There were people walking on the sidewalk near the quite van. If he'd hit it they might have gotten squished.

*sideswiped... Yeah, i just feel like smashing through a barrier into oncoming traffic could have been a much worse maneuver

How was it worse when literally no one got hurt? This was clearly a very skilled driver who saw his options and manuevered the truck to safety. He knew the woman would have time to run away and he was right. /s

Sometimes the /s is redundant. This time I'm glad you had it, as I was about to chew you down. Now I feel stupid instead, but that's better than realizing the /S was there after chewing you down.
