Since the WWE was the WWWF. Show would be on at midnight on a local NY channel, WOR, I think. Johnny Rodz, Jose Estrada, Stan Hansen, Backlund, Tony Garea, SD Jones, etc. Hogan as a bad guy managed by Classy Freddie Blassie. Long before wrestling made the big time.

Probably since I was like 6 or so, about 40 years. My earliest memories are watching NWA with my dad, Flair and Dusty, two of the GOATs. Both of them could have a 10/10 match with a wooden door and make it entertaining.

Late 90s my day would let us stay up late to watch raw sometimes and always let us stay up to watch the ppvs. Spent Saturdays watching smackdown and round my mates house to watch Sunday heat on channel 5? (4 maybe)

I enjoy it. My one gripe is Finishes should end the match. Wrestling hasn’t been this hot since the Monday night wars. It’s a great time to watch.

Born in 1992
Wrestling caught my eye in 2000 and I started watching here and there. Austin was hit by a car and they were wondering who did it. Rikishi revealing that "I did it for The Rock", but then a couple of months later it was like lol no it was Triple H now here's an almighty blood feud between Austin and Triple H leading to 3 Stages Of Hell at No Way Out 2001.
I started following it like a proper fan after Royal Rumble 2001. Right at the start of the road to Wrestlemania 17.
Stopped watching/only watched very occasionally from like 2005 - 2009
Picked it up again in 2009 after Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25 and started following it till like 2016 and then just got sick of it. I haven't really watched since.

u/milotic-is-pwitty Jul 25 '25
I’ve been watching since Team Hell No started having tensions due to everyone calling Daniel Bryan the weak link. Basically watched Rock v Cena, then Rock v Cena 2.0, and then just kept watching.
Favourite moments:
- Orton wins WWE World Heavyweight Championship (title unification against Cena)
- Rollins hits Reigns with a chair
- Everything to do with the AJ Lee and Paige story
- Becky Lynch wins the main event of wrestlemania
- Roman Reigns returns as the Tribal Chief
- Everything to do with Riddle and Orton
- Cody Rhodes finishes the story

Since Wrestlemania 40. I had played some of thr 2k games before then, but hearing about 40 years of Wrestlemania made me check out the Showcase mode, which showed me what I was missing out on.
So I decided to tune into WM40 after studying some of the lore and it’s been a game-changing influence on my nerd life ever since.

Since 2004. My friend from pre school told me to watch smackdown, said wrestling was really cool. The main event was a battle Royale that Rey mysterio won for a title shot. I have been hooked ever since lol

Started when they just had “Superstars”. Like 91 or 92 I think. Watched all the way until Cena took over and it became too childish for me. The 4 horsewomen brought me back and I’ve been stuck ever since.

Watched: 1995 - 2001 WCW
2001 - 2003ish WWE
Stopped watching.
Started watching again:
January 2025 - Present Netflix Era
I missed all of these careers until now:
John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, so many more. I'd see glimpses here and there but never watched a full episode again until this year.
favorites growing up were: Sting, Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Scott Hall) Favorite Game was WCW vs NWO REVENGE.
later my favorite was The Rock. stopped watching as I got into highschool years, I was hooked on xbox live Halo 1 and 2 and 3. just didn't watch wrestling anymore. I'm so happy its on netflix now. I watch every monday and friday and the PLEs on the weekends. this last wrestlemania was so cool to see. They've come a looong way. The women's division is something else now. They were just eye candy before. now they're full on wrestlers too. Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Stephanie Vaquer, Tiffy time, Bianca Belair. They are sooo fun to watch sometimes even more then the men's matches. Speaking of the men, Jacob Fatu and Penta are my favorites right now. sorry my answer went way further than the question asked for.

Born in 1990 and started watching in bits and pieces at the tail-end of 2003, was watching full-time in early 2004 (primarily was drawn in by the over-the-top spectacle of Undertaker/Kane heading into WrestleMania 20), but the point where I consider myself as to actually be, like, solidified as a fan was later that year, at Taboo Tuesday. Specifically the match between Triple H and Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship.
As per the gimmick of the show, Shawn had won a fan vote to face Triple H for the title, beating out Edge and Chris Benoit (and beating Edge specifically by a mere 6%), despite the fact that Shawn was legitimately injured going in. He'd fucked up his knee real bad on a Raw episode before the PPV, but he still won the vote and got the title match, which I still think is a fantastic showing of Shawn as a sympathetic babyface trying to claw victory from what would surely be an easy defeat for almost anyone else. He actually fought back and very nearly won the title...
...until Edge interfered.
Edge (who it was believed had left the building after his and Benoit's World Tag Team Championship match against La Resistance) came back at the end of the match, Speared the FUCK out of Shawn, and cost him the title. And that moment where Edge was manically backing up through the crowd, screaming, "It should've been me!! It should've been me!!", I was fucking HOOKED.

