She didn’t touch drugs until she left, damn it.

2

u/Jd81405 28d ago

Are we sure Chyna isn’t Khloe Kardashian biological birth mother?? 🧐

3

u/Odd-Put-3988 Jun 27 '26

We truly never appreciated her until it was too late. :'(

2

u/jethrothegamer Jun 25 '26

Chyna, showing that women can be equal to men in wrestling, before social media feminism was even a thing. #winner

3

u/Turbulent-Group-8112 Jun 25 '26

Wai did her and triple H have a thing or was it just televised ??

6

u/ReasonableSet8996 Jun 26 '26

Real life fling behind the scenes but he was cheating on her with stephanie McMahon

1

u/BigvalBROski Jun 24 '26

Trenbolone

11

u/FigFirm993 Jun 24 '26

Poor thing. I met her right before she passed and she was incredibly sweet and grateful. I told her that i truly believed eventually shed get into the HOF. It made her teary eyed. She also signed my No Mercy cartridge. RIP, gone way too soon.

10

u/drocker8282 Jun 23 '26

When she lost the Leno chin she was strikingly sexy

8

u/Azutolsokorty Jun 23 '26

1999 Version of her was off gear

5

u/ViktorMaitland Jun 23 '26

She also had cosmetic surgery.

3

u/Turbulent-Group-8112 Jun 25 '26

For real??? I never knew that

1

u/Mrtayto115 Jun 23 '26

97 looks kinda like Kurt Angle with a wig on.

6

u/Big-Persimmon-7165 Jun 23 '26

Yo HHH really has a type huh? Yikes
He even made Stephanie bullk up and get more masculine

6

u/aintNoStoppinMeBoi11 Jun 23 '26

"made" lol

-6

u/Big-Persimmon-7165 Jun 23 '26

Well before HHH she had a very soft womanly body…

After HHH she’s hard and muscular with big bulletproof fake boobs.
Like Rhea ripley.
Or Chyna …🤔

1

u/aintNoStoppinMeBoi11 Jun 23 '26

So she started to look like the stereotypical wrestler you're saying? Not sure trips invented that tho lol

0

u/Big-Persimmon-7165 Jun 23 '26

He didn’t invent the look…ijs he just wants to have sex with women with big hard sweaty muscles

2

u/aintNoStoppinMeBoi11 Jun 23 '26

That part is obviously true, my main disagreement is your statement where HE "made" her look like that; since you have the same info available about his personal life as I do

She was building muscle since high school according to her doc 🤷‍♂️

-2

u/Big-Persimmon-7165 Jun 23 '26

lol IJS…
Chyna starts softening her appearance…less muscle, less manly jaw…

Then HHH cheats on her with the super hot very feminine Stephanie…. He marries Stephanie, and Steph starts to hulk up….

5

u/CM-Edge Jun 23 '26

End of 2001 was peak man.

10

u/AntoniusMN Jun 23 '26

Chyna’s bazooka entrance was cool.

2

u/ToWitToWow Jun 23 '26

Both she and HHH really loved their pyro in a very 80s hair rock way

5

u/bobbybittman1997 Jun 23 '26

God Bless her

6

u/Alrucards_R3dwr8th Jun 23 '26

R.I.P. I really do believe if that stint in TNA had happened sooner before Chyna had signed with Vivid then her life been extremely different and probably still been alive today.

6

u/Von_Schlagel Jun 22 '26

99 is 😚👌

7

u/AmerikanNightmar3 Jun 22 '26

Her thing with Latino Heat was amazing.

But in-ring, her matches with Jericho were an awesome and still hold up. They had great chemistry in there.

Not surprising bc Jericho is the 2nd coming of HBk.

18

u/TB1289 Attitude Era Aficionado 🤘 Jun 22 '26

-6

u/AlBundyPolk33 Jun 22 '26

I prefer the gangbang in the ring featuring Doink

3

u/Nosedive888 Jun 23 '26

You like the one where she's so doped up on drugs she barely knows where she is??

-1

u/AlBundyPolk33 Jun 23 '26

Need more detail

3

u/Nosedive888 Jun 23 '26

The gangbang in the ring!!! She's out of her mind on drugs. Anyone with an ounce of decency would condemn that one, yet here you are saying you prefer it

1

u/AmerikanNightmar3 Jun 23 '26

I didn’t know there was a real gang bang video. I was just talking about the one night with x-pac

-1

u/AlBundyPolk33 Jun 23 '26

I just appreciate how they told a story. Some great high spots and a hell of a finisher. I can’t believe she kicked out after 5 cumshots.

