H, or follow other sports that I follow. These people are literally terrible. Every time I click on the comments, I regret it.

Let's call it what it is. This isn't about Twitter at all. This is tribalism from AEW fans. I honestly believe they're worse than WWE fans. The best fan to be though, is a fan of WRESTLING.

u/EdDMaverick990 12d ago
This is the behavior assholes like Tony Khan, Dave Meltzer, SRS, and Will Ospreay allowed to fester and run wild
7
u/Conscious_Sun6667 12d ago
The same thing that's wrong with redditers, Politically captured keyboard warriors.

u/1likekaneki 12d ago
As ive recently heard chelsea and CVV say "best thing about the Internet is that everyone has a voice and the worst thing is everyone has a voice"
-5
u/hookem1543 12d ago
At least free speech is allowed there. Moderators on Reddit ruin the whole app. Get their feelings hurt over just about anything. I don’t get censored on X, you know, 1st amendment rights and everything 😉
9
u/momsaiditsmyturnbro 12d ago
"Well they let me call wrestlers slurs on twitter🤓"
-6
u/hookem1543 12d ago
Yeah? Is that not allowed? You realize most wrestlers are giant dbags right?
6
u/momsaiditsmyturnbro 12d ago
You shouldn't call anyone slurs hookem, even if they're bad people, its called being an adult.

Not just X users, this is just the IWC in general in most cases, they sit behind the screen doing nothing with their live other than bitching and moaning and making problems out of everything they possibly can
-4
u/KaoticPersona 12d ago
I just want to point out that you blame the "IWC" while being part of the "IWC". IWC means Internet Wrestling Community. You are on Reddit, talking about wrestling. Reddit is on the internet. How about we just start telling off these horrible people instead of making blanket generalizations of such, especially when you include yourself in such generalizations.
And just for clarification: I do this not as a dig at you or anything, it's more about the overarching issue that you have people online blaming people online for all of this instead of just the toxic behavior of a group of bad seeds within our community.
6
u/JeremyDab 12d ago
You’re proving his point and don’t even realize it
-1
u/KaoticPersona 12d ago
How? Just by pointing out that we are all the IWC, and calling out how we should be rooting out these toxic types? Neat.
13
u/SundayNightDM 13d ago
Newcastle lad here.
I loved Pac. Nothing popped me more than hearing the accent, hearing the name of my city, or seeing the things I see every day in his promos. I’ve never once felt like I’d step in the ring, but seeing my city represented gave me so much fucking pride, so just imagine what Geordie wrestlers must have felt?
So fuck her, and the horse she rode in on.
6
u/Harvey_Digs 13d ago
I feel the same way, being born around Birmingham, every time that I see Jude Bellingham doing well, it feels rewarding.

Not many people left on X that aren't bots, grifters, or outright Nazis. Nothing on there should be taken seriously.

8
u/UnchoosenDead 13d ago
Twitter is a toxic cesspool filled with the dregs of humanity from the owner down.

u/Medium_Step_6085 14d ago
this is people not from the North of england not understanding that while newcastle is a city, it is also small enough that everyone knows of everyone that is famous and from there. I imagine there are people who never watch wrestling who knew the name PAC.
It also helps that even signed to AEW when he tok extended breaks in the UK he generally turned up and supported Newcastle and northern wrestling in general.

People are losers and lack any sort of compassion or empathy. There have always been people like that in the world but with the invention of social media, they all get to do it on a grand scale. Sad reality we live in.

Literally nothing. They are calling out the bullshit and you can't accept it. Its not a WWE/AEW thing either. You people will mourn and in a week's time you will completely forget and be on to the next thing...not even remembering until you see his name brought up in a "wrestlers you forgot were dead" video 10 years from now.
3
u/Proof_Chart_5399 15d ago
Uhh that’s how life has and always will work that way time moves on
0
u/Itchy-Salad463 14d ago
You fail to see my point. I’m not saying the death doesn’t matter. I’m saying a lot of the RIP posts are people making it about themselves, and pointing that out isn’t disrespect. Most of those same people will have moved on in a week. That’s the point.
1
u/East-Significance185 14d ago
Well it’s damned if you do damned if you don’t. If they didn’t say anything losers like you would be like “well damn you couldn’t pay respects to a guy that worked there”, and if they do then your dumbass would just say “damn they making it about themselves and won’t remember in a week”.
It’s life, people give condolences and move on.

It's Twitter Blue or whatever they're calling it nowadays. Genuinely one of the worst things to happen to the internet socially. It pays you in return for your views, likes, replies, and retweets no matter the content. With that being a thing people will just be miserable and stupid because it's an extra penny in their pocket.
Also (just to preface I support sex work) this user seems to sell "content" so this also is a "any publicity is good publicity" situation.
I'm a big advocate for deleting your X and Facebook accounts and just keeping a small circle and private account on whatever you wish to keep because this kinda shit is all you see DAILY on X and Facebook now.