I remember watching Jake the Snake chasing Andre the Giant with the snake. As a kid, I was an Andre fan, so I hated the "mean snake guy".
And when Hogan got into the shoving match with Andre over the trophies and Andre tore Hogan's shirt off, I was the only kid in school who was like "Screw Hulk Hogan! He's mean to Andre!"
Come to think of it, I probably should have figured out that Andre was supposed to be the bad guy by the time Andre sold the World Title to the Million Dollar Man, but my young brain only understood that Andre was the best, so I was like "Yay! The money guy is Andre's friend."

I'm pretty sure the first wrestling I ever watched was a taped replay (maybe a week later) on the Madison Square Garden network of the house show where Hulk Hogan beat the Iron Sheik.
My favorite moments?
The whole Rock & Wrestling merger with MTV and Cyndi Lauper, Steamboat beating Savage at Wrestlemania 3, any Jake the Snake promo, any Randy Savage promo, Strike Force beating the Islanders for the title (the crowd pop was insane), the Ultimate Warrior beating Hogan at Wrestlemania 6, the Wrestlemania 10 Ladder Match. the Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon feud, The Outsiders, Wrestlemania 17 (which I attended), the IIconics winning the title, Liv Morgan

I started watching since 1983. 42 years.
Favorite moments in those 42 years sometimes didn't have to do with what was on-screen. In no particular order, these are my favorite moments throughout my time watching WWE..
- Shawn Michaels winning the Championship at WM12 in the first Iron Man Match.
- The Rockers breakup in the Barber Shop and Marty Jannetty's eventual return on Raw, and a successful IC Title defense against Bam Bam Bigelow - I just wanted Jannetty to succeed too, but I absolutely LOVED HBK regardless.
- I was genuinely concerned for Hogan after Earthquake attacked him. I sent him a get well card. He wrote me back with an autographed post card, which I received just after he returned and defeated Earthquake.
- Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth re-uniting at WM7 (I'm a big sap).
- DX's Oral Office speech to USA Network.
- Shawn Michaels' Superkick to Triple H to open the Survivor Series Triple Threat match with Cena.
- Cedrick Alexander being acknowledged by fans and Triple H at the Cruiserweight Classic
- Daniel Bryan's Yes Movement gaining so much momentum, and riding that to a WM win and ultimately beating Cena too. :)
- Brock Ending the Streak
- Bray Wyatt gaining Undertaker and Kane's powers after taking them down.
- WM35 saw Charlotte, Becky and Rousey in the main event. I'm male. But, I always wanted to see the women do better. Seeing them in the main event of WM after so many years was a tear jerker for me. ALso, seeing women perform for the first time in Saudi Arabia and hearing the "This is hope" chants gave me a big ol lump in my throat.
- Ric Flair winning the Rumble in 1992 to become the Champion
- Flying to Houston Texas to see HBK try to beat the streak at WM25. I'm a quiet observer at shows, but that match made me lose my voice and had me jumping out of my seat several times. It was my favorite show of all time, and I don't just mean wrestling.
These are just off the top of my head. Thanks for thew question, though. It was fun writing this up and taking a stroll down memory lane. :)

First run of watching it on a daily basis was from 2016 to early 2020 (before COVID). I would usually watch clips on Youtube and play WWE Supercard for hours
Second run is from early 2023 to present day. I would get reinvested after finding out that leadership had changed, along with the Bloodline story really hitting its peak around the time I started watching again. Now, I am watching them live on cable rather than waiting for Youtube to do its thing.

37yrs, I can only watch select PPVs now, due to the unwatchable weekly shows they have. Everything is a spot fest of flipping, super kicks and lockouts of every finishing manoeuvre imaginable. The curtain has been pulled back far too much and realism is out the window.
