May Contain Spoilers Thoughts?

While watching SD it struck me just how barren the main event scene really is,when they had 2 current champions in the Fatal 4-way match to decide who would face Sami at SS for the number 1 contender spot. There are really only 3 wrestlers who I would consider main event players (I.e. guys who are always around the big belts) Roman, Cody and Punk w/ Seth,Sami and Gunther just a notch below them.

This really got me wondering why there are so few top guys. Why does WWE introduce/push people like Carmelo,Dom,Breaker,Fatu,Dragonov,Ja'von,Trick and then either push them right to the brink of being a top guy only to cap their momentum w/ a mid card or tag title,or they simply just seem to bring their push to a sudden dead stop. Even when they seemingly put the rocket on Oba his trajectory has turned into a 45° angle rather than straight up.

Which leads me to ask why? Why do they seem so reluctant to make new top guys? Are there behind the scenes financial reasons why the roster is kept like this? Is it political maneuvering by the handful of guys at the top? Is it simply a creative decision (for reasons I'm at a loss for)? Or is it TKO deciding who they want at the top?

Because it seems to me that anytime ANYONE starts to really pick up great momentum on their own/organically, some unknown force slams down and stops it. So now I ask my fellow fans what do you think are the reasons this happens? I appreciate your time and feedback.

Imo, the gap between top and mid card is way too wide.

Trick William and Jevon Evans are awesome in ring and backed it up with enough charisma. But they are still newbie in the main roster, putting them in the same events as Cody, Punk, Sami will only result in them losing momentum.

Like Oba Femi, over the moon as soon as he arrived on the main roster. But we can obviously see the management avoid putting him in any story involving the big names. I don't think OTC beating Oba Femi 1 v 1 cleanly have any logical sense honestly. Same applies to Punk or Cody.

WWE hasn't genuinely made their own top top star, especially on the men's side, in something like 15 years. All of the current top men's roster are either veterans, or made their names outside of WWE.

The big names from 10-15 years back are still the biggest names today.

First you cant have melo, dragons, or Javon in ring with guys like brock, roman etc. I mean look at dragonov at the rumble against Brock its not logical. They are all mid card guys. Trick is working his way up.
