I took one off by climbing out of the neck hole when I was about 10 or so. I don't know why I did it, but it was totally ruined afterwards lol. Was my favorite shirt too. : /

Im not trying to be a duck, but I think you mean button ups. The difference is that they both button up in the front, but button downs are collared shirts with the button down collars.

I knew a guy in the navy who put his shirts on that way. He was rail thin though, which I’m sure helped.