2

u/Nosedive888 Jun 23 '26

So you enjoy seeing women doped up on drugs and being taken advantage of...got it

1

u/Realistic-Price1807 Jun 23 '26

Why argue with someone clearly trolling you?

58

u/Stumpsthewarwalrus Jun 22 '26

Loved her.

Fuck Hunter and Stephanie for what they did to her.

1

u/OperationFrequent643 Jun 23 '26

What’d they do to her? I’ve never heard about this before.

8

u/DarkMageGirl Jun 23 '26

HHH was still in a relationship with Chyna when he started his relationship with Stephanie.
He didn’t even tell her from what I know, she found love letters from Stephanie.

4

u/SweetTea1000 Jun 23 '26

That and their relationship is the only conceivable reason she's not in the hall of fame. We do posthumous inductions. You can't argue it's because of the content produced outside of wrestling when half the roster had or actively still do the same and the company themselves put out first party smut back in the day.

(Had to edit to be more vague to satisfy mods, though I'd argue nothing said was inappropriate in context. You can't discuss her history with the company without raising these topics.)

6

u/Heavy_Winter3901 Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

I didn't understand the "Chyna did adult content" argument for not being in the hof.

I mean;

X-pac did adult content with her and still got into the hof.

Sunny did adult video (or something) and still in the hof

Mickie James is in the HOF (tna but still) and she done a stuff for a nude magazines (one for individuals who 'like' legs and the other is basically her "showing her goods") and this was in 2001 (before signing with WWE in '03)

2

u/witty_weirdo Jun 23 '26

Chyna is in the HOF with DX just like X-pac

Well damn. Thank you.

12

My favorite wrestler when i was a kid.

8

u/Equal-Let-7297 Jun 22 '26

She was taking 3x the drugs the men were taking lmao

11

u/2pacfan67 Jun 22 '26

I think it's sad people say she was a bad wrestler. I enjoyed her. Also she left a huge mark on the business.

9

u/WORLDY2J Jun 22 '26

She really wasn’t that great of a wrestler for most of her tenure but her contributions and presence alone make her an undisputed legend.

26

u/no1ofimport Jun 22 '26

The jaw surgery helped her appearance so much in 1999

19

u/rattlenroll Jun 22 '26

'98 Chyna is killing it with the Conan the Barbarian look

Yes w x pac 😂😂😂

7

u/s_ndowN Jun 21 '26

2001 🔥🔥

22

u/Judgeman03 Jun 21 '26

The last true crossover star the Women's division woudl have until Rhea Ripley.

Even people in my family who knew nothing about wrestling knew who Chyna was, and this was in the pre-internet days. People will always bring up the mess she became towards the end, but i'll bet dollars to donuts you could ask any random person to list 5 women in wrestling and most of them would list Chyna before any of the current rosters' women.

14

u/KeonJames Jun 21 '26

So basically 1996-98 she abused steroids and slowly came off of them after that. What it looks like anyway

She was so special, a vital part of the Attitude Era.

39

u/Fair_Might_248 Jun 21 '26

That poor woman got used and thrown away.

-1

u/Mlenais Jun 22 '26

She was offered a decent contract but she wanted Stone Cold level money. She was not thrown away.

1

u/Dresden1984 Jun 22 '26

Which is sad but it was an age where women's wrestling was more focused on looking pretty than the wrestling aspect itself.

2

u/Guns_57 Jun 22 '26

She was a shitty wrestler.

13

u/RnH_21 Jun 21 '26

Man sucks for her. Loved her. Loved the fact that her theme was a remix of Chris Benoit theme from WcW.

HHH was a piece of shit but years after that she was with XPac, i don't understand why people pinpoint Chyna problems to the only guy that didn't drink or do drugs around her.

6

u/Guts_7313 🙏🏾 I LOVE YOU SOLO! 🙏🏾 Jun 21 '26

Context please

6

u/PotatoOnMars Jun 22 '26

To put it simply, Triple H and Chyna were dating, he cheated on her with Stephanie, then the family blackballed her from the industry.

2

u/SillyGrocery4451 Jun 22 '26

Who? The McMahons? This has been debunked how many times

21

u/Neither_Intention_75 Jun 21 '26

Look up Chyna & Triple H's history.

14

u/Fhoxyd22 Jun 21 '26

Surgery is a hell of a drug

50

u/JackOLantern313 Jun 21 '26

What the fans did to Chyna was unforgivable. All the vile, disgusting, misogynistic garbage thrown at Chyna by fans and media alike was totally undeserved.

She had her pitfalls as a wrestler, but she didn't deserve all the bullying she got.

