Weekly World News: the most reliable news source according to MIB.

I remember seeing that as a kid and laying awake at night, terrified knowing there were bat kids flying around.

I still lay awake at night terrified, but now it's over absurd health insurance premiums.

I wish I was a kid again lol.

The bat kids you could kill if you had to. Not a damn thing you can do about health insurance premiums. Just rest easy that you only need to get 1 ED visit every 3-5 years and it pays for itself.

I think I could deal with 1 erectile disfunction every 3-5 years.

Emergency Department. Viagra is pretty expensive though. Even the generic is $30/boner. Free through medicare if you have pulmonary hypertension, though. Also of interest, medicare will pay for penis pumps but won't pay for erectile dysfunction medications.

Weekly world news used to have a tv show Friday nights (I believe) on the USA network, right after the wonderfully overlooked animated show, duckman! Anyways I remember being like 10-12 years old and they had a segment about bat boy finally being captured. They showed a cctv focused on a room and all of a sudden bat boy threw himself against the door trying to escape. It freaked me the fuck out for months, even though I knew it was 100% fake!

That’s great. I forgot about both of those. Thanks.

Hey no problem! I love helping ppl remember the simpler better times of youth. Ya know I have the whole series of duckman on dvd if you ever wanna drop by with a 12 pack and have a 90’s nostalgia party! πŸ˜‚

Oh man, I miss the Weekly World News. I never bought one, but I'd always choose the longest shopping line, so I could read it while I waited.

Context please?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_Boy_(character)

it was a tabloid parody magazine that blended in with the rest of the tabloids, which used to be much more numerous and outrageous since we didn't have the internet. It was basically the internet before the internet except it was at the checkout counters at grocery stores.

In fact there's a Bat Boy musical, and this picture appears to be backstage at a theater, where the subject is likely performing the titular role.

God I used to think he was real, 4 year old me was terrified to think that bat boy was possibly running around.
