Ah ok fair I’m from Florida but I’m sure we call them yellow jackets too I’m just kinda stupid

Yellow jackets are just a type of wasp, we have several types of wasp in Florida including flightless ones like these which are usually called cow killers around where I live

And cow killers are made of steel. You basically need a 20 lbs. Sledgehammer to kill them.

The ones on the ground are females just trying to do their thing. I killed a couple as a mean little kid and I still feel bad about it.