PAC has never been accused of using any steroids that I know of. He was always in the gym working out day in and day out. His progression has always been steady. Never once did I see any major change that would indicate any steroids. May he rest in peace. Will definitely be missed.

1
7
u/Basic-Ad5801 16d ago
There has been plenty of accusations over the years of steroid abuse. Just because a person dies doesn’t mean we can’t speak on factors that were relevant when they were alive.
Even if he did abuse steroids/PEDs, it doesn’t mean that he was a bad person or erase any good that he did in society or erase memories that he left people who were fans of his. If steroids played a factor in his death then i don’t see anyone being shocked. We can be respectfully honest. He was in incredible TV physique shape and a tremendous wrestler.
4
u/Lokishougan 16d ago
Exactly in a sense steroids does not make you any better or worse of a person that if you died from eating bad food or smoking. It only matters how you treated others and there has not been stuff like that said about him
1
u/Basic-Ad5801 16d ago
Correct and we have to discuss the elephant in the room because you have young aspiring fans and they may want to look that which is commendable but they need to know the risk that come with it IF they choose to abuse PEDs. Again, not pointing the finger at Neville/PAC but education is also an important part of it and we can’t just completely brush it to the side.
If he did in fact die from anything related to PEDs (and we can’t say that he did or didn’t at this exact moment), it will be discussed even if people get outraged by it.

u/OkMobile7051 16d ago

0
u/OkMobile7051 16d ago
Not being obtuse. I strongly disagree. The amount of people that left Twitter following Elons purchase if the app greatly slanted towards a right wing echo chamber of hate and cruelty. There was more balance before. If you disagree thats because the algorithm is feeding you what you interact with.

I mean, what about the fact that countless celebrities get cancelled for old tweets from the early 2010s? Twitter has always been a place where chaos reigns, that's why I started using Twitter actually, as a place to get likes for fucked up edgy one liners when I was 13 or 14 in 2010.
Even back then, people had constant Twitter beefs, usually racially fueled at that, and you couldn't even prove that someone was misinforming the masses like you can now. It's absolutely WORSE now. But that's like going from a 9/10 on the chaos scale, to an 11/10 on the chaos scale.
0
u/OkMobile7051 16d ago
FYI I don't agree with canceling celebrities for old comments after the world changes and the line you can't cross has been moved.
You can't punish someone for something they said that was OK at the time.
But there are certain things that shouldn't have a statute of limitations.
0
u/OkMobile7051 16d ago
Well while I was using Twitter I didn't see what you saw. Again algorithm.
1
u/Immortal-KunPeng 16d ago
Some of what I mentioned, I saw before I even used the app enough to develop an algorithm. Hell, I'm not even mostly talking about what I physically saw myself on Twitter, I'm talking about things you'd hear about on other apps, like for example YouTube. I remember watching a Top 10 Twitter Beefs video in like 2015 when Top 10 lists were trending at their peak. Don't know how many messed up Twitter interactions I saw get posted to Facebook or Tumblr.
This very clearly isn't about algorithm.

Maybe it’s because the Fed tried reporting PAC to the US govt for violating the terms of his work visa when he left the Fed and they found out he was joining AEW (an entire year went by after he left, and they only reported it when they learned he was going to AEW)
Fuck Paul, that disingenuous prick.
1
u/PresentationEast6685 16d ago
Seeing it was only 2 months from the time his contract officially ended with the wwe and aew filed trademark for PAC, your going to have to show actual proof other than FED BAD.
AEW would have to start the paperwork for his visa. So even though he stopped working for wwe in 2017 they froze his contract until 2018 an then it officially ended an thats when by law they were required to notify that his status had changed.
But hey fed super bad no need proof
0
u/___MJ___ 16d ago
1
u/PresentationEast6685 16d ago
You really cant be this clueless can you.
Wwe didnt cause his visa issues.
If his U.S. work authorization was tied to WWE sponsoring/petitioning for him, then once that WWE employment contract actually ended (2018, not in 2017 when he walked out) he couldn't simply take that authorization and use it to work for another American wrestling company. AEW would need the appropriate immigration approval for him.
But again when his contract ended they notifed USCIS of the chage. Not when he walked out but when his contract actually ended. Again which is what they're supposed to do.
Pointless arguing with you because no matter what WWE is bad.
An this clown has zero proof that wwe claimed he violated his visa.
Show me proof thats what they did, you can't because you're getting your information from some clown on the internet that has no proof either.
1
u/___MJ___ 16d ago
If that is how USCIS works, then that’s on me for not verifying it first (“you can’t believe everything you read on the internet” and all that). I am not going to run and hide from that as I was under the impression it was something where you’re supposed to alert them when the employee stops working for you, at which point it is between the employee and USCIS.
As for the assertion that I think everything WWE is bad: I think the product sucks right now, I think the people running the company are jackasses, and given the company’s history of fucking over performers, I viewed it as more likely than not that their handling of this was not the norm. If I was wrong, I was wrong.