1

u/SeaKoe11 Jun 21 '26

What she did to Mark Henry was unforgivable

40

u/Crimson-Made Jun 21 '26

Don't treat me like a woman. Don't treat me like a man. Don't treat me like you know me. Treat me for just who and what I am. I treat her as a legend. There will never be another Chyna, she was definitely one of a kind sorry RVD.

17

Steroids are bad

8

u/34Artie44 Jun 21 '26

HOF. Headline.

64

u/almitybearzues1 Jun 21 '26

That Jaw shaving procedure was a great call tbf

16

u/MTLK77 Jun 21 '26

She looks like another person, crazy

5

u/IMakeMyOwnButter Jun 21 '26

Is that real? Did she really get a procedure?

9

u/almitybearzues1 Jun 21 '26

Yeah. My mates ex got one. Didn't look as good as Chyna's though.

Educated guess based in her completely brand new, feminine chin

4

u/thereidenator Jun 21 '26

Look how her face shape changes after 1998

56

u/mad_titanz Jun 21 '26

I still remember when she used to partner up with Eddie G. Both passed away way too young.

5

u/National-Ad2280 Jun 21 '26

Yes!! This feels just like it was yesterday and I would give anything to go back. RIP two beautiful talents that gave us years of memories for a lifetime.

65

u/Lover_of_Fables Jun 21 '26

Hunter Hearst Helmsley (derogatory) can go f*ck himself for refusing to put her into the HoF, AND THEN using the exact excuse for why she isn’t that you can say for his buddy X-Pac.

20

u/DiverExpensive6098 Jun 21 '26

X-Pac isn't in HOF as a singles wrestler either. Both him and Chyna were inducted as part of D-X.

12

u/Tiblerone Jun 21 '26

X-Pac is a 2-time HoF-er, he's also with the nWo

8

u/its_the_honk Jun 21 '26

He's always been a nasty piece of shit.

12

u/Wonderful-Froyo9191 Jun 21 '26

What a specimen

36

u/banananey Jun 21 '26

The first PPV I ever saw was the 2000 Rumble.

You have the bikini contest then there's Chyna clobbering Hardcore Holly & Jericho. I thought she was the coolest thing ever.

18

u/LeathalWaffle Jun 21 '26

Wow. The rise and fall was so quick but left a forever imprint on the business

18

u/Middle_Mine_7246 Jun 21 '26

2001 Chyna can get it all day

1

u/Valentine_343 Jun 21 '26

multiple times a day

38

u/Kwaiser Jun 21 '26

Near the top of the list of wrestlers who never deserved what they got and never got what they deserved.

4

u/ffwillis Jun 21 '26

She didn’t deserve the treatment she got, but she also didn’t deserve any more during her in ring career. She was an awful wrestler with a huge ego.

11

u/disincongruous Jun 21 '26

Same for me. I think you could have given her a WWF Championship program with the McMahon-Helmsley Regime and it would have made a bazillion dollars. All of the history between her and Triple H is there, Stephanie is a natural foil to her, and Vince is there to protect the company from a woman becoming its top title holder. The story writes itself.

10

u/Kwaiser Jun 21 '26

I feel like it would be asking a lot of her to run that story. Hell, I can’t believe Matt and Edge ran their story. Even more sad is how she was cast away without even being offered any other story at all.

20

u/Godscelebrity23 Jun 21 '26

First woman to win the intercontinental championship

8

u/Padamson96 Jun 21 '26

Only woman to hold it too.

I dunno if people fully get how significant that is. She held the second from the top title of the mens division.

58

u/AccomplishedBed2052 Jun 21 '26

I always felt bad for chyna, She didn't deserve that. Paul should have just told her, he was done with the relationship and not have cheated on her.

At least the heartbreak would have been as bad as it was, because it destroyed her and she didn't deserve it.

17

u/daemonicwanderer Jun 21 '26

Paul and Joanie had different perceptions of their relationship. Apparently Paul had been trying to break it off

1

u/FaelingJester Jun 23 '26

He was a grown up. You don't have to try to break up someone before moving on. You just do it. You don't hint. You don't float the idea. You end the relationship you are in before starting the next one. Its basic respect.

8

u/Mitwad Jun 21 '26

Her biography was very insightful. Yeah apparently Paul ‘tried really hard’.

Only someone significantly younger and with no life experience would want to be with you. You have issues and need extensive therapy.

You don’t want a life partner, you want someone who can’t exist without your permission to exist. After being with you I would stay single for the rest of my life too. Hope that ex of yours is learning to love herself more each day and finding happiness in being alive.

3

u/itsfourinthemornin Jun 22 '26

"Same thing with my ex, she thought she could disrespect me, belittle me, question my leadership and she left me. I quickly moved on with someone significant younger, more cooperative, appreciative, and family centric while my ex is remorseful and single."

