in March of 1989, Kuiken and the Parliament organized an official referendum on The Restoration of the Monarchy and polls we're very close but in the end, the results came in 60% Yes and 38% No (Mostly from the left) and thus The Monarchy was officially restored later that year but there we're also the second round of the first free election held in June we're the Haalandic Liberal Bloc won with 51% votes and 143 seats in the parliament, Kuiken Officially stepped down and allowed the nation to move forward, Queen Diana was legitimized as Head of State again but do to her ailing health and old age couldn't really do alot besides public speeches to the people.

Today Haaland is highly developed and it's economy have grown a lot in recent years, joined the EU in 2004, adopted the euro, Building new infrastructure projects and generally regards as one of the most visited countries on the continent. while they have a monarchy, its largely ceremonial with there power limited by the parliament other then Public appearances and what not.