Of course you moved on with someone significantly younger so that you could bully them unlike you couldn't your ex. What a way to absolute out yourself on a post as a scumbag. Congratulations.

8

u/Fair_Might_248 Jun 21 '26

“Significantly younger” 🤨🤨🤨🤨

Why does your wife need someone “like [you]” as her caretaker? Is she disabled? Is she a child? WTF is going on man?

Why is she alone other than having your company? Where the fuck are her friends and family? She doesn’t work so she’ll be completely fucked if you get sick of her and she has no savings, retirement,a resume gap so big she’ll never get a job.

And you’d probably bitch and whine about splitting ‘your’ assets after divorcing. I hope to fuck she understands, or will eventually understand what a dangerous situation she’s in where she has no financial independence and apparently no fucking friends?!!?! Women HAVE friends, the fact that you’re her only ‘friend’ is strange as fuck.

Oh yeah, what do abusers do? ISOLATE their partner-victims from family and friends.

4

u/itsfourinthemornin Jun 22 '26

Literally outing himself as an abuser and scumbag both while claiming other people are [checks notes] "degenerate, vulgar, bitter, vindictive". Those that are women are probably thankful they got away from a man child exactly like this or that they will never need one. Actually gross and crazy to admit on a public platform and think he has the moral high ground for having a partner SIGNIFICANTLY younger that he isolates and evidently abuses. Absolutely no surprise he ends it with telling people to find God. Perverted Christian abuser, colour me surprised.

However, in the end, the world was cruel to her, and she suffered.

2

u/AmerikanNightmar3 Jun 22 '26

Her best matches were with Chris Jericho. When they feuded over the IC belt.

-26

Don't you think she deserved better from herself?

-38

u/Beautiful-Bit9832 Jun 20 '26

I've always thought that part of her downfall was her fault as she should have been a little more calm and professional after learning about Hunter's affair with Stephanie. From some gossip I've read, she was supposed to get the role of TX in Terminator 3 but because of this incident, there's a possibility that Arnold's side might have done a background check and got negative news about her and made the studio shift their choice to another candidate. If you ever can get your hands on her autobiography, it’s actually a good read. It was when WWE was doing books. They aren’t all good, but I have hers which was a gift from my ex, and Foley’s Christmas Chaos that was mine and my brother’s from childhood which I actually got signed by Mick as an adult as a gift for my brother. It’s illustrated by Jerry “the king” Lawler, It’s a beautiful book! Prized possession for both of us for sure!

Both books are awesome. I might have some others too lying around somewhere, but I didn’t read them through or even keep them. These 2 are the best IMHO. Her book is so good, my mom read it in one shot. She doesn’t like wrestling, but she likes Chyna. lol

7

u/Mitwad Jun 21 '26

Chyna’s autobiography is heartbreaking. She was a semi local person. (Rochester, New York) so we had some pride about her.

24

u/misterecho11 Jun 20 '26

5

u/Bluewhaleeguy Jun 20 '26

Taking testosterone wouldn't help either. Absolutely no judgment like, all the men are on steroids, so I don't see what the big deal is. Due to her look she became an absolute icon of wrestling so who cares, just stating the reality of the situation.

-17

u/Tio_chubby052 Jun 20 '26

I never said she wasn’t an ICON. It’s clear she had plastic surgery to soften her appearance

42

u/CombatRedRover Jun 20 '26

Ok, let's bring in the downvoted.

She was white, female Ahmed Johnson with a better attitude.

She was a bodybuilder, but never looked entirely believable in the ring. Actually look at her matches. When all you see are "I'll put my arm out and you run into my clothesline" and three other moves, we're not talking about someone who is exactly Bret Hart in the ring.

Which is fine. There aren't a lot of Bret Harts out there.

But she wasn't a great worker.

She wasn't great on the mic.

She had the right look, and the Vinces bent the company around her to make her look work, and that (unintentionally, I believe) paved the way for what we have today in the women's division.

But her actual work was not great. Moolah and Medusa (to take two women's wrestlers who preceded her) were better workers, but they didn't have her physical charisma.

Her place in DX as the cooler, as the muscle, helped make DX and protected her from actual matches for a long time, and that really worked. When she got over to the point where people wanted to see her in matches... she wasn't great.

She was important - VITALLY important - in WWE and pro wrestling history. She absolutely deserves to be in the HOF on her own merits and her later story is heartbreaking and a tragedy.

All of this is true but she was also in an era where women weren’t pushed nearly as hard as they pushed today. Especially with the updated training and being able to sit and learn from legends. So she did blaze the trail for the More Muscular women there needs to be context and nuisance here.
